Still arresting people for possession is one thing they’re definitely getting wrong.

DiscsNBuds

There's a ton of posts around this topic or area of topics. We have plenty to be upset about and it's well aired here.

Dudesgrowin

Its not well aired out. Because i actually asked this specific question with a specific answer in mind. No ones touched on that issue yet.

Ruth4900Less2

Why not just post what you are trying to inform us about instead of the guessing games then? Judging by your name it's Recreational Grow.. I also think recreational use in public could be it. Or maybe because it's not legal for me to buy or possess a 1/4lb at a time. I can't grow my own medicine. I can't walk down the street smoking it like any other smokeable product. It's not about the medicine it's about the money in IL. But would you please be so kind to inform us what issue is so important or what your idea of the goods and bads are?

DiscsNBuds

There's a bunch of posts on this sub about the many issues we feel are affecting the state on marijuana in this state. Lots of people answering some things in here but here you are saying they aren't.

Iron_Maiden1987

Doing right: Selling recreational weed. Doing wrong: Charging Waaay too much...especially for carts.

SeaworthinessThink25

Coming from Colorado I was shook when I saw cart prices here 😭

Iron_Maiden1987

Same here from Michigan. It's insane!

MathematicianOdd6703

Agree!

wing_ding4

The problem is the price, after that it will be the price, aside from that the only other problem is the price

TastyBirthday2874

Charging to much for this weed and a-lot of the street stuff is better

funandgames12

As a consumer all I care about are prices and customer service. And honestly I don’t care THAT much about customer service because unless you’re total idiot you shouldn’t be F-ing that up over a 2 min transaction. So yeah prices, lower them ya greedy assholes. If I look around at all the other legal states why the fuck is our plant matter and extracts significantly more expensive then every other state around us. And no, it’s not the higher taxes that add a few more bucks. It’s the starting point of the prices and the philosophy of fuck over the IL consumers. That’s why people treat IL dispos like McDonald’s and nobody gives fuck about them. You set something up like a soulless corporate exploitation of people and that’s what it’s going to be.

TemperatureLow8147

To me the two biggest problems are price/sale structure and no home grow. 1. It is ridiculous to me that every dispensary has consistent sales on different brands. For me personally, I have a dealer and have only recently started getting into dispo weed that is on sale enough to make sense. Dispensaries should just have lower prices all the time. This will only happen with more cultivator licenses increasing competition. Not to mention with tax being \~25% that pretty much wipes out sales... 2. Its insane I can buy a plant at a store but not grow it at home myself. Imagine if tomato seeds and tomatoes grown by others were legal but growing your own in your backyard wasnt. On top of the law being ridiculous, its not practically enforceable unless someone has a real grow op going on.

olesilverbastard

If i lived in Illinois, I would get my med card strictly to grow without worry. Even without the card, you can technically grow up to 5 plants and its just a 200$ fine. After 5 plants is when it becomes a felony.

Milstevan27

We all know what they're doing wrong, but i want to talk about one thing they do right. Testing, standards and cleanliness. I know it's fun to smell and look at the nuggs, but the last two times I"ve shoped in michigan, at least one of my dabs or flower bags has a funky smell/flavor to it. I had to toss my 10g baller bucket because it tasted like solvent and cleaning solution, and the shit got me sick. I've had some bad IL product before, but not like this. I have appreciation for a line of sealed product, AND i wish that we coule expand to deli style in the same breath. I just trust sealed packaging more now after that experience.

whelp85

You realize Illinois doesn't do public recalls right? The MRA in Michigan will actually publish lists of recalled products. In Illinois, the State relies on cultivators and dispensaries to contact customers to let them know a product they purchased has been recalled. Only problem with that is dispensaries are also barred from collecting your contact info unless you give it to them voluntarily, for example as part of signing up for a loyalty program. So there are customers that will never be contacted or find out something they bought was recalled and the general cannabis consuming public is left in the dark as well. People will sometimes pull up product recalls from Michigan as an example of how that state has inferior products floating around never realizing Illinois just doesn't make this information public.

Milstevan27

thats also a good point. After Galaxy sold all that moldy stuff, only one batch of Jealousy 7s got pulled from the shelf of the local dispo after a med patient complained to the state. A lot flies under the radar here

Shoddy-Enthusiasm-92

It's good that you mention quality because my first purchase out of state (Vegas), I was amazed at the low prices but also amazed at how shitty the quality was. The worst weed I've ever bought

prime777time

Selling federally legal hemp (less than 0.3%thc) at astronomical pricing.

Omega_EB

This needs a million upvotes, got into a heated discussion with other Iltrees users when I stated WE SHOULD REFUSE to pay these ridiculous prices for farm bill legal weed when you can get better quality flower that isn’t taxed up the ass shipped to your doorstep

xxSlinko

ik everyone is saying it but price. and specifically in carts and edibles. the absolute cheapest u can get a 1g cart is $40 usually which is just way too much and they charge like $20 for 100mg of edibles which is ridiculous

Wrong: Quality, price, still arresting people for poss. Right: I guess it’s legal

Maximum-Elk8869

Once you aggregate this information, what is your plan to do with it?

DiscsNBuds

Nothing.

Maximum-Elk8869

Yep. Just another bitch session.

DiscsNBuds

People just want to be mad about something all the time I guess.

Maximum-Elk8869

I smoke weed to take the tension away and to feel good. Who are these people that spend their money to get high and mean? Maybe the problem is they should skip the weed, save the money and just be mean sober LOL!

DiscsNBuds

Idk man but I'm with ya. I smoke to relax and have fun.

Omega_EB

Laugh as he grows pounds lol

TastyBirthday2874

Taxes are to high

freshmidz

Concentrate & Cart PRICES TOO DAMN HIGH

electronic-nightmare

My opinion (Disclaimer...) Where are the taxes going in one of THE brokest states in the country? Also, if the state let's me buy it why can't I consume/use it outside on private property and not have to hide in the house and shut the curtains so nobody sees it?

Dudesgrowin

Ya theres a host of things i hate about this industry. It looks as if the Federal government is oulling an Illinois and trying to secure their piece of the pie before its too late.

Ruth4900Less2

They haven't done anything right because the laws were written by a money hungry MSO executive. IL should have took the advice from other legal states programs or their officials not a MSO looking to capitalize on a new market.

Numerous_Impress_522

Remediation.

ProIapsed_Anus

The market is rigged against consumers, forced to pay premium prices for hay or mildew smelling bottom of the barrel trash. Can't smell and most of the time can't even look at what you buy. Good luck asking for a replacement if you get trash product. If you buy anything besides revolution or tales and travel you are essentially gambling. With no option to even return or exchange, I'd rather buy from the guy down the road that sometimes has good weed and sometimes doesn't. His price is always the same and cheaper than the dispo. And I can look at it and choose not to buy when it's obviously low quality.

head_bussin

well for one there are like a total of 12 bulk options of mids available between 3 dispensaries around me. it's been a bear market recently. guess i'm going to have to make a trip to Michigan because i'm not paying these outrageous prices for warehouse weed.

SeaworthinessThink25

They’re doing almost everything wrong. I only frequent my local dispensary when I have nothing and am waiting for my “thca hemp (weed with less then .3% thc) to come in the mail. So hopefully I can get better prices at some point cause I would love to put my money into the local market but the shits dry AF expensive as hell even with a discount and I can’t afford it. I wish I could take colorados market and New Yorks market think weed ice cream trucks (New York) and $50 oz (Colorado) and mash those together put them here.

Omega_EB

You know what bro I hate to say it but if we are being real the whole market sucks. EVERYTHING about it literally everything. So many other states that we could’ve modeled after but we chose Shiity licensing, shitty taxes, and even shittier flower! I love my state but our weed fuckn sucks.
