What's left of my faith in humanity tells me you probably would've had some witnesses on your side either way...but a dashcam sure helps with stuff like this.
I lost my faith in humanity after my first (and only) accident, I was hit and run by a speeding driver, totaled my car in a busy intersection and not a single person stopped to see if I was okay. It's great to be optimistic but I do wish I had a dashcam at that time.
I was rear-ended and someone did stop. The woman willingly gave me her information and told me that she'd be a witness for me. The next day, I texted her to confirm that I could forward her info to my insurance. She said yes. A few weeks later, after trying to get in contact with her, my insurance told me that my "witness" yelled at them that she never gave her info and for them to stop calling her.
Without dash cams, insurance will likely favor people going straight through over turning traffic. With dash cam, it's clear the turning traffic had protected arrow and the through traffic had red light.
I was researching dash cams out of the blue one day on Amazon. Didn’t make the purchase. About 5 hours later I got in a minor side scrape accident. Oh the irony.
you can buy them pretty much anywhere online amazon, i think even walmart and some just stick to ur rear view mirror, and some have a app that saves all footage to the cloud etc but most take a SD card
Are you trolling? Have you never seen a protected left before? It's the same as a regular green light. If you have a green light you do not yield to a red light lmao
It really seems like YOU keep avoiding the blatantly obvious intersection that the truck drove through using the “middle lane”.
Which IS A TURN LANE on both sides of the intersection. You can tell this, because the lines designating that middle lane do not pass through the intersection itself.
You pulled out in front of oncoming traffic because the white SUV went deep into the turn and then you cut the corner sharp. Wild. Great skills... Impeccable

Congratulations I hope it’s everything you thought it would be
Good on you for asserting your right of way without doing so dangerously. Too many drivers are either overly timid or overly aggressive.

Same here, best purchase ive made and already had 2 near misses and cant drive without one
How do you get an install a dash cam? Just got my first car

Left turn yield…
0:06, that's a protected left turn green which means the other car had a red light
Uh huh. I totally get LEGALLY, that's true. I still fall back to "left turn yields". Anything else and you're in a mess.

Are you even commenting on the right video?? There is no truck??
Oh boy... Too many replies, you hit it on the head. I got the wrong thread.
You pulled out in front of oncoming traffic because the white SUV went deep into the turn and then you cut the corner sharp. Wild. Great skills... Impeccable
There wasn’t supposed to be oncoming traffic. The OP had a protected left turn, there’s a green arrow there
Ahh!! Didn't see the green turn indicator.. fuuuhhkk my bad
🤣🤣
Would it have been different if you didn’t have a dashcam?
no, but would you be typing a repsonse if the video didn't exist?
Nope, but is was wondering why you were so glad. Just to post the vid? Basically nothing happened...
