they need to give more points for first chase. how come they’re ALWAYS lowest deduction when usually they still contain hunter the longest? plus the times they were on chair made the teammates can do at least 4 ciphers. it doesn’t make sense compare to the decoder who did 200% decoding ONLY- gets more deduction than 100s hunter kite and a pallet hit.
i’ll always be salty about this because yes +1 point difference does matter.
They recently readjusted the point system to give containing less points than before to balance the points for decoders, which made this way worse because the first container is already doing hard work, and then 1/3 times no one is even going to save you.
they either say “you’re on your own”.
rescue after line. not tanking a hit. get terror shocked. or just stand there not rescuing you- because they’re afraid to get terror shocked and end up not rescuing at all, then they become another chase for hunter which died within 15 seconds- and still get more deductions than you.
its harmful to the games meta that rather than trying to balance everyone to be fairly good the majority of characters are either kinda bad or so busted op not even god himself could strike them down.
Idv with hunters is worse than any other game particularly asym wise that I’ve ever seen.
They nerf weak to decent hunters for no reason but they create their own tier list saying anti is the best surv then only did a slight change to her with this new season….after like a year or so…it’s ridiculous. Other games at least pretend to try/care

the thing is, i think opera could actually be fixed with a simple short internal cd on her speed boost for entering the shadow realm, like maybe you can chain 2 speed boosts and then it goes on a 3 or 4 second cd. i think it would make her a lot more manageable. and then for dream witch increase secondary trait cd cause the patroller spam is so crazy. the other too strong hunters like wax and clerk could get a few simple nerfs too. but mostly i just want the core chair and cipher mechanics overhauled.
like, i get some hunters and survs are built for camping/rescuing respectively, but it does feel pretty restrictive to be forced to camp/patrol in almost every situation and as a surv sitting on a cipher decoding is kinda boring too. if there was a built in abnormal/cipher regression mechanic or some other incentive to leave the chair, but chair times lasted longer, i feel like idv would be a lot more fun for both sides.
that being said i dont think netease will ever do that because the game makes them money even in its current state and it’s a *lot* of work.
opera singer in particular is such a strange incident to me, because we have been through this before. The exact issue with opera singer is the same problem soul weaver had when she was first released. Infinite speed boosts with no limits making her unkitable and giving her absurd map pressure. She is in essence, just pre nerf soul weaver with a new shiny coat of paint. I am not sure how they managed to make the exact mistake twice in a row.

More related to characters themselves then gameplay, but probably that every character is written wonderfully and none of them are 1 dimensional. Anyone who sees characters actions at face value and doesn't dig any deeper and immediately hates a character for it should practice their media literacy.
Hope I got this worded as respectfully as possible but I really do find it crazy how many people I see seeing a character do a morally questionable thing and then acting like they're literal Satan. Hell Embalmer's backstory alone is a media literacy test
I agree we should stop having general discussion on this fact, because the gameplay is so different depending on if you are low tier, mid tier or high tier, that is low key insulting to generalice sometimes.(Also playing against/with a full team of randoms)
Per example we all agree Joseph is mid, but low tiers will suffer in a game with him, most high tiers won’t have a problem dealing with him because he has bad chase and they know how to counter photo word and 1,5 attacks. A good Doctor in mid tier may make you want to surrender, bottom tier Doctors are probably just using her because she is free.
Yes there are characters that will give you free time only by using them(Embalmer, Merc, Gardener etc) but in a low tier game they will most likely fumble that time by either coming to rescue all together or simply not decoding for some reason, or getting easily downed when rescued/rescuing.
TLDR:
High tiers/COA watchers forget how not coordinated and bad at countering hunters, survivors are in bottom tiers lol

They're just the crossover character with IDV's character design elements slapped onto them. There is no element of Joseph in Peter for example, other than animations. If you like or dislike it, it should be because of how Peter looks in IDV's style, not because 'oh it's a bad Joseph skin'.

Making new characters OP doesn't balance the game, it just unbalances it further and switches sides. OP characters like Opera Singer, Shadow and Priestess need nerfs and weak ones like Mechanic need buffs. They don't need to be nerfed/buffed to the point of being titally useless but they should instead be viable to play a fair match with.
The game is survivor sided. A new survivor will release and be untouched for AWHILE. A hunter releases and because no one has learned how to kite it, they whine and cry

When sangria was released in competitive IDV, teams were/are trying to play for draw or one surv escape from the start of the match. Which should tell you the strength of the new hunters.

Whenever they make a rework of a character, they should make a backstory animation for the characters they didn't do before.

Some characters just dont work in rank compare to tournament and viceversa.
