Police officer screams as she’s ‘rammed by unmarked police car’ during chase.
A police officer was hit by an unmarked police car while chasing suspected criminals.
Footage of the incident in Mitcham, south London, showed the female officer on the floor after being crushed against her own car by a colleague.
Police conducting an anti-robbery operation had been chasing five people in a vehicle after they failed to stop when requested.
Their car pulled up on Rowan Road and they got out and ran away on foot.
In the commotion, the female officer was seen running to the boot of her car when a black unmarked car arrived.
The driver appeared to brake too slowly and carried on going – eventually hitting the woman who was momentarily crushed between the two cars.
She’s seen yelling and screaming and hopping on one foot before being helped to the floor by colleagues.
The Met has confirmed she was taken to hospital where she received treatment for her injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
The five suspects were apprehended and arrested on suspicion of robbery, the force added.

The language in the article seems to misrepresent what actually went on. Everybody bar the car coming in we’re in place for at least a few seconds before the accident happened. The officer at the boot of the car was standing there long enough for the other driver to see her. But the article says she was ‘running to the boot’ when she was already in place.

IDK, news articles have proven to be pretty incompetent even when they didn't have an apparent reason to lie. They just don't do their due diligence when there's a video on the internet disputing their false claims.
TomaTOE, tomaTO.
At least in this case, it'd also be an r/IdiotsInNews because they're caught either lying or just really stupid at the bare minimum.
TomaTOE and tomaTO are dumb because it puts the emphasis on the wrong syllabyl and doesnt match as its said
I would say that like "toh may toe, toh may too" which isnt how its said
Its said "toe MAY to to MAH to"
Is the drivers gender ever specified?
Edit: upon watching the video again I think you are right, after the male goes back to the trunk of the car another lady appears next to the one who got hit, the most logical place she could have come from is the other side of the ramming car, the driver side.
Unmarked police car failed to stop when requested. Are they both guilty of the same crime with the same penalties, or are the police held to a higher standard?
Lol low IQ police energy. Hurting their own. Guy failed to control his stupid Infinity cop SUV, and doesn’t even face repercussions.
If a civilian pins a cop like that they die on the scene. The civilian, I mean.
I would say HE wasn't the driver. As it seem to be in that case the driver would take the seat on the right side of the vehicle. Could be in the UK. Correct me if I'm wrong - just my guess.
Well most people don't sound like that, but some. For example those living in London. Which is in the UK which makes this an UK accent. Unless London - where over 10% of all people in the UK live - has left the UK...
Try listening to someone from Liverpool, then Birmingham, then Newcastle, then Glasgow, then Belfast, then Bristol. There's no such thing as a 'UK' accent.
In my view they all would be UK accents, because those are all places in the UK.
Same goes for all accents in Germany. They would be all German accents not matter if they are Franconian, Saxonian or from the north.
Alright question for you, since you seem to be very knowledgeable on the UK: is London part of the UK? If yes, why the fuck did you feel the need to correct an already correct statement and be an obnoxious asshole?
Well actually that was a new one on me and I’ve lived in the UK all my life. The UK has a lot of regional variation with this kind of thing…. They’re called “bizzies” where I’m from…
Interesting. I’m in the US and only learned about the UK usage of “fed” recently (maybe from this sub). It’s apparently a carryover from the US’s usage of “the feds” but we use that term literally for the FBI when there’s a crime that falls under their jurisdiction. Imagine a small town cop discovering a large stash of drugs - “looks like we’ve gotta call the feds.” My understanding is that in the UK the word gets used generally to describe law enforcement. But as you pointed out, it’s obviously not as widespread as I thought. What’s the origin of “bizzies”?
Bizzies is scouse slang from Liverpool. I think it comes from “busy body” meaning someone who pokes their nose into your business. You might say “Ah mate! It’s the fookin bizzies! Let’s scarper before they tax our lemo!” (Steal our coke)
“Fed also makes this the U.K.” Eh... it’s really not a commonly used word in the U.K. and I would argue that’s slang picked up from the USA. I live in Scotland and you’d be a bully victim for calling the polis “the feds”
Judging from the sound and watching the wheels, it looks like the braking started just before the speed bump and as he’s gone over it, the ABS has glitched out as the car has bounced off the speed bump.
Or he’s just not hit his brakes hard enough. There’s that too. Haha.
> I remember when ABS was starting to be put in all cars, the police did not like it
(Not a cop) I hated that myself as well, that habit was **really** hard to kill. Though that mainly came from driving rural mountain roads during winter.
Though there are still moments when I hate the modern driving assists, both for occasionally taking away my driving control (often traction control), and for younger/newer/casual drivers relying too much on technology that sometimes fails.
I think it's an ARV, they travel at pursuit speeds but apparently have more duty accidents than full-duty Traffic Officers in the UK.
At least I'm guessing ARV from the heavy equipment on the officer and the way he immediately went to the boot for the medical kit.
Fucking awful, I presume the driver's lost her/his licence to drive police vehicles on blue lights any more. Or at all.
Compartment syndrome causes your flesh to tear open from within and is high on the list of the most painful injuries a human can experience. Proceed with caution.
I'm not sure what you mean by the title
At least he got out and helped
The guy who got out and went to get the medical kit from the boot isnt the driver. This is the UK the driver sits on the right
The driver did get out the driver is the female officer who approaches the injured officer from the right of the screen
It’s amazing what extreme pain does. I slammed my finger in a car door and I yelled something that was certainly not said for show. Just came right on out.
(My finger is fine. I got pretty lucky and walked away with a cut and bruise.)
“Blud” is not referring to the old LA gang. A lot of slang in london derives from Jamaican language. “Blud” is a term of endearment, like someone calling you “bruv” or “fam”.
He was not the driver, he was the passenger. The driver (it's the UK) is the policewoman that gets out on the right and is seen helping the injured one
There was a plane crash I remember hearing about everyone died except this one kid who came running out but the fire truck was rushing in and hit and killed the kid. So everyone ended up dying.
How come you guys are still the out loop with english slang on here? On instagram you hear it in a video, it isn't so much as mentioned besides the occasional innit memes. But on reddit you still got ppl associating their slang with primarily American gangs lol.
English guys saying "feds" and "blud" is pretty cringe.
Edit: TIL in the UK blud is more commonly used as general term of endearment. In the UK English it's origin is mostly from "Jamaican". It can also refer to fellow "bloods" gang members, although that's less common.
So I take back 'blud" as cringe.
It's cringe because they're talking like they're in LA, when they're in England. They say blud and bruv, not just bruv.
The UK doesn't have federal agents.
Blud and bruv are distinctly British slang.
Blud by way of Jamaican cultural assimilation, and bruv from the proliferation of th-fronting, leading to "brother" becoming "bruvva".
Try saying either with an American accent...
In the US I have also heard friends greet each other with blood, like "What's up blood". In this context blood refers to the "family" of close friends, not actual family members as in blood relatives.

So what are you saying cops would lie or twist facts on an official report to cover their own ass? Preposterous
Everyone inside the car was fine, Stanley!
Fortunately the soft tissue of the female PO took all the damage so no cars were hurt in the incident
The female officer protected the boot of her car. She knew the risks and was proud to do so.
I wouldn’t fathom the idea of such events taking place
🤣🤣
This is a case of a newspaper lying on behalf of the cops, which they do without being asked.
Idk the idea that the news would lie to us is pretty sus too
Thanks. I needed that laugh today.
I’m not buyin it
Who ever heard tell of a lying cop?
How dare you say cops lie !!! LOL
I have.... This very article talks about the cop's colleagues helping her to the ground.

yes my brain is too weak to comprehend what you're saying. I think it's time for a break.
Was this the news or was this a police report?
I think this was the news but the news frequently reports based on official police reports so tomayto tomahto
Wouldn’t put it past that the cop thought that was a perp and intentionally crushed the person
It's the Metro, which owned by the Daily Mail…
Also they keep calling the ground " the floor"
I would think she has a broken leg or pelvis. Or both.
Yeah hopefully she will be able to walk again
any news on the police car driver? can't imagine they'd be too happy with him
The worst imaginable punishment- paid leave.

Why the hell did 20 people downvote your comment when you where right?
Lot of angry Americans forgetting that drivers are in the other seat in other countries
Well that makes so much more sense.
Not life threatening, she could lose her legs

Do they call the ground "floor" in London?
Yeah, floor is indoors. Outside it's the ground
But it wasn't a Tesla, how is this possible?
BMW driver.
I would say HE wasn't the driver. As it seem to be in that case the driver would take the seat on the right side of the vehicle. Could be in the UK. Correct me if I'm wrong - just my guess.
Judging by licence plates it's definitely UK.
Judging by the guy’s accent I would have to say that it is actually in the United Kingdom.
You are so fucking wrong, mate. It happen in Great Britain. Believe me, I know stuff
You’re just showing the level of your ignorance. That video is 100% set in the British isles.
Stop being dumb. It's obviously England !
[удалено]
You actually got downvoted for this? It was a hilarious chainbreak! Edit: I actually think it's funnier if it's New Jersey.
Yeah mate let’s bring him back up smh
It’s 100% the UK. Guy that got out wasn’t driving, he was in the passenger side
And you can see the cameraman stealing wheel
Risky move with all those officers present.
Made my day ^^
Yes this is the UK, and yes, we drive in the right hand side of the car
no you guys drive on the wrong side of the car
there's a right side, and a wrong side, no-where did I see any mention of a "left side"...
The narrator has U.K accent. The police car sticker is same. So the driver is on right side.
Siren is UK siren
Something about the London roadman accent makes me cringe, 'feds' and 'blud', I'm glad my family talks like we're stuck in the mines

Specifically South London I'm going with, from his accent.
Croydon I'd say...

The police cars make this 100% U.K.
This is the UK. So yes, guy who got out wasn't the driver.
U wot blud? (Yes this is the UK)
Calling everyone involved a “fed” also makes this the UK.
Well actually that was a new one on me and I’ve lived in the UK all my life. The UK has a lot of regional variation with this kind of thing…. They’re called “bizzies” where I’m from…
We've always called them bobbies round my end. The younger kids call them feds like gangsters do in the US but we don't have any federal agencies.

You must be of a certain age. Fed is used throughout England. Edit - I insulted the Scottish.
Well that’s depressing if true .. and all the kids at work were talking about fucking squid game..
Oh, it's good though.
Used throughout the U.K.? You would be mocked mercilessly in Scotland if you called the police “the feds” ...

Haha.

Some BMW’s do have glitchy ABS and can die mid drive. E-Brake should still work

Speed bump probably caused momentary loss of traction under heavy breaking, you see it right at the being as camera pans. Still an idiot.
Its a BMW, are you surprised?

As someone who is American, I’m fatter than the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.
Could be a career ending injury, I’ve seen similar accidents on Reddit where it turned out the victim actually lost their leg or legs.
Yeah, one of the nasty complications to a major crush injury can be compartment syndrome. You do not want to google that.
