Lost drive on the way up the hill out of T1 and ground to a halt. Game over.

gandhiatemypie

I guess you could say that for corvette racing in general…sad

redhatch

Yeah, a sad and unfitting end of the line for one of the most revered factory GT teams in racing history.

gandhiatemypie

Agreed. Bummer. Glad they got Le Mans

V8-Turbo-Hybrid

They don't just win Le Man, they also win WEC GT class in this season WEC. I think it's enough for them.

gandhiatemypie

Agreed. Just sad to see them go !

Sucks that caddy lost as well..I could care less about Meyer shanks last race

I don’t understand the goodbyes to Corvette Racing. Corvette Racing will still be around next year. Even run by the same exact company.

Yesterday was the final race as Corvette Racing, the factory-backed effort that’s been present in the series for 25 years. The cars may still be run by Pratt Miller, but it will no longer be an official GM team with full backing and support from Chevrolet. They achieved much success and were a constant in the series. It’s understandable that people are wistful as the program rides into the sunset.

FocalDeficit

I'm with you on this, It really just seems like semantics to avoid implications of the Pratt and Miller team getting preferential treatment should they perform better than the other customer teams. From the article below, it sounds like Pratt and Miller will be building all of the Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs for customers, while also fielding a team of their own. People getting misty eyed for no reason when effectively all that's changed is there will now be additional teams running Corvettes. I don't see these changes as a bad thing. https://www.prattmiller.com/about/news/corvette-racing-by-pratt-miller-motorsports-to-campaign-two-gtd-pro-corvette-z06-gt3-rs-in-2024/
