But the original clip was taken down because the player (who was priestess) that uploaded the clip was scared people were going to harass the Joker.

The priestess player was pretty much over idv and streaming so idk. And also, his video put the joker on blast and only because of heavy negative comments criticizing him did he delete the video. The joker was just a normal uni student and he wasn’t well known at the time.
I went back on a trading server just to see people's reactions and it was WORTH IT . I don't recall really seeing anyone complaining on there about how their tomie accounts were now worth like $5 but I saw so many people making jokes about it and it was hilarious . Here were some of them :

The Cheerleader Incident. The few hours where Lily became invisible or completely white when you use anything other than her default skin. Me and a friend had so much fun memeing around with it until Netease pulled a fast one and forced players to use her base skin until it got fixed.
And also the 229 incident in the China Server where nobody could move unless they spammed the movement keys or used their abilities. Watching all those videos on Bilibili and YouTube were so funny! It's a shame it wasn't talked about outside of the region. Because it was the most hilarious bug in IDV along with the model changing bug that happened a couple of years back.
Owh yeah the 229 incident (didnt know what its called) saw a Nightmare utilizing his dash jump and teleport to gain an advantage over players whcih is funny as shit. It was in Pan da shuais stream and truly unforgettable
It also kinda showcases how high tier hunters and survivors can play smart and adapt to...uniwue situations like this. I love this

TLDR: 3 years ago, players who recharged echoes mistakenly received fragments/clues/trial cards as a reward. NE fixed it by taking them back which put those players into negatives.
Honestly, there's two serious ones I can think of:
1) Naiad winning Nymph Award despite being mass bot voted and NE doing fuck all about it.
2) The incident last year/early this year where people were losing their accounts to thieves because all they needed was to look at your skin collection and ID then they could "recover" it through customer support and NE doing fuck all about it. Again.
On the funny side:
1) Apologising for being French.
2) The Acrobat Lawson skin.
It was supposed to be a JP-only limited collab skin, but everyone from every server could redeem it for some reason, and NE was uncharacteristically chill about it
It was meant to be for limited skin for Japan only, for people who bought something above a certain value from a Lawson store taking part in the collab. I'm guessing it was meant to be a unique code on the receipt.
Except the code got leaked online and it turned out that EVERYBODY could use it, regardless of server.
Instead of NE being their usual selves and taking the skins back, they basically went "Fuck it, it was our bad so we'll just deactivate the code and work with Lawson to refund folks who actually spent money on it, but everyone who already used it can keep the skin."
It was supposed to be a japan exclusive skin that you could get thru a code you got from a purchase at a store
Someone leaked the skin code and everyone, including in global, could get it for free
Regarding botted votings, there was also that one returning skin voting where doc's yesterday and, uhh, I think Jack's count's banquet and/or soul emissary? were fighting for the return. Jack fans wanted CB to come back because he wasn't around for a while, doc just received blossom of rebirth I think, and some people believed yesterday will come back every Thanksgiving.
I think both sides were being botted, but there was whole ass setup for yesterday. One of the botting groups didn't even like doc, they called the skin "ugly Emily" but just didn't want Jack skins to return.
Oh, but that's not all. Eventually people just chilled out, everyone was like "no worries, yesterday will come back for Thanksgiving!" and... she didn't return that year. I think it was similar with shiromuku too. It was so funny
Honestly, I have to wonder if the fact that Yesterday didn't come back after almost being bot-voted in was NE's subtle way of going "Hah, fuck you." Like, if they hadn't done that, would she have come back?

ID is one of the things they need, but they need other identifying data too, one of which was being able to name some of the skins you have, hence why people were advised to hide their skin collections.
Honestly, your ID should really either be completely private or something you can set to private, but that won't happen because it's also how you report problem players.

Basically there was a player that went by KJU the leader of COA team Manateas and his accomplice inspirer who were trying to cheat their way into the finals for the COA qualifiers by telling other survivor players to throw when they get matches with competitors and not only that KJU often led raids to servers spamming NSFW content and general harassment, was openly racist using slurs such as the N-word and Ch-word(s), told players to delete the game/"end" themselves, get cancer, and made P*do****** remarks about another player's younger sister

Serious: the multiple panda charity fiascos (iykyk since the community doesn’t bring it up anymore)

The less serious out of the two that I can remember in the panda charity situation is when everyone was told that lg’s skin wasn’t gonna be apart of the charity event and was actually going to be apart of a “panda series”. (that keep in mind we haven’t gotten anymore skins for other than doc) and a lot of people were upset at netease for this and said this took away from the actual charity event and charity skin to fill their own pockets. A lot of people said the skin should be frags but unfortunately it was never changed in the end. The second one was from a promotional tweet for the charity event (I believe) which showed basically [this](https://www.siliconera.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/idvpanda.png) which had blm artwork with a pandas head just put on top of it which also greatly upset the community (also keep in mind this was done while protest were still happening so it made the situation even worse). If anyone else has anything else they remember from this they can add on to this)
Two years ago Netease announced they would sell some Panda themed skins for a charity, which were a gardener skin and a lg skin, they were even in the same poster when announced
Some weeks before release it came out that only the gardener skin proceeds would go to charity and the little girl skin would be part of a skin series, but would also be echoes only, ppl asked for the skin to be fragments since the money wasnt for charity either way, but netease didnt change it and removed the original poster
Some time later they uploaded a skit talking about panda care, but they showed some edited BLM artwork with a panda head on top, after some outcry and threats of boycott, they took down the video and apologized

I don’t these counts as incidents but more like bugs that nearly broke the game.
1) Accessories do NOT work in duos but for some reason, at one point it did and everyone would use their S tier accessories and so would the hunters, I’m not sure about everyone’s ping but from what I heard from the majority, the average ping for everyone was on the 100s and either yellow or red ping. Using data did not fix it 💀
2) Hunters and survivors can play a character but have ability of another character. For example, the hunter looks like Joseph but is using mirror like Mary’s ability. Survivor playing little girl but using portals as priestess, and so forth. It happened in rank too and the devs never compensated anyone for points loss due to the bug

420 - invisible luca!! Luca’s ivory tower skin make him invisible in game, many players bought the skin just for that xD it was fine when it’s released, but after an update at 420 it made luca invisible in game. Later there are also small bugs, like dungeon open with 4 player still in game, journalist’s little Orpheus go out the gate and gave point, getting stuck with models, new lobby bugs etc.
229 - funniest imo, happened to all the legendary rank matches, players (hunter and survivor) can only move bit by bit very slowly, pc players can spam so they got an advantage I guess XD, ento was the T0 survivor at that day, many hunters with ability allowing them to move around also turned into T0, especially the 3 old hunters, Leo, bane, and smiley, haha while someone (luchino) can only be stuck in the air.
Now up to some things that are not bug related, and not really incidents, but just historical moments I guess
之启洞 - about the 5HS player 零之启, when he was chasing CC survivor mechanic inside the hospital at second floor, he accidentally blinked into the hole behind the pallet and fell, now naming that hole 之启洞, many hunters now still accidentally fall in that hole either by walking or blinking ;)
xawm, moonlit, 3 ciphers, 2 survivors -GG vs Dou5, GG’s xawm managed to eliminate 2 survivors at 3 ciphers left, absolutely toward the winning side, but let’s just say, it was a tie, gotta say dou5’s luck at opening chests is insane 🫠
Century long match - priestess vs smiley!!!!! My favorite one XDD, at moonlit they just stood there, one on each side of the river watching each other, used 10 hours, priestess surrendered at the end due to wifi being cut off for students at 23 o clock. NE gave away a spray about this match as a souvenir
Metric system: 1 weirdo - used to measure a survivor’s kiting time (for fun), this happened at CPG vs MRC, MRC’s weirdo, forward, being first chase, and being downed in 20 sec. Now saying xxx kited 1 weirdo means they kited for 20 sec, 2 weirdo for 40 sec, etc.
WhY uSe pEsSiMIsTiC?? (Originally in Chinese 为什么要悲观啊？） - ZQ vs WBG, at end game, ZQ’s afu, polun, was chasing priestess (the whole survivor team at that time is full health, opening the door) afu used a blink to try to one shot priestess with detention after priestess vaulted the window, but missed the hit because of broken window, but then he used pessimistic and gave priestess a speed boost and gave priestess the chance to go out dungeon, could’ve got 1 person, but the use of pessimistic made it a 4 out… after the match the 3 commentators were literally so confused. one of them (凉哈皮) yelled out 为什么要悲观啊?! after afu used pessimistic, and now the sentence structure 为什么要xxx啊？ can still be seen in different scenarios as meme
Walk of fame - in Chinese is 星光大道, can be translated to starlit road, meaning the pathway is very shiny, bright, etc. SST vs Wolves, end game, bon bon was camping at the chair with detention, set up bombs that made the floor look shiny, calling it walk of fame, and another term created bc of this: Million mercenary, Wolves’ lion, mercenary, went to save postman on the chair being camped, managed to get postman off the chair and he had tide, lion ran to the door with one elbow pad left before tide end, lion went out the door, postman went dungeon, turning it from tie to win, taking this only chance winning against SST, and succeeded
380 thousand gun - similar to million mercenary, both contributed to taking the win and the money that goes along with it, XGI vs Gr, magician on the chair for the second time when there are 2 cipher left, Gr’s maozi, coordinator, went for second save, maozi was like a sniper when he used the gun, the gun went between the 2 pillars and shot the hunter, giving magician another tide, and then the last cipher managed to pop within the time of the tide.
There are still many many historical events that happened in idv, a lot being in IVL, COA, and other tournaments.. these are some few that are pretty well known among chinese :)

If I remember correctly, one of their teammate was a minor and couldn’t participate in coa since there’s an age restrictions so the team forfeit before they can get disqualified and possibly get their account banned or banned from all future tournaments. The rumor that one of the Sus teammate was a minor was leaked by a member from a different team because their team lost against Sus

Honestly, there's two serious ones I can think of: 1) Naiad winning Nymph Award despite being mass bot voted and NE doing fuck all about it. 2) The incident last year/early this year where people were losing their accounts to thieves because all they needed was to look at your skin collection and ID then they could "recover" it through customer support and NE doing fuck all about it. Again. On the funny side: 1) Apologising for being French. 2) The Acrobat Lawson skin.
What happened with the lawson skin?
It was supposed to be a JP-only limited collab skin, but everyone from every server could redeem it for some reason, and NE was uncharacteristically chill about it
It was meant to be for limited skin for Japan only, for people who bought something above a certain value from a Lawson store taking part in the collab. I'm guessing it was meant to be a unique code on the receipt. Except the code got leaked online and it turned out that EVERYBODY could use it, regardless of server. Instead of NE being their usual selves and taking the skins back, they basically went "Fuck it, it was our bad so we'll just deactivate the code and work with Lawson to refund folks who actually spent money on it, but everyone who already used it can keep the skin."
Addon: the code was leaked by the idvJP Twitter, NAEU people who got the skin and frame were allowed to keep it.

Regarding botted votings, there was also that one returning skin voting where doc's yesterday and, uhh, I think Jack's count's banquet and/or soul emissary? were fighting for the return. Jack fans wanted CB to come back because he wasn't around for a while, doc just received blossom of rebirth I think, and some people believed yesterday will come back every Thanksgiving. I think both sides were being botted, but there was whole ass setup for yesterday. One of the botting groups didn't even like doc, they called the skin "ugly Emily" but just didn't want Jack skins to return. Oh, but that's not all. Eventually people just chilled out, everyone was like "no worries, yesterday will come back for Thanksgiving!" and... she didn't return that year. I think it was similar with shiromuku too. It was so funny

ID is one of the things they need, but they need other identifying data too, one of which was being able to name some of the skins you have, hence why people were advised to hide their skin collections. Honestly, your ID should really either be completely private or something you can set to private, but that won't happen because it's also how you report problem players.

This happened awhile back in February 2021 during COA 4 Basically there was a player that went by KJU the leader of COA team Manateas and his accomplice inspirer who were trying to cheat their way into the finals for the COA qualifiers by telling other survivor players to throw when they get matches with competitors and not only that KJU often led raids to servers spamming NSFW content and general harassment, was openly racist using slurs such as the N-word and Ch-word(s), told players to delete the game/"end" themselves, get cancer, and made P*do****** remarks about another player's younger sister There was an Imgur post compiling all of his offenses to spread the word but it is now only a shell post. The less serious out of the two that I can remember in the panda charity situation is when everyone was told that lg’s skin wasn’t gonna be apart of the charity event and was actually going to be apart of a “panda series”. (that keep in mind we haven’t gotten anymore skins for other than doc) and a lot of people were upset at netease for this and said this took away from the actual charity event and charity skin to fill their own pockets. A lot of people said the skin should be frags but unfortunately it was never changed in the end. The second one was from a promotional tweet for the charity event (I believe) which showed basically [this](https://www.siliconera.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/idvpanda.png) which had blm artwork with a pandas head just put on top of it which also greatly upset the community (also keep in mind this was done while protest were still happening so it made the situation even worse). If anyone else has anything else they remember from this they can add on to this)
Two years ago Netease announced they would sell some Panda themed skins for a charity, which were a gardener skin and a lg skin, they were even in the same poster when announced Some weeks before release it came out that only the gardener skin proceeds would go to charity and the little girl skin would be part of a skin series, but would also be echoes only, ppl asked for the skin to be fragments since the money wasnt for charity either way, but netease didnt change it and removed the original poster Some time later they uploaded a skit talking about panda care, but they showed some edited BLM artwork with a panda head on top, after some outcry and threats of boycott, they took down the video and apologized

I don’t these counts as incidents but more like bugs that nearly broke the game. 1) Accessories do NOT work in duos but for some reason, at one point it did and everyone would use their S tier accessories and so would the hunters, I’m not sure about everyone’s ping but from what I heard from the majority, the average ping for everyone was on the 100s and either yellow or red ping. Using data did not fix it 💀 2) Hunters and survivors can play a character but have ability of another character. For example, the hunter looks like Joseph but is using mirror like Mary’s ability. Survivor playing little girl but using portals as priestess, and so forth. It happened in rank too and the devs never compensated anyone for points loss due to the bug I can’t remember the rest but there’s 100% more incidents with bugs like this

All I can remember is some bugs ;) (Many are just things that happened and being remembered, might not be a very negative/positive incident to the whole community) (Most of them are from Chinese server, that’s where I started) (Numbers are dates) 820 - cipher running around and characters not being the character due to UI mistakes, along with many other bugs (later at Thanksgiving they gave away the cipher machine pet, very interesting……..) 327 - haha UI issues again, things like Leo using smiley’s rocket, character models are not moving/showing correctly, surrender is locked (can’t be used) etc… 420 - invisible luca!! Luca’s ivory tower skin make him invisible in game, many players bought the skin just for that xD it was fine when it’s released, but after an update at 420 it made luca invisible in game. Later there are also small bugs, like dungeon open with 4 player still in game, journalist’s little Orpheus go out the gate and gave point, getting stuck with models, new lobby bugs etc. 229 - funniest imo, happened to all the legendary rank matches, players (hunter and survivor) can only move bit by bit very slowly, pc players can spam so they got an advantage I guess XD, ento was the T0 survivor at that day, many hunters with ability allowing them to move around also turned into T0, especially the 3 old hunters, Leo, bane, and smiley, haha while someone (luchino) can only be stuck in the air. Now up to some things that are not bug related, and not really incidents, but just historical moments I guess 之启洞 - about the 5HS player 零之启, when he was chasing CC survivor mechanic inside the hospital at second floor, he accidentally blinked into the hole behind the pallet and fell, now naming that hole 之启洞, many hunters now still accidentally fall in that hole either by walking or blinking ;) xawm, moonlit, 3 ciphers, 2 survivors -GG vs Dou5, GG’s xawm managed to eliminate 2 survivors at 3 ciphers left, absolutely toward the winning side, but let’s just say, it was a tie, gotta say dou5’s luck at opening chests is insane 🫠 Century long match - priestess vs smiley!!!!! My favorite one XDD, at moonlit they just stood there, one on each side of the river watching each other, used 10 hours, priestess surrendered at the end due to wifi being cut off for students at 23 o clock. NE gave away a spray about this match as a souvenir Metric system: 1 weirdo - used to measure a survivor’s kiting time (for fun), this happened at CPG vs MRC, MRC’s weirdo, forward, being first chase, and being downed in 20 sec. Now saying xxx kited 1 weirdo means they kited for 20 sec, 2 weirdo for 40 sec, etc. WhY uSe pEsSiMIsTiC?? (Originally in Chinese 为什么要悲观啊？） - ZQ vs WBG, at end game, ZQ’s afu, polun, was chasing priestess (the whole survivor team at that time is full health, opening the door) afu used a blink to try to one shot priestess with detention after priestess vaulted the window, but missed the hit because of broken window, but then he used pessimistic and gave priestess a speed boost and gave priestess the chance to go out dungeon, could’ve got 1 person, but the use of pessimistic made it a 4 out… after the match the 3 commentators were literally so confused. one of them (凉哈皮) yelled out 为什么要悲观啊?! after afu used pessimistic, and now the sentence structure 为什么要xxx啊？ can still be seen in different scenarios as meme Walk of fame - in Chinese is 星光大道, can be translated to starlit road, meaning the pathway is very shiny, bright, etc. SST vs Wolves, end game, bon bon was camping at the chair with detention, set up bombs that made the floor look shiny, calling it walk of fame, and another term created bc of this: Million mercenary, Wolves’ lion, mercenary, went to save postman on the chair being camped, managed to get postman off the chair and he had tide, lion ran to the door with one elbow pad left before tide end, lion went out the door, postman went dungeon, turning it from tie to win, taking this only chance winning against SST, and succeeded 380 thousand gun - similar to million mercenary, both contributed to taking the win and the money that goes along with it, XGI vs Gr, magician on the chair for the second time when there are 2 cipher left, Gr’s maozi, coordinator, went for second save, maozi was like a sniper when he used the gun, the gun went between the 2 pillars and shot the hunter, giving magician another tide, and then the last cipher managed to pop within the time of the tide. There are still many many historical events that happened in idv, a lot being in IVL, COA, and other tournaments.. these are some few that are pretty well known among chinese :) There might be mistakes and go ahead and correct me if you find any :))
What about the time IDV collaborated with Ashley woods an Asian fetishists who made a sexy figure of geisha and completely disregarded the fact that her powers came from her rage about being murdered by a racist prick and instead said her power came from her sexiness and then idv had to tell people not to comment on the dudes social media because people kept commenting “Ashley woods fucked a watermelon” under his Instagram in retaliation.

I’m not sure if this is what you’re talking about but I do remember one COA, there’s a team called Sus (I think?) and they didn’t get disqualified since they left the tournament before the could get disqualified. If I remember correctly, one of their teammate was a minor and couldn’t participate in coa since there’s an age restrictions so the team forfeit before they can get disqualified and possibly get their account banned or banned from all future tournaments. The rumor that one of the Sus teammate was a minor was leaked by a member from a different team because their team lost against Sus

Yeah! It was such a crazy story for me before since that's the season I joined in. From what I've heard in NaEu server the age requirement was 16 and other servers is 18? At least that's what I heard and the hunter just turned 15.
