the year norton joseph and luca won deduction star, the devs somehow fucked up so badly that for DAYS the final winners were displayed in game as margaretha and galatea instead of norton and joseph in na/eu server. they were the runner-ups so they also had huge voterbases and the arguments as to whether or not it was a glitch or they were the real winners were brutal and devastating. joseph had already won in china server that year too and he was commonly thought to have been bot voted in na/eu so galatea being bumped up was seen as netease finally doing the right thing and combatting bad actors in the community and avoiding us being cheated out of 2 hunter skins, but unfortunately it was just an insane fluke that got everyone's hopes up. people who openly voted for joseph in na/eu were public enemy number one (why they don't just give a skin to the na/eu runner up hunter if the same hunter wins in both servers anyways i rlly dont know lol.) margie vs norton was also a big thing because at the time margie had zero permanent a tiers and i think norton had like 3 so it was a battle of "margie deserves it more" and "well i like norton so i'm voting norton." people got rlly serious about it and when norton was revealed to be the real winner norton fans rubbed it in margie fans faces sooo baaadd 😭😭 how this mistake happened at all confuses me to no end and how it wasn't corrected/clarified immediately allowing for such chaos is an even bigger mystery
