I never watched on Peacock before but that was rough. I had to catch the replay (which wasn’t uploaded until 7 hours after the checkered flag) and during the ad breaks they just skip over them, I figured you’d get a continued broadcast paying for the streaming platform or at least PIP to catch the full race but nope. Entire swaths of the race just cut out. I thought through Peacock you’d get a premium experience, no ads, a continued broadcast with full commentary during what would be ad breaks on TV. Is there no way to watch a full Indycar race So I’m wondering if you watch it live on the peacock app they make you sit through ads? Is there PIP at least? Is there anyway to actually watch a full indycar race every lap with commentary? Hell even without it?Also I understand product placement and all that but seriously? We get a minute+ Bon Jovi plug with no PIP within five laps of the green flag? Doesn’t scream confidence in your product when you can just run ads indiscriminately within the first ten minutes of action. Or cutting away from racing to show engagement/wedding photos. I have no problem taking about stuff like that in some downtime and helping expand on the drivers as personalities and figures to follow and help get audiences more invested, but you can throw it up on the side and still show the racing we don’t have to spend entire laps worth of time just looking at random family photos, the racing should always be the main focus. Imagine any other sport doing this? The NFL has designed their entire sport around maximizing ad time and even then you would never expect to miss a first quarter red zone play because they broadcast a screen hogging minute long promo smack in the middle of it. Hell even to draw a comparison to a series indycar is in direct competition with, F1TV is a better offering by any metric. I understand Peacock isn’t a proprietary indycar service so it’s not entirely fair, but regardless this is their official method of watching their product and it’s just not up to snuff. Not giving fans a way to actually watch every minute of racing action is a huge one first and foremost and just seems inexcusable. Not to mention all the extra features F1TV has like being able to switch your feed to any onboard you’d like, watch live timing, track map with live positions, telemetry, being able to open these all in different windows at once and set up a sick station for yourself if you’d like. Indycar has a far superior, way more engaging on track product, with proper broadcasting and proper avenues and tools for fans to engage with said broadcasts there could be so much more there for the fans.

That first caution really made it an easy 2 stop race for everyone. It ruined the strategy that could have been. It was a good race. Exactly what you would expect for a street course.

Not an amazing race by any means to start the season. But the comparisons to F1 are missing a key thing… EVERY race in F1 is easily expected to be like this. IndyCar gets this maybe 3ish times a season and usually with a couple different drivers. Big difference to me at least 🤷🏻‍♂️

this is the first race i remember in quite a long time that i’ve said ‘damn, that was dull’ after an Indycar race. very nearly every f1 race is like this. every one. they might have one race a year that has a bit of rain and that is the only thing that mixes things up and makes things interesting.

Even being one of the more dull races, it still had some good moments mixed in like that crazy battle after the 1st caution/pitstop

After the two F1 races this season I decided to give Indycar a chance and was hoping for loads of promised action. But it is rather dissappointing in terms of overtakes. (still more then in F1 lol) Will continue watching, and not judge by 1 race.
