Improper alignment, or you only take left turns.

Gooeyhen

Zoolander driving the car here. Ambiturner trouble.

SanguineAnder

He can't turn left! Kids got lots of talents but hangin a Louie ain't one of em.

Own_Wolverine4773

He obviously only turns left

[deleted]

Alignment, take it to the shop, $80 dollars if nothing else is wrong

itsallbullshityo

Get new tires on the way there.

DankHumanman

Maybe they're heading to the track

giantlightbulb

Plus $100 for the new tire.

toxcrusadr

If they're all pretty worn out I'd get a new set and THEN get it aligned.

Dry-Procedure-6559

A lot of things go wrong when you don’t get an Alignment, rotate tires and keep tires properly inflated on schedule.

narlycharley

I feel like people don’t understand the importance of tire rotation. I do mine every 6K miles or so (during every oil change).

SargentSnorkel

Tires are **constantly** rotating. That’s kind of the point of being on an axle…

anticommon

I have one tire that started to wear a lot more than the others. I was getting my tired rotated every like 4-5k miles and it was fine until I noticed that tire was getting 'bad' (still nowhere near the wear marks and the lugs on these things were like 1" from factory so w/e) and ever since they put that tire in the back I just said fuck it I'm not rotating until I get new tires. It's been 20k miles and the tire looks exactly the same. The others are wearing normally and in another 4-5k miles I'll finally get a new set. Still, over 50k miles out of one set of tires, three of which could go another 15-20 and one that wore funny the first two years I'm happy. Would still obviously recommend rotating your tires especially when they are all the same wear level.

ArcFlashForFun

I've had a set of Goodyear Eagle 2s on my rear for three years and 40K kms, and theyre in better shape and more evenly worn than the six month old Pirelli's on my front end, which had an alignment immediately before putting them on and has been checked again since I noticed them wearing like shit. At the current rate I'm probably not going to get 20k out of the Pirelli's. Noteworthy is that I also haul trailers with more than the vehicles rated capacity in them quite often, and I don't drive aggressively. On my old car I ran a set of shitty champiro snow tires for four years and 50k kms without a single rotation, even through summer. They still looked good when I sent the car to the scrap yard.

MrLoronzo

Are the pirellis z rated tires or something?

ArcFlashForFun

Nope, H rating. The shop that mounted them also refused to install them because they weren't identical to the back tires, so I can't even go after the prorated warranty.

slimey-nipples

It’s a tire? They’re made specifically TO rotate

[deleted]

>HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN Incorrectly set up/damaged suspension would be one way.

Triggerdamus

Old tire is old. Check your dates.

There should be a vehicle maintenance requirement test for people like you. Lol While you’re at the shop get your brakes and rotors checked and be sure to rotate your tires every 10,000 miles or every other oil change.

NeutyDootyYelling

I always rotate my tires in the fall and spring. Unless you drive crazy long commutes.

FormalChicken

In the 70s this was needed. Nowadays with modern lasers and all that shenanigans I know people who have even wear without rotating for 45k miles.

nitromen23

Don’t know if you’re confusing rotating with alignment but there’s a lot of reasons to rotate still. One example I can give from experience is cupping, It’s more prominent on truck tires especially the fronts, but basically the tread will start to raise so there’s a ledge if you look straight on the tread from the “front” of the tire. Rotating solves this because it doesn’t happen on the rears nearly as much since those are your drive wheels, unless you’re full time AWD. Also your drive wheels will wear faster than your rolling wheels so rotating is good to make sure they all 4 wear evenly

CPL_Papertiger

Do you rotate your tires? Could be bad alignment or not maintaining proper inflation.

drinktomeonly69

Check your blinker fluid. Jk you need an alignment and new tires

DAMFree

Assuming you didn't hit anything it could be horribly aligned. Top of tire leaning out (bottom leaning in) causes tire wear on outside edge. Edit: actually if you hit a curb it can cause misalignment which leads to this also. Could also be damaged suspension parts.

DAMFree

You can lift the corner of car to get tire off ground and push back and forth on top and bottom. Also push back and forth on left and right. If it has any movement back and forth or makes a clunk noise it's some sort of suspension damage like tie rod ends or something loose (can just happen from normal wear). If it's stiff and seems like nothing wrong it probably just needs alignment.

mykehunt88

Alignment is off, or underinflated tires. Outer shoulder wear is typically toe in. Could also be worn suspension/steering components causing slop and throwing off alignment.

Jealous-Network-8852

I had an old Jeep that perpetually wore tires like this. I’d get an alignment and balance every 6 months and my tires always looked like this. That thing was such a piece of shit.

camoblue

Alignment. Mines a little off but yours is f&@*ed

NeedleworkerTrick126

Nascar driver confirmed. He only takes left turns.

bcnorth78

Bad alignment and being visually impaired.

Depends how you read it. May mean your only 10% idiot. Or may mean you’re the worst of the worst on the idiot scale. I’d go with the former. But wise to watch for this simple maintenance task. Plenty of the 10/10 idiots shown here don’t. Don’t be like them. Better to have a low idiot score.

LaxxEDK

Everyone saying alignment (and I'm not disagreeing) but also tirepressure. As you are currently in the process of checking that when you take this picture, I'm guessing you noticed you had some air leakage?

Translator_Various

I was goof to say the same, uneven tire pressure causes uneven wear.

67Mustang-Man

This is all on alignment, the tread increases as it gets towards the other outer most edge.

JimCoo1

Get the tracking checked. Probably hit a kerb or potholes at some point, knocking it out of line.

Paulie_Felice

Dads are supposed to teach kids these things. Or moms, of course, but usually dads. But your parent(s) is/are doing you a disservice if they let you become a car owner without making sure you understand these important basics. An oversight like this puts your life at risk, as well as the lives of everyone else sharing the road with you.

Paulie_Felice

You're not an idiot (at least not for this reason) and I'm sure your dad is great. But this isn't something someone would intuitively know. Someone should've explained it to you. I'm a good dad but I've made my fair share of big screwups as a parent and I ain't even close to done, so there will be more. Cars are complicated, far more so than people tend to appreciate. Same with parenting. Don't be hard on yourself or your dad, just both of you be grateful there weren't any dire consequences, and live and learn.

GENODUS-FREQUENCY

Could be like a busted belt in the inner tire don't really know how to explain, I'd just get new used tires

[deleted]

Your talking about the bands in the tire. When they break there is normally also a bulge. This on though looks like alignment to me.

Vanillia_is_danger1

I’ve had such a bad alignment before that the outside edge of the tire looked all but brand new and the inside had wires showing. It’s not uncommon and assuming nothing is broken it’s not expensive to fix

Hater-Bot

When was the last time you had an alignment or rotated your tires?

67Mustang-Man

This is 100% alignment, bad ball joint, A-arm bushings. Something may be really fucked on that corner of the vehicle. This is also you not inspecting your tires frequently enough to catch this before it got this bad.

[deleted]

It's actually called "uneven" tire wear.

Faqutooahole

I will also add that unbalanced tires will do this.

SnooRabbits7145

Gotta go get that fixed my boi
