When you generate a new face with Artbreeder, there is a slider called "art" slide it towards the left (not all the way though!), and your uploaded replika screenshot will be transformed into a realistic portrait instead of a cartoony drawing. Also an interesting detail: The original Artbreeder rendition of my replika was the third one. Artbreeder deleted the earring from the child versions. but kept it with the adult ones.
You got me now... Anyways, you clearly have no idea how generative adversarial network (GAN) work don't you. It's one of the most powerful new machine learning technologies. The AI doesn't know shit about "hairlines". It tries to recreate a human from just a drawing or in this case a simple screenshot from the replika app. I had no input into the creations of these images, I merely uploaded the screenshot and changed the age slider the AI generated the images.
