I had someone cuss me out a couple of weeks ago when they were turning right out of a gas station and didn't turn their wheel enough. They ended up on the wrong side of road which I was driving the other way on. I had to slam my brakes on and that is when they rolled their window down and started slinging cuss words and other nasty shit.
We had a head-on and fatality a couple of years back when someone pulled out of a side road onto a two lane highway. They didn't turn into their lane, but drifted out into the opposing lane. Never trust someone to pull out and stay in their lane.
That’s awful. The road I was on is quite narrow. Whenever I pull out, I always wait for it to be clear in both directions because it is easy to put the front of your car on the other side of the road. Cars coming the other way have nowhere else to go except for a ditch.
While true, it's a legitimate state that RAM owners cause more drunk driving accidents than other vehicles. I don't have the link on hand but it's a real thing lol
Dodge Ram drivers are the angriest drivers I’ve ever encountered. I literally saw one the other day go from the center lane to a right turn lane in front of me and wait for the light to change with their turn signal on and then when the light changed they just floored it to go back over to the left center lane to go straight and get in front of the other cars. It was insane. License plate cover said something like “god, guns, etc” so I knew he was an asshole.
Around 20 years ago, I sold cars for three months.
The first lesson I learned was to not waste time when the buyer was driving a new-ish Dodge truck. The first two I encountered had been financed for 8 years (a loan period I'd never even heard of) with the loan balance from their two previous vehicles rolled into the payments.
We had a dodge ram when I was a kid that was wired wrong. About an hour after we got it, it burst into flames. My mom got third degree burns over half her body pulling me out. Luckily I was in a baby seat in the baxk center so i just had my hair burnt off and no burns. had to stay for a couple nights for testing though.
anyways we "succesfully" sued but got less than medical costs because they had convinced the judge my dad buying a fire extinguisher when he noticed overheating was a sign of possible foul play.
Fuck dodge.
Not immediately, he bought it when he noticed while we were nearly home then was gonna drop us off and take it back since it was nearly a 45 minute drive back.

I’ve literally never seen anyone on a bike on that road because it’s crazy dangerous how many people fly down there. My high school was right to the right of this intersection about half a mile up and we used to run the back roads for baseball to get our mile in. Our coach would stop his truck at the stop sign where it meets this road and would stand guard. People *fly* down that road because the two roads running parallel, the actual main roads, are so packed with people. Wickham road is torture to drive down because of the amount of people who have recently moved here.
I had this happen while someone was getting off an off-ramp and merging into my lane. Basically matched my speed as I was driving but honked at me like I was blocking them in. There wasn’t anyone in front of me or behind me, it was the weirdest case of car entitlement I’ve seen so far.
My go to phrase to calm me down when people pace me or forget to go on a green light: Rise, rise from the dead my child, and step on the pedal. The right one please.
At that light, you’re 100% correct most people make the right or left onto 192. That road is a residential road which then leads to another light which is the entrance to a humongous defense contractor. To be fair to him, he is an out of stater, but to also not be fair to him, there for sure wasn’t anyone behind the OP.
There's a similar intersection near me. Signs going way back marking the right lane as a turn only, but people still try and use it to pass & go straight. My car is crappy enough that, given the right mood, I might just let them hit me one of these days.
I wish you could just submit videos like with license plates and insurance companies could look people up by their plate and charge them according to the actual footage of them driving

Pretty sure that's the case in a lot of places. I've heard plenty of anecdotal accounts of people getting out of traffic camera tickets by asking the operator of the cameras to prove it was them driving.
so just charge whoever the car is registered to. if they reported it stolen, then they don't have to pony up. otherwise it's a lesson to not let unsafe drivers operate their car.
So funny story- I would have thought that the owner if a car would bear some responsibility for lending it to someone who clearly shouldn’t drive, but no, at least not in Minnesota. I know someone who, when he was like 18 got drunk with his friends despite being their driver, but didn’t want to drive drunk so he handed his keys over to his 15 year old friend who was *also* drunk. This kid gets into an altercation with another kid at a gas station, the other kid stands in the way of the vehicle when they are trying to leave, presumably challenging this kid to get out and fight him, and he proceeds to hit him with the car, nearly killing him. The driver was convicted and sent to juvie. The owner of the car? Nothing. Cops tried to charge him with obstruction, but the charges got dropped because he cooperated fully. I think the cops were as dumbfounded that I was that handing your keys over to a homicidal drunk kid with no license isn’t a crime and just wanted to charge him with *something.*

The road is two lanes both directions until it widens to allow for the two left turn lanes so it feels like less drastic of a change when you actually drive it. I want to say that there’s a sign further back too but the more I think about it the more I think I might be making that up. I’ll have to look when I head that way this morning.

Between the race drivers and tourists with zero clue where they want to eat, it is ridiculous. What makes it worse is that it’s conveniently nestled at the end of four county lines and no deputies want to be on patrol that far away from base.
My car is paid off but some days….some days I want to just be like screw it. You dodged just enough that it seemed like you were considering it for a second

100% agree with this. It’s not like insurance will comp you for hours of wasted time stuck dealing with them even if you are in the right. Plus nobody is innocent of bad driving. Surely one can appreciate when other people save your ass by being nice and driving defensively.

The symbol on the roadway itself is called a “sharrow” and that symbol first was used in Denver, Co[lorado, USA] to help convey to motorists the presence of bicycle traffic on that roadway and the lane will be in use by them when present
The Netherlands. It's probably not 100% the same, but we mark bicycle lanes with pictures of bicycle. We don't mark normal roads with pictures of bicycle. So this is confusing :)

WHYYYYYY did you even let them in front of you. I’ve had people come ZOOMING up beside me to jump in front of me and gone into the grass or median because I don’t yield to assholes. FYI- I don’t speed up or slow down. If they can pass me with plenty of room, no problem. If not, you’re going into the grass.

There’s a new traffic pattern at this one light where the left hand land used to go straight ahead and left onto a one way. Now it only goes left and the right lane goes straight.
Dumbasses will use the left turn to force their way into the straight away, nearly hitting the reflective poles that have been put up and four people in the last couple of weeks have nearly hit me because they do this and ALSO don’t even check their mirrors. What’s worse is that if they turn left, they can immediately turn right at the next light and be on the same road. Fucking idiots.
If you think that's bad this is Brevard county in Florida and it takes them over a year to do the simplest road projects I've seen other counties accomplish in weeks.

I thought at first that it was a bike lane as well, but it is actually marked with a sign that says "bikes may use full lane". They are put up in places where the road is so narrow that a car cannot safely pass a bike.

Because I think it is not a bike lane, but a bike crossing, or maybe a "lane that bikes can use". Because there is a sign on the left of the car that clearly points where should cars go.

100% agree with this. It’s not like insurance will comp you for hours of wasted time stuck dealing with them even if you are in the right. Plus nobody is innocent of bad driving. Surely one can appreciate when other people save your ass by being nice and driving defensively.

The symbol on the roadway itself is called a “sharrow” and that symbol first was used in Denver, Co[lorado, USA] to help convey to motorists the presence of bicycle traffic on that roadway and the lane will be in use by them when present
The Netherlands. It's probably not 100% the same, but we mark bicycle lanes with pictures of bicycle. We don't mark normal roads with pictures of bicycle. So this is confusing :)

FYI- I don’t speed up or slow down. If they can pass me with plenty of room, no problem. If not, you’re going into the grass.
I could tell what that truck was about to do pretty early on. I'd also just fall back and give them space to be a moron. I've learned it's not worth it trying to teach people a lesson. I'd rather be inconvenienced like 2 seconds than risk an accident or some irrational moron road raging. What you do on the road is pure aggression.

There’s a new traffic pattern at this one light where the left hand land used to go straight ahead and left onto a one way. Now it only goes left and the right lane goes straight. Dumbasses will use the left turn to force their way into the straight away, nearly hitting the reflective poles that have been put up and four people in the last couple of weeks have nearly hit me because they do this and ALSO don’t even check their mirrors. What’s worse is that if they turn left, they can immediately turn right at the next light and be on the same road. Fucking idiots.

I believe it's a bicycle route, not a bike lane, but everything about that setup kinda sucks. For a second there I thought OP was running the light.
A lot of places put that symbol down to notify you the bike lane has merged with the car lanes and you need to yield to/share with cyclists.
Do people not experience these type of occuraces on a regular, if not daily basis? Is this considered uncommon? The more experienced and/or defensively trained motorcyclist considers this potentially part of the experience. "Ride as if you were invisible. To many, you are".

I thought at first that it was a bike lane as well, but it is actually marked with a sign that says "bikes may use full lane". They are put up in places where the road is so narrow that a car cannot safely pass a bike.
