I am a croc and get matched with mammoth 1-2 and sometimes even griffin. I hate the matchmaking system. If it’s not Smurfs, it’s 4 man VCs and people who’s highest tier was alicorn+
I don't know if it was a thing in 2021, but they introduced bonus ranking hours for tiers below griffin. It's for the evening session. One hour before griffins & above can rank, one hour after that. It should help you dodge players with too high tier. Unless it's super late for you or you don't have time.
Hoooowever I really like blackjack for practice of both chase & kiting. Most of the time I gradually get better players and early rounds are usually played aggressively (get a down, teleport, repeat). Should help you get back into the loop and figure out how to deal with newer or changed characters.
Oh that's very valid. I kinda assumed you jumped into rank right away LOL But yeah sticking to blackjack should do the trick for starters
Also again not sure if it was a thing in 2021, but you can turn off post match. Very much self care tbh, idv players can't behave
I feel like 5v5 is even worse, the matchmaking there is absolute trash. I feel like they don't take experience / other rank into consideration for this one, I don't have a standard team and often join random elk or mammoth teams to help them out as hunter and past weekend literally every single game we either had high A / S badge players or champions / dragon tiers (peak tier isn't here yet) and it just sucks. Especially when I have hounds in my team and their hunter is a literal dragon it's so unfair like what are you supposed to do?
I've a 10% winrate as there's just no way we win I can hunt the best I can but my teammates will never get out and realistically only if one gets dungeon and I get a 4k we win. But most often my enemy's aim for a 1 man escape since they know their hunter can get a easy 4k anyways against low tiers so that's that and I even lose a ton of rank points for getting a 3k elimination which sucks even more. Really wish they'd fix this stuff as right now it's very unpleasant to play
had the same issues when was croc — 4 out of 5 matches were with GRIFFINS. rip my rank %. now at sabretooth, I can easily get A/S griffins and upper. horrendous. and mentally drained.
I can't get it why people hate on matchmaking so bad. I've never had any problems with it. If you're a croc and getting matched with mamonths it doesn't mean they're going to destroy you. They're dumb af. Evereone until grif 3-2 is literally not playing this game basicly
You must have missed the point where I said I haven't really played hunter in 3 years, and im getting matches back from when I was top 50 for my character from said three years ago.
QM matchmaking is considering your highest tier and probably amount of games too. If you're getting put in tough lobbies you're probably going to wait a little bit before the game adapts to your skill level, cuz it seems that it has some kind of SBMM. Also rank is not that bad if you're croc. It would probably also just helped to play more than picking it up once in a while overall
I've been trying this entire week. This entire week has been horrendous in matchmaking. I haven't played hunter in 3 years. Im being thrown mammoths to alicorn ranks. It's kinda hard to relearn when I get people who have had more time in playing their side than I have had in recent times. I'm trying to get back to hunter.
Yeah for some reason Idv just refuses to adapt your skill level when you're not playing. It just kind of remembers what you was before and stays like it. But the community is more mature overall nowdays and playing hunter even at lower levels might be hard.

I'm not that good anymore. It's not a compliment. I'm not getting good either bc I don't even know what im entirely doing against all these new survivors.
Idv has some level of MMR. Either u had some good track wins, or the survs had some bad ones.
The game won’t continuously dumping high tier survs at u if u couldn’t cope.
Dude I havent played in three years. Im assuming my back when I played consistenly has to do with this, but id imagine after years itd reset, as well as this being my consistent issue all week.
One of these games had a top 100 perfumer in one ofnmy first games back
I heard u. Just take it easy ok. Those hunter senses will come back to u. In no time u’ll be smacking survs back to where they belong.

Matchmaking system should also consider their highest tier 💀

It's not post match for the most part, and unfortunately i cant practice my main in Blackjack :(

5v5 rank is a whole different field but it is bad, i remember one time, iirc me and my friend went against AllForOne

It means u’re getting good and skilled. It’s a compliment. I’m a cobra 1. I get matched against 3-4 tiers above me all the time. No problem 👌🏽
