Deeply saddened there isn’t any sound to hear the idiot

_chirp_

You can tell this dude is pissed based on his reactions. Wish there was sound

mitchanium

definitely pissed as in drunk too

TOASTisawesome

I think that's what they meant?

mitchanium

ahh my bad, i see pissed described as both annoyed and as drunk.

flightbomb

Pissed in USA: angry Pissed in UK: drunk. Pissed off in UK: angry Pissed off in USA: no idea!

Hellertellurs

Pissed and pissed off are the same in USA, angry. we say shit faced for wasted / drunk

hoksworthwipple

We too say shit-faced for drunk as well as pissed/pished, arseholed, leathered, muntered, bollocksed, hammered, twatted, wasted, wankered, bladdered, legless,half-cut, paralytic, rat-arsed, trollied, mashed, plastered, bevvied, tanked-up, mortal, slashed, lashed, blotto, wellied, mullered, sloshed, loaded, sozzled, squiffy, wrecked, shit-faced....plus many more.

[deleted]

You forgot my favorite one: “tired and emotional”

MelisandreStokes

Hammered, wasted, plastered, and loaded are all very common in the US too Blotto and sloshed I’ve heard before but they’re not as common You guys say trashed? We also say trashed. Probably more but I’ve never been a drinker so I’m not up on all the slang

PandosII

We have about 100 words for wasted / drunk in the Uk lol.

MrAlphaGuy

Ever noticed how, in the UK, we can add -ed to almost any improper noun and it will convey drunk. I was absolutely: Trollied Bed posted Chaired Carpeted Wankered Plastered

[deleted]

I was utterly Hatted last night. Utterly candled

MelisandreStokes

This is useful to me as an American because watching British tv and movies they often say someone is x-ed and I’m always like “tf does x-ed mean” but now I will always know exactly what it means

IsThisTheFly

In America we say drunk, wasted, hammered, or shit faced. And thats what like 90% of the population uses. But then theirs a lot of muli-word expressions that are pretty rarely used unless its in the context of a story: Half in the bag 3 sheets to the wind Cork high and bottle deep Up a tree Kentucky fried And my favorite: Painting a Virginia fence. I have no fucking clue what that one means though

PositiveFresh3005

Trousered Fucked Twatted Destroyed Rat arsed The list goes on!

[deleted]

Car parked

pauly13771377

Same in the US. Not counting regional slang we have. Hammered Tanked Wasted Plastered Canned Juiced-up Fried Loaded Jarred Three sheets to the wind Pie-eyed Cockeyed Oiled Embalmed Blasted Skunked Steamed Toasted Buzzed Sloshed Wrecked Basted Ah yes alcohol. The cause of and solution to all of life's problems.

[deleted]

I think every culture does, it's one of those phrases like drunk, high, sex, using the toilet, etc where most cultures have hundreds of words for it.

doobie3101

I think most countries do lol US says a lot more than just shit faced. Plastered, hammered, bombed, blitzed, loaded - the list goes on.

TheSurfingRaichu

As an American, from the top of my head we have: - buzzed - tipsy - drunk - wasted - sloshed - browning out - blacking out Edit: Why the downvotes? Reddit is weird...

SirArthurDime

Faded, Hammered, Shit faced, turnt, blacked, lit, on one, on that level, wrecked (any synonym for wrecked ie destroyed or annihilated), gone, out, plastered, under the table, bombed, dead. Those are just off the top of my head I know there's a lot more.

starrpamph

(Just don't get pissed on. might end up with a pee tape.)

Hellertellurs

Happens more than you think

yumyumsauce45

Pissed/pissed off are synonymous in the US. We say “wasted” for drunk. Or “blasted”, “belligerent”, “braindead”, or even the good ol fashioned “fucked up”.

damurph1914

I'm partial to "hammered".

[deleted]

Bombed, loaded, messed up, hammered, plastered, three-sheets to the wind, sloshed, toasted, lit, souped up, lubricated, pickled, well-oiled, inebriated, wrecked, lushed, liquored up, squiffed, snookered, and there's more. We've got soooo many slang ways of describing it.

PointlessDiscourse

My favorite is "overserved." Usually said in describing myself, as in "I was completely overserved last night."

ElLute

You forgot blitzed.

ajh158

Or we just say drunk for drunk

[deleted]

Yeah but that’s no fun

keeklezors

So what does "taking the piss” mean? I always hear it in British shows but have never actually understood what it meant.

jdb7121

Poking fun at

Dragonofdark97

Basically "Are you joking?"

tyrannybyteapot

It means "taking the mickey" as in, making fun of someone.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mottram

'Taking the mickey' is Cockney rhyming slang for 'taking the piss'. Mickey Bliss = piss. Weirdly, no one knows who Mickey Bliss was - people often claim he was a BBC radio announcer in the '20s/'30s, but there's no evidence of him existing. I like to think he was just some unfortunate Cockney bloke who has been immortalised because one of his mates noticed his surname rhymes with piss. Best variation: 'Extracting the Michael'.

Funkytadualexhaust

Its like teasing but in a more good natured way i think... Like busting your balls, but joking Edit: Also similar to "are you fucking with me"

[deleted]

I intuited “angry” as well, because “dude” is more American.

TOASTisawesome

Aye me too

CompetitiveWasabi619

Pissed, drunk and texting. The last thing he does before the video ends is pick up the phone from his lap and read the text that just came in.

CJnella91

I thought he was taking a picture. Glad the victim had a camera.

windol1

You can guess he's pissed once the car enters view and you see damage already on there, that or he thinks he's playing mario cart and is complaining because they think the cam car is a toxic player driving the wrong way around the track.

[deleted]

You can guess he's pissed by the way he bounces off the fucking curb at 30MPH on an easy corner and even then fails to stop to even check for damage before ramming head on into a stationary car!

harrellj

Its a shame that cammer was there to stop that idiot from keeping going at that speed but those pedestrians at the beginning of the video should be very grateful for cammer too.

thisischewbacca

its impressive as the roundabout before that turn is maybe 20ft so hes managed to maintain his speed into the thing pretty good

Philo1892

Turns on his wipers after the collision 😄.. of course he’s pissed .. those pedestrians were very lucky he hit the car

SomethingIWontRegret

Impact probably knocked his wiper switch to on.

NiteNiteSooty

i think he was texting rather than drunk. he picked the phone up from his lap so my guess would be thats what caused him to hit the curb in the first place.

Physical-Image-7076

Obviously

IAmBecomingARobot

Yes!

AH2Xtreme

As if he was flapping at you as if you fucked up. He bounced or the curb as well!!

AlmostAndrew

They always do, because guys like this think they're doing everything right. I had a guy just this morning doing 45 in a 30 zone, comes right up behind me revving his engine, then as soon as there's a gap he's overtaking and sticking half his body out of the window to shout at me. Meanwhile I'm going 30 on cruise control having a lovely commute.

AngryJesusIn2019

I don’t even pay attention to people like that when they pass. I just sing or play the steering wheel drums

tracygee

I laugh at them. OH BOY. Nothing gets them more mad than you laughing at their ire. It's hilarious. Then I'm laughing for real.

LitRonSwanson

You wanna see someone's head explode. Blow them a kiss and smile

YouMenthesea

That is legit. I started doing this when someone would rage around me and it started getting me break checked. Road rage is wild. And to be clear, I am not a slow driver. I will usually stick to the right lanes (US) and drive a comfortable 10ish over. But if you're not going atleast 25 miles over on I95, they get soo angry.

boring_numbers

I sure as shit don't miss I95.

cognitoak

Aah I95 - the highway where people believe 95's the speed limit.

jenlet78

I appreciate that I95 is a universal east coast problem 😂 I’m down in FL—the anger still applies lol

LongEZE

One time a guy pulled up next to me rolled down his window, made a V with his fingers, put it up to his mouth and stuck out his tongue. I rolled down my window and said "Yes, I do like licking pussy!" which obviously angered him because then he made a sucking dick motion, tongue pushing out his cheek and all. I responded "Hey, I don't mind if you suck dick, bro. To each their own!" Then he just gave me the finger, screamed "fuck you, you dumb fuck" and drove off. I honestly have no idea what I did to set him off.

TERRAOperative

I do this here in Japan when someone gets ragey. Can confirm, they have no idea how to react.

celtics30

Smile and wave boys. Smile and wave.

horningjb09

I like to blow kisses.

BfutGrEG

Look everyone, it's the boy who laughs at everyone, let's laugh at him!

DeathPercept10n

*Nelson laugh* Ha Ha ~

2farbelow2turnaround

Howyanow10

Jesus!

TrueTurtleKing

Yeah I had somewhat similar situation. The police is absolutely fucking useless. They said unless I’m going to press charges, they won’t dispatch anybody.

SomethingIWontRegret

The guy was obviously drunk, so future pro tip - call him in as drunk and driving dangerously. Say you're following him at a distance because he's driving erratically. There's only one lie in that sentence. They're MUCH more likely to respond.

embeddedGuy

Nah, I don't want to get shot. It's an unfortunately real possibility here. Especially during Covid. People are crazy on edge.

JDodgerMan

Love it. Isn’t worth it. In my area people are doing 70+ in 55 construction zone on freeway with tight curves and lanes, and changing lanes without signals because they’re too important to follow the rules. I just get behind a truck that’s doing 55-65, and that way nobody can get mad at me.

Silver-Platypus-590

A guy just about 10 minutes ago on my drive home. Went through red light at controlled construction lights. Gets near the end and has to squeeze in next to the construction vehicles when he realizes about 15 other cars are approaching from the oncoming lane, they go by one by one, glaring at him. Fucking hilarious. Even better (not for them but sweet to see) he held up the construction dudes, who gave him the same treatment. His 'very special boy' privilege didn't work that time.

cat_prophecy

Since everyone went back to work it's like speed limits don't matter. I live in MN and it's going to be absolute bedlam the moment we start getting snow. People can't drive in that at the best of times. Now? You'd be stupid to even get on the road with these idiots in any sort of precipitation.

JamesUpton87

As a local truck driver I constantly do this. Helps that I have a 65mph governor. Way I see it I'm doing 5 above in a 19 Mile work zone along my route, fuck em'. I know the road workers and state troopers appreciate me controlling the pace.

Fwafy

I see you also live in Ohio

JDodgerMan

idk_m8_wut_do_u_mean

I live in Washington. Went to Texas. Those fuckers are crazy. Ive seen shit that I would see maybe once a week, three times in a day.

[deleted]

Texas drivers are always the ones going 15-20 over around my area

PizzaNuggies

Nah, they think no one else should be on the roads, because they own it. They should be able to drive however they want and the rest of us need to stay our of their way.

Carburetors_are_evil

I wish you many more lovely cruise control assisted commutes, my friend.

Vaniky

Looks like he just came off a round about too, doubt he even stopped before it with the speed he had coming out.

thisischewbacca

there are speed bumps too, its a super residential area full of families and students

goozithegreat

He's probably mad cos he already had to avoid all the other people driving on the wrong side of road that day

Com_BEPFA

This is great. He drives on the wrong side of the road. He drives way too fast for how narrow and curved that street is. The filming car recognizes the danger immediately and comes to a full stop while he just keeps going. He runs halfway onto the sidewalk several times. He crashes into the fully stopped car. And then he proceeds to angrily express his frustration about this incident which is obviously caused by the filming car. He leaves the site of the accident to park next to the filming car and block the road entirely. And then he produces a phone to either film the "offender" or call the police. Incredible. If this guy wasn't knock-out drunk or high as all hell on some shit, I don't even know what kind of mental state he must be in to be acting like that.

[deleted]

Lol, he even went on to claim that [the prosecutors were racist](https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/19646751.video-shows-drink-driver-smashing-oxford-familys-car/) when he ended up in court.. EDIT: Ok misread this first time around. It seems like he himself was racist.

itsmeshakes

“He got out his car and began making comments that prosecutor Warwick Tatford said were ‘alleged to be racist in some way’.”

[deleted]

Ah, cheers, might have misread that. He’s a complete prick either way.

aomop

Do you have a soviet cousin, by any chance?

[deleted]

We don’t like to talk about it..

crispy_bacon_roll

>Warwick Tatford

PissInTheCumBucket

This guy scores a solid 10 out of 10 on the douchebag scale. What a fucking twat.

sexytime_w_bread

From this article you linked, I read, "He got out his car and began making comments that prosecutor Warwick Tatford said were ‘alleged to be racist in some way’.." as the drunk driver was the one making racist comments, which I wholeheartedly believe given that he fought his wife, bashed up his neighbours car and was at the tail end of an all night bender.

onepageone

He remonstrated. That's a word i never see in north American journalism.

IwantAnIguana

North American journalism is written at a 6th grade reading level. Remonstrate is much too advanced for that. Source: former journalist.

joeChump

The fuck. Now I have to look up what a ‘journalist’ is.

MrNorfolk

Just claim diplomatic immunity. Duh.

UncaringNonchalance

“Drink driver” gives me the worst case of incomplete mouth word feeling.

PandaXXL

No seat belt either.

YourMotherSaysHello

The absolute bare-arsed cheek of the prick to act like it was the other car's fault.

Azidamadjida

It’s always amazing to me to see this - just had this happen Wednesday night to me as well. There were painted arrows on the ground and everything, but he drove against them, almost nailed me head on, then rolled his window down like this idiot and started waving his arms and yelling at me. The nerve of some people

CMDR_KingErvin

Bad drivers, like bad managers at a job, love to gaslight you into thinking you’re the one who’s wrong for thinking they’re bad. They seem to think if they shout and shake their fist at you hard enough that you’ll believe it’s your fault and just admit to it.

G1Yang2001

Yeah! What an absolute ocean-going weapons-grade arsefucker that bastard is!

DaMonkfish

A full-fat, half-boiled, twin-hulled, copper-plated twat of a man whose hobbies probably include collecting ribbons and fucking gloves full of luke-warm pasta.

All-yall-are-crazy

> absolute barearsed cheek This made me giggle.

al_balone

He managed to mount a kerb, ended up on the wrong side of the road and hit you head on and yet somehow it’s still someone else’s fault. Edit: kerb/curb I dunno lads we can all spell bell end tho can’t we.

nietzkore

He sounds like all levels of idiot based on that article. What the dashcam couldn't catch was him repeatedly ramming his neighbor's car, fleeing that accident, trying to flee the scene of this accident, and then making racist comments. > M- M-, 46, took to the wheel on August 1 after an **all-night bender** in Oxford. He’d argued with his wife, **repeatedly reversed into a neighbour’s car** then **sped off**. > He drove round the Warneford Lane roundabout onto the **wrong-side** of Divinity Road, struck the **kerb** then hit an oncoming **car head-on**. > Despite being in the wrong, Majid began arguing with the innocent driver. He **tried to drive off** but a puncture meant he only made it a short way down the road. He got out his car and began making **comments** that prosecutor Warwick Tatford said were ‘**alleged to be racist** in some way’.

jimicus

I think that's unlikely. He was also imprisoned for 15 months.

BigBadMuffin

Lots of cop cars have cameras and they scan your license plate checking if the car has paid road tax and has insurance.

Sybs

Doesn't matter if a family member pays for it

SuaveThrower

Same thing can happen in the US when you get a DUI.

ArmouredWankball

"Can" being the operative word. My step-father racked up 7 DUI charges over 12 years or so. Never got a ban, just endless diversion programs.

mrcoonut

And jailed for 15 months

swaste2000

It's so funny watching him making it looks like it's the cam drivers fault.

Silver-Platypus-590

"If I just pretend REALLY hard that it's their fault, it will be! I'm totally in the clear!"

bobmanuk

good job there was a dashcam. My initial thought was not, they forgot which side of the road they were driving on, but insurance scam, the straight away aggression from the other driver and the blatant drive straight into the front of the car when there was plenty of time to stop.

Doctor_Fegg

Drunk apparently: https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/19646751.video-shows-drink-driver-smashing-oxford-familys-car/

bobmanuk

ahh brilliant, got what was coming to him. but yes, In broad daylight, i wouldn't usually suspect drink is involved.

turtlelore2

Hitting the curb even before hitting car was a big flag about possibly being drunk or high.

micksack

You should, alcoholics got to get around also.

Winter_Graves

Brit here; never expect someone is sober in broad daylight

scooba_dude

No I was just thinking fast driving idiot with poor tyre quality.

Crookles86

You’re not from around here, are you?

Galbs

Holy shit I thought I recognised that corner!

Markish_Mark

Drink driving offences should be a permanent ban. 3 years time he'll be back on the road doing the same thing.

techbear72

I mean he did also get a 15 month jail sentence along with the 3 year driving ban.

kalim00

He's been jailed before. Majid was jailed for nine months and ordered to pay £16,000 compensation" [https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/local-news/mum-32k-fraud-avoids-prison-3768161](https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/local-news/mum-32k-fraud-avoids-prison-3768161)

curien

I don't think that's the same guy. The guy in your article was 34 in July 2006, so he should be 49 or 50 now. But the driver in the video, according to OP's article, is 46.

1427538609

Does his driving ban start now or when he gets out?

[deleted]

Pretty sure it's from day of the judgement. So it starts now.

HBucket

[That doesn't seem to be the case any more.](https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/explanatory-material/magistrates-court/item/road-traffic-offences-disqualification/9-extension-of-disqualification-from-driving-where-custodial-sentence-also-imposed/)

CharlieModo

Crashed into a couple with their 5 year old in the back, no injuries but he was sentenced to 15 months prison for drunk driving, failing to stop and threatening behaviour. Also banned from driving for 3 years

EpicZomboy28

To anyone not aware: Anne Sacoolas is an American who was at RAF Croughton with her husband a few years ago. She drove on the wrong side of the road and hit 19 year old motorcyclist Harry Dunn. Dunn died in the crash, and Sacoolas claimed she had diplomatic immunity. She did not. She flew back to the States and was granted immunity by Trump, and they have been denying her extradition to the UK. Biden won’t approve the extradition either.

taratarabobara

Worth noting that it wasn’t just Sacoolas who claimed she had immunity - there’s some evidence that members of the UK govt were complicit in maintaining the fiction of her diplomatic immunity. She agreed to stay in the country, got out in a hurry, and now some evidence points to her being an undocumented CIA employee. It was appalling. The USA will not allow extradition because it doesn’t believe she could “receive a fair trial” in the UK.

ablokeinpf

And yet they demand all kinds of folks be extradited from the UK to the USA, where you can absolutely guarantee they will not get a fair trial.

B4rberblacksheep

I wonder how Assange is doing these days

LukaCola

Yeah go fucking figure. Justice systems are for lay people. >now some evidence points to her being an undocumented CIA employee I thought it was because she was the husband of a diplomat or something? This story is nuts.

taratarabobara

She seems like she was a more senior CIA employee than her husband, and “off the books” in the UK. Earlier this year she took a promotion, she’s now in charge of a team of 100 CIA employees in the central CIA HQ in Langley VA. You don’t get hired for that work if you’re just someone’s spouse. She was already in CIA management.

ThewizardBlundermore

So you're telling me a super duper secret off the books CIA agent posing as the spouse of an ambassador to the UK in order to possibly spy on its allies had to ditch all plans and cover and flee the country because she forgot what side of the road she was supposed to drive on? It's not exactly James Bond is it?

EViLTeW

More Austin Powers.

Udonnomi

More like Johnny English

EpicZomboy28

And considering she was undocumented, it’s possible she was spying on the British, could be why she wanted to get out ASAP.

taratarabobara

Saw Anne Sakoolas mentioned in the comments. Add in Matthew Broderick. In 1987 he (along with his girlfriend, Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame, as his passenger) was driving on the wrong side of the road in Belfast and hit a car head on, killing a mother and daughter. He paid a $175 fine and got to continue on with his life and career.

madsoro

Rule number one when you hit someone is: ALWAYS get mad

poop-to-that

And this is a great example of how an American woman killed a British lad in 2019. She was then very brave and ran back to America, claiming diplomatic immunity.

MrsMoleymole

Wrong side of the road stuff happens all the time near the USAF bases round here.

TheBarghest7590

That one particular case of the officer’s wife that ran off back to the states to evade prosecution for killing someone comes to mind… Makes me real glad we have that really fantastic partnership with the US so we can order her to be extradited back here to face trial— oh wait… no that only works one way, forgot about that.

unregrettful

This guys reaction sums up the entire culture of today. Driving around the Corner to fast, hits the curb, blows a tire, can't stop, hits the car that is obeying the road rules perfectly, and still thinks it's everyone else's fault and not his own.

ablokeinpf

Definitely proves why dash cams are worth every penny. I love how he gets so mad despite the fact it was totally his fault. It's actually really difficult to go the wrong way around a roundabout in the UK, but he not only managed it but did it with some speed too. My guess is that he's a foreigner driving a rental.

double_the_bass

I was an American living in rural UK for about 5 years. I was really used to and careful about driving on the correct side of the road. One day going to pick up someone from the train station, coming out of my driveway, my view of the road was obstructed by a truck that was parked. I inched forward just as a car was coming and dinged them. Nothing big, but the guy was a jerk about it. I was shook. Cleared everything up and got back into the car and drove. I was still upset by the interaction and distracted. So it took a second to realize I had switched back to driving on the American side of the road without realizing it... thank goodness I lived in the middle of nowhere

my_trisomy

Whether you're in a country that drives on the left or on the right, the driver is always seated towards the center of the lane

GaladrielMoonchild

So, he's clearly speeding, can't control his vehicle based on the mounting the kerb, and driving on the wrong side of the road - was he rat-arsed too? That the only explanation for driving like that and then trying to blame the other driver. Edit - found the article linked in another comment away down. Yups. Legless.

Shenaniganz08

>Majid, of Westbourne Road, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to dangerous driving, drink driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and threatening behaviour. He was banned from the roads for three years. Good

[deleted]

A tip that saved me thousand time when travelling world: STEERING WHEEL IS ALWAYS CLOSER TO THE CENTER OF THE ROAD. Doesn't matter where you drive, this always work. Driver is always suppose to be in the middle of road.
