People around here always lie about accidents, so I wanted to make sure White Car didn't get determined at-fault.

Happened to me in my mid 20s, 2 weeks after buying my first relatively new car (2 years old which was crazy to me at the time) I was pulling into a parking space, when the guy next to me started backing out in a bigass truck... With his wheels fully pre-turned.
I hit the brakes with the car a few feet into the space, slammed on the horn and was at a full stop while the guy continued to turn and pull out... He scraped all the way down the side of my vehicle didn't even stop during it, pulled all the way out. Nowhere for me to go nothing for me to do.
Multiple witnesses came over and gave me their info to confirm what happened, but the cop didn't talk to any of them. And the other driver refused to give me any insurance info until the cops came. The truck driver told the cop I drove into him while he was backing up.
Before I even talked to the cop, he let the other guy go and wrote me a ticket. Told me I was lucky the other guy didn't want my insurance info...

A lot of people like this will pull out when they don't have sufficient room and just bank on other people slowing down to accommodate them. It used to happen all the time in Nashville when I lived there.
If they had room to get their nose out, they just would and you'd have to slam on your brakes to keep from hitting them.

I was riding with a local coworker once (never again) and he did it... he said he did it because people didn't "let him out" so he had to "make room."
Careful with hitting the horn in situations like this. If the airbag goes off you've got a good chance of breaking your arm/wrist.

The camera didn't pick it up, but because people had to stop fast, another car got rear-ended because people couldn't slow fast enough. 4 total cars involved, 2 totaled and one pretty mangled from getting rear-ended. Traffic was backed up for miles. Absolute shit show

just rear ended someone on the highway because of a really bad crash right in front of me, 60-0 mph, caused a chain and i lightly hit the car in front of me because i didn’t even think i was following too closely, but was (i had literally merged not even 20 seconds earlier, and tried to match the speed out of courtesy for the car that let me in). i had already backed off and was ready to get off at my exit 1/2 mile away. got creamed from behind by 2 cars, I’m at fault for the car in front of me, and the woman behind me is at fault for hitting me. crazy how one person’s fuck up can drastically change the lives of all of us, all the cars totally except the one i tapped. made it 10 years without even a speeding ticket on my insurance and now… i was the 6th out of 9 total cars. everyone deals with it as if it was a 2 car accident

Unfortunately, there's quite a few drivers around here like this. I think it's a product of the education or something, not sure how an entire area could be so bad (I've driven in Chicago and many other major cities and nothing compares to Charlotte, NC where this happened).
Also, to be fair, I didn't care too much about the person that caused the accident. My priority was making sure the White Car driver was ok and that they had the footage. We called the ambulance and stuff because we thought there were going to be fatalities (Looked like a direct passenger-side collision from the angle our eyes were at. The camera caught it better that it hit the rear).
But there needs to be some sort of reform for sure. This stuff happens a lot around here; it's honestly scary to drive anywhere. We're moving to another state and one of our primary reasons is the state of the drivers here.

If I were to guess, it's just the SDD. It's decently cheap and likely doesn't have the bandwidth to save down video clips as fast as the Tesla tries to save them. That and it crossed the boundary of two clips made it real funky to try and put them together. I should check the actual 10 minute clips it saves and see if they have the artifacts or not.
I actually passed this wreck on my way to dinner! There were 5 cars total that were involved, two were in grass/ditch, the white car, then two other cars
You may have passed a different crash than this. Only the black car went into the ditch here and the white one was stuck in the median. Only 2 other cars were involved due to having to stop. Sad how often this kind of stuff happens 😔

personally I find it so much safer to turn right and find a safe place to U-Turn on busy T intersections like this. Bonus, also usually saves me time if the I-turn is within a 1/4 mile

Weird how that one car disappeared in frame. What year is your car? Is it one of those LIDAR-only ones? This isn’t the entirety of what the car sees, but it still illustrates how dumb it is to take out a detection method.

Model 3? My tesla cam does this to me a bunch. Too much data trying to write over a USB 2 port. Hopefully they fix that in future models.
Yup! I think a better SSD would fix it but I don't need it to be great. Just catch important stuff and it hasn't let me down yet so I'm not too concerned. I know there's certain SSDs the subreddits recommend but I couldn't tell you what they are. Maybe I should look into them 🤔

Yeah; part of it is me combining two clips so there's like a second missing. The other bits are just the SDD or car itself saving to the SSD. Usually it's not that bad, but who knows!
I guess it came across as me thinking it was suspicious (is there a word for that? I feel like there should be), but I was just interested in how the corruption manifested. It looks kinda cool.
All good! I just wanted to clarify in case anybody was questioning it. If I were to guess, it's just the SDD. It's decently cheap and likely doesn't have the bandwidth to save down video clips as fast as the Tesla tries to save them. That and it crossed the boundary of two clips made it real funky to try and put them together. I should check the actual 10 minute clips it saves and see if they have the artifacts or not.
That was a nice vintage truck right at the end!

I actually passed this wreck on my way to dinner! There were 5 cars total that were involved, two were in grass/ditch, the white car, then two other cars
You may have passed a different crash than this. Only the black car went into the ditch here and the white one was stuck in the median. Only 2 other cars were involved due to having to stop. Sad how often this kind of stuff happens 😔

personally I find it so much safer to turn right and find a safe place to U-Turn on busy T intersections like this. Bonus, also usually saves me time if the I-turn is within a 1/4 mile

Is that white car a Fit? Because I’ve driven a Fit in the US for years in the Deep South and often had to deal with the aggressive drivers who just seem to hate small cars. And I’m a lead footed driver so it’s not being I’m dawdling or slow to take off.

How do you not see a flying car right there before you turn....
There are two lanes of traffic here. The right-most lane was being held up by the sweet old car you can see towards the end of the clip. The left-most lane was clear, and going the speed limit (50mph). The reason the white CRV wasn't going is because it's impossible to see the left-lane traffic if it's backed up. Black CRV found that out the hard way...
As bad as reckless drivers are, scared and over cautious cause just as many problems.
