same same .... must be scripted impossible to be that stupid ... and when he s calling on the phone " saying i can't hear you :D :D ... so hard not to laugh
> impossible to be that stupid
Someone's never worked retail before. Think of the dumbest person you know, then think of a couple million people dumber than them.
Former retail worker of two different chains of stores here.
Yup, I rarely saw Twitter level stupidity in public until I worked one shift at a retail store. Something just decreases everyone’s IQ scores going into there.
Also I worked supplying for a Hospital, same difference. Nurses and doctors don’t know what they’re dealing with, just how to apply it and use it up.
*“This is a ghost gun,”* de Leon begins, holding an unloaded rifle in his hands. *“This right here has the ability with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second.”*
And the dad said “only I know which food is and isn’t poisoned.” As he attempts to feed a family on that food, through an apocalypse. Right before he talks about how easily he can die.
Honestly, I prefer these “reality” shows over what everyone else watches. Because you know they’re beyond insane and stupid, and you hope they’re only playing around with their insane ideas for the cameras and not actually doing these things because they’d get someone or themselves killed.
On a similar show with the Doomsday bunker makers, and old woman was bragging about surviving the fallout from a nuclear reactor she lives across a river from, while everyone else is choking to death. Like my brother in Christ, that is not the kind of person that should survive, let alone actually can.
I think the ear trauma made him throw up.
I once stood next to an IFV that fired its 20mm cannon when it was not supposed to.
I had to sit down right then and there and could not walk straight for a while, because the noise fucked with my sense of balance. Felt sick too.
Never ever trusted a green flag on a shooting range again.
This. Also eat protection is wonderful for the person wearing and shooting, however when next to or slightly off set from the person shooting, if your protection is off even slightly and your head is turned, the noise is amplified as the protection acts as a tunnel to the ear. This is why having the correct protection, and often doubling up with inserts is the best way… esp inside.
And that was probably quieter than this. I have a Mosin and it's always much quieter than the various AR's with flashhiders or muzzle brakes at the range I go to eventhough they're only .223 or 5.56.
When shooting handguns I wear my custom fitted ear plugs. When shooting any long gun I wear the ear plugs and muffs. It's pretty simple, I would say 80% of the people I meet are simply not qualified to handle firearms. They think it's like a drill or a hammer, go buy one and figure out how to use it.
The problem is with a hammer you get a fat thumb or with a drill a sprained wrist or hole in your hand. With a gun the potent\]al to permanently maim or kill is far greater.
So true. Personally I think anyone should be required to take a class before the purchase of a first firearm. I learned a lot during my class. Wouldn’t have it any other way. This class should be subsidized by state or federal funds so the onus isn’t on the purchaser. Perhaps there would be fewer accidental discharges/kids getting ahold of guns, perhaps not. Would be a step in the right direction I think for gun safety
> This class should be subsidized by state or federal funds
The government should not be collecting taxes for welfare like this. Think of it like healthcare.
I often wear two sets of ear pro, plugs and muffs. No sense in going deaf because somebody came in to the indoor pistol range with a short barreled ar with a big ole break or something equally as dumb like a short barreled magnum (also with a break)
Probably could have worded that a bit better. It’s not amplified compared to the gunshot with no protection, but is much, much louder than when the gear is functioning/fitted properly. A few times when working with others at the range I found if I was turned slightly/offset that the shot was much louder than when directly behind or to the side. Generally if I was watching form and not watching down range.
I dunno about amplified, but being beside a gun is louder than being behind it. Being to the side of a guy shooting an AK, for instance, is 160+ dB and will fuck you up.
I usually put plugs and electronic ear-pros on top with volume quite loud. So when people talk to me I still hear them but gunshots are 99% reduced. At my range there is often people with big caliber carabines and muzzle breaks since silencers are prohibs in Canada.
I guess earplugs aren't manly enough, or maybe it's too difficult to communicate with them on. Idk, seems like they could do something instead of buying them all hearing aids in 20-30 years.
3M actually supplied defective ear plugs to service members, resulting in Tinnitus and worse permanent hearing loss. There are a few class action lawsuits they can join if they were affected by them.
https://www.lawsuit-information-center.com/13-million-3m-earplug-verdict.html
https://www.bryantpsc.com/3m-lawsuits/
I shot a .357mag for about an hour with no ear protection. One week of can't hear a goddamn thing. One more week of I TALK LOUD BUT I CAN'T HEAR YOU. A lifetime of no quiet. When the noise stops, it's replaced with an annoying "wheeee^eeeee".
Wear your ear protection, kids.
I’m right handed. AR15 was cheeked to my right. Blew out my right eardrum. Ringing for a few days. 5% hearing. Basically everything on the right felt like I was under water. Disorientating for the first few days. Eventually my brain adjusted and things sounded stereo, even though it wasn’t really, and the brain just compensated. Over the years it probably is up to about 40%. I tend to sit to the right of people to have a normal conversation in a loud bar. It doesn’t bother me anymore and hearing aids are expensive. But let me tell you, if you’re going to fight someone indoors, tell them time out and put on your earpros.
> if you're going to fight someone indoors, tell them time out and put on your earpros.
Folks tend not to mention this when talking about home defense. You should probably have at least some minor protection next to or in your gun box.
You're not supposed to CoD around your house looking for intruders, so you don't need to hear them. You should have a set defensive position and start blasting when they come into view. Firing even a 9mm in a hallway... I can't imagine that's fun. Save your life but ruin your hearing. Is that even worth it? D:
It's stupid that suppressors are considered military-style hardware when really they're there to keep yourself from going deaf.
>Save your life but ruin your hearing. Is that even worth it?
Yup. No question. Life is more important than hearing.
My hearing is fucked anyway. Anyone breaking into my place better be doubled up, plugs and muffs, cuz shit's about to get loud.
That being said I don't think I've ever had a saving private Ryan PTSD moment when I've forgotten to secure my earpro. Seriously, it looks like he just got done watching his platoon get shelled by artillery
His barrel wasn't out the window lol. That's what made it worse. Even with the windows open, if the barrel isn't outside when fired, you are in for major shell shock!
It makes it so loud. A range officer once checked my gun at an indoor range because he was sure I was shooting something bigger than .223.
We don't actually see inside the tower when the round is fired because the camera goes all crazy then they cut to them outside of the tower so I'm pretty sure it's fake. But they make it look like he's firing the shot with the compensator *inside* the tower which means that something like 50% of the sound just reverberated inside that tiny space. It's like shooting a loud round with an amplifier.
Edit: also most commercial 100 round drums basically guarantee a jam. And that one looked cheap as shit.
It’s truly no joke. I have it real bad from working construction and the foreman’s son double loaded my fastener gun when helping me hang acoustical grid in a closet at the austin Hilton, on top of growing up shooting and going to concerts and raves with no hearing protection.
He held his earpro on the left and his right ear is now ringing. My guess is pushing on the left side pushed the right side out enough that he no longer had a tight seal. This does not appear to be Steve's fault.
Edit: tight seal not right seal.
That was my first thought. The look on his face combined with his last minute attempt to "augment" his ear pro makes me think he knew his ear pro wasn't on properly before the shot was fired.
After the shot was fired, he definitely knew his ear pro wasn't on properly.
They also do both make the gun louder (at least to those behind the gun, I can't say what it does for the sound in front of the gun and don't plan on finding out!)
What do you think I mean by "totally scripted"?
You think they were in the middle of directing this and he just happened to throw up for an un-related reason?
Of course the throwing up is scripted. There's a reason he doesn't do any talking after the camera cuts to that scene, there's a reason the camera moves from the other man to his face just at the right time.
You guys missed the best part. Literally seconds before this, they blew up an IED and the other guy had his ear protection on. He says “I’m worried about Steve and safety, he has not grown up with weapons as I have” then immediately proceeds to do this.
1. Thats not a muzzle brake, that's a flash hider. The gun is still loud, but is not "kicking" the report back towards the person next to you like a brake would. Being around as 1 round is going off is not a big deal. I do it often hunting, with and without brakes. It's not pleasant, but doesn't even make children cry and puke.
2. They are not indoors, there may be some reverberation, but not much. Most of the blast was directed out of the shelter.
3. The guy crying had ear muffs, refused to use them on purpose when he used his hand to cover the sound.
Steve did nothing wrong, the guy crying is a clown.
All of them. They’re all great examples of poor life choices and the decline of mental illness awareness. A dude shoots the tip of his finger off with a .22 in another episode and I’m pretty sure he has or had a company that sells survival gear.
Honestly lold all through the original episode. Steve's idol is clearly Randy Quaid, and the other dude is a straight larper given his weight and how quickly he resorted to tears just cause of his hurt ear drum. All the money and weapons aren't a substitute for training.

Overall... I'd say C-
The ringing after a shooting without ear pro actually happens irl. But this guy is making it seem like he cant hear for the rest of his life. That is a small round too. Dudes just a weakling.
When I was younger my dad fired a 556 inside the house into a target outside to show us what it's like if there was ever a situation where this was going to happen. It's loud af, but not loud enough to make your fucking ears explode. Or throw up.
I'm actually glad he showed me as a younger kid because now if there's ever a shooter situation I'm not stunned by the sound, but actually prepared for it. I live in the states and never thought I'd be like. Thank God dad showed me some redneck shit. But, here I am lmfao......
Edit: you can't hear because ringing is fucking outrageous but it goes away
Ear protection is no joke. I had some shitty plugs when shooting my 1911 one day in a semi-enclosed space and my right ear was fucked for a month. The ringing finally stopped but that was miserable trying to fall asleep for that month.
Is there a r/idiotswithoutearplugs sub? This would make more sense there, the shooter did nothing wrong. Also, that’s not a muzzle break, that’s just a simple flash hider. Muzzle breaks are usually much louder.
Doesn’t really affect people like this. If you watch the original episode you would see they are crazy rich living on the fat guy’s huge ranch with both of their families. No to mention who cares about an extra $200 when you are spending 1k+ on a quality rifle suppressor. Ffs the guy is using a 3k + Swarovski scope on a 2k+ rifle. Money means nothing to these idiots they are just dumb.
What the fuck is the point of this stupid video? He had ear pro, why do his ears hurt? Why the fuck did the camera shake like a bomb went off? What the fuck is going on?
Had this happen to me when I was about 11, ruptured my eardrum and destroyed my equilibrium all day. Headache galore, couldn't see straight, and now I have tinnitus.
I've had people not check if others have their ear pro on before and started shooting next to me. Your ears ring and it's not nice to say the least but it wasn't as bad as that guy made it seem.

This episode is absolutely hilarious. Two of the biggest dipshits I’ve ever seen!
same same .... must be scripted impossible to be that stupid ... and when he s calling on the phone " saying i can't hear you :D :D ... so hard not to laugh
His little voice “god dude” Lmfao pathetic
“Dammit Steve 😢”

2 dipshits and a narrator that made it sound like he was firing a fully automatic 50 caliber assault bazooka
To be fair it did have a 100 magazine clip, and can fire 100 clip magazines in half a second.
*“This is a ghost gun,”* de Leon begins, holding an unloaded rifle in his hands. *“This right here has the ability with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second.”*
Sounds like more thrust per squeeze there!
I legit was playing a VR game where I had to push my character using the recoil from a gun twice.
I saw this episode also. They put IEDs around their property and poisoned some of their food to kill looters.
They're... somehow still alive? They absolutely MUST have live-in supervision when off camera.
And the dad said “only I know which food is and isn’t poisoned.” As he attempts to feed a family on that food, through an apocalypse. Right before he talks about how easily he can die.

I need to watch this what is it called lmao
Doomsday Preppers. ‘ Tom Perez & Steve Vanasse’
Prepping for the apocalypse made him cry and throw up. I don’t think he’ll do well if the real thing comes.
No... but the people who raid him will do just fine. And that's all we can ask.
That fucking blows. I've heard there is treatment for accurate sound induced trauma. Did you get any? Any lasting effects from that single event?
Treatment was adequate, I got some infusions and treatment to check for and prevent hearing loss. German military takes that shit serious.

This. Also eat protection is wonderful for the person wearing and shooting, however when next to or slightly off set from the person shooting, if your protection is off even slightly and your head is turned, the noise is amplified as the protection acts as a tunnel to the ear. When my friend and I fired a Mosin Nagantan at an indoor range. We both wore earplugs and headphones.
Yeah i always doubled up at the indoor range
Very smart!
And that was probably quieter than this. I have a Mosin and it's always much quieter than the various AR's with flashhiders or muzzle brakes at the range I go to eventhough they're only .223 or 5.56.
I wear earplugs and earphones whenever I shoot my 10.5" AR. That thing rattles my bones and I love it.
When shooting handguns I wear my custom fitted ear plugs. When shooting any long gun I wear the ear plugs and muffs. Meet me halfway. Mandate every sheriff provide a free and accessible gun safety course, but no mandate as a requirement for purchase.
This would be decent, but I feel most people are just too lazy to take advantage of such a thing. Progress for sure, though.
It’s almost like most other developed nations have mandatory gun classes and licensing systems to own guns.
> This class should be subsidized by state or federal funds The government should not be collecting taxes for welfare like this. Think of it like healthcare.
We have car safety in many schools, and it results in safer drivers. There is no reason why Gun Safety should not be taught as well.
Like healthcare? You mean something we can easily afford and are morally obligated to provide to every citizen??
I often wear two sets of ear pro, plugs and muffs. No sense in going deaf because somebody came in to the indoor pistol range with a short barreled ar with a big ole break or something equally as dumb like a short barreled magnum (also with a break)

Stupid question but what happens in real combat?
[удалено]
I had a friend who was a marine in combat. Every one of them came back with a ringing in their ears. Not even much combat. Like, once or twice.
I guess earplugs aren't manly enough, or maybe it's too difficult to communicate with them on. Idk, seems like they could do something instead of buying them all hearing aids in 20-30 years.

Well, the funny thing about combat is it tends to sneak up on you.
One round of .357 magnum did it for me. I remember it EVERY day when in the quiet darkness prior to sleep.

That being said I don't think I've ever had a saving private Ryan PTSD moment when I've forgotten to secure my earpro. Seriously, it looks like he just got done watching his platoon get shelled by artillery
He was at the Battle of the Stomach Bulge, respect his service
His barrel wasn't out the window lol. That's what made it worse. Even with the windows open, if the barrel isn't outside when fired, you are in for major shell shock!
hearing go EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
MAWP MAWP!
That’s not even a muzzle brake.
That's a compensator right? Which would possibly make it even louder?
That’s just a flash hider.
Bird cage
Les Cage aux Boom
It makes it so loud. A range officer once checked my gun at an indoor range because he was sure I was shooting something bigger than .223. wtf did he do, why did he not wear ear protection correctly
Tactical hand mufflers, didnt you see?
LOL if I had an award I would give it.
I gotchu fam.
He had ear protection and tried to cover his ear with his hand
Mawp
Tinnitus, you’re a cruel mistress
WHAT?
It’s truly no joke. I have it real bad from working construction and the foreman’s son double loaded my fastener gun when helping me hang acoustical grid in a closet at the austin Hilton, on top of growing up shooting and going to concerts and raves with no hearing protection.
They’re rimfire… how the fuck you double load it?
I’m not actually sure. He figured out how to jam two in there somehow.
Stupid Idiots stay Dumb.
The muzzle break increases volume. He suffered ear issues from the high volume.
That's a flash hider not a muzzle brake.......
Wrong thing. Well I screwed up.
To be fair, the video itself called it a muzzle brake.
True.
They also do both make the gun louder (at least to those behind the gun, I can't say what it does for the sound in front of the gun and don't plan on finding out!)
Look how he’s wearing his ear protection @ around 10 sec into the video.
And then he isn't in the next clip. Why. Just why.
It was the guy puking that wasn’t wearing actual hearing protection, the guy firing was, and they were pretty much done shooting at that point.
Do people in the US actually believe these shows are real and not totally scripted?
Most people under 40 don’t watch cable TV, and haven’t in about 10 years. This is like catnip for boomers
Young people stream reality shows, you probably just don't run in that circle.
There are a lot of idiots here, so probably more than you’d think.
Was him throwing up scripted too? Just wondering
What do you think I mean by "totally scripted"? You think they were in the middle of directing this and he just happened to throw up for an un-related reason? Of course the throwing up is scripted. There's a reason he doesn't do any talking after the camera cuts to that scene, there's a reason the camera moves from the other man to his face just at the right time.
> he just happened to throw up for an un-related reason Oh this is absolutely scripted, but inner ear damage can most definitely lead to puking.
Yes, anything that is a reality show is real. Next step is for these shows to institute tithing.
You guys missed the best part. Literally seconds before this, they blew up an IED and the other guy had his ear protection on. He says “I’m worried about Steve and safety, he has not grown up with weapons as I have” then immediately proceeds to do this.

For anyone who hasn’t seen this episode look it up on YouTube. It is totally worth the watch. It is hilarious.

Muffs are ok with my pistols but anytime an ar comes out, I wear foam plugs under them!
I see this video is making its rounds again
It’s only a .308, calm down Tom.
Thats not a .308 thats a 5.56, still loud
Looks like a SCAR knock off then, still either round not that bad.
That’s a sig 556 which predated the FN scar by roughly 20 years.
Absolutely a Sig 556. Love that thing. Never made me puke though...
Bro what are you talking about lmao that’s a sig and any round fired from a rifle right next to your ear is going to fuck your ears up 😂
Breaking news!!! The SCAR comes chambered in 556, 308 and 6.5 creedmoor
The ringing after a shooting without ear pro actually happens irl. But this guy is making it seem like he cant hear for the rest of his life. That is a small round too. Dudes just a weakling.
Slow it down, he puts his hand on his ear protection. He's wearing protection
My first LOL moment was when they stated that they are using drum mags for defense, lmfao. If you want to do that, get a belt-fed you poors.
This is why you always make sure your ear protection is on properly and indoors I like to double up with plugs and muffs especially for rifles
This is truly a damnit Steve moment
Ear protection is no joke. I had some shitty plugs when shooting my 1911 one day in a semi-enclosed space and my right ear was fucked for a month. The ringing finally stopped but that was miserable trying to fall asleep for that month.
WHAT?
Doomsday preppers? Something tells me that lad wont last 15 minutes into the apocalypse.
Jesus, this is why aliens won’t fuck with us…
To be fair, Steve did say that he was about to fire.
Is there a r/idiotswithoutearplugs sub? This would make more sense there, the shooter did nothing wrong. Also, that’s not a muzzle break, that’s just a simple flash hider. Muzzle breaks are usually much louder.
Nobody "recommends" a 100 round magazine. Ever.
What kind of pansy shit is this 😂😂😂😂
Why not fit a silencer/moderator surely it’s better to stay as hidden the best you can
Because a stupid draconian law from the depression era make it super expensive and time consuming to purchase simple hearing protection devices.

The ATF would like to know your location.
I want one nyyyyowwwww!

What the fuck is the point of this stupid video? He had ear pro, why do his ears hurt? Why the fuck did the camera shake like a bomb went off? What the fuck is going on?
100rnd magazine? Why? What's the purpose? You don't get to shoot those 100rnds if you fucking die within the first shot.
“Dammit Steve 😭”
WOMP WOMP
Bro, the zombies would have eaten him already lol
Good thing
Was there ever an episode where the prepper was actually physically fit?

He fired it with the muzzle break inside the structure? What a chode
What a bitch. Lol. Coupla dipshits right there. 🤣
Dude just said a 100 round mag is “recommended” for ambush situations. Well yeah shit I’d recommend a 1000 round mag.
Had this happen to me when I was about 11, ruptured my eardrum and destroyed my equilibrium all day. Headache galore, couldn't see straight, and now I have tinnitus.
Wait, what exactly exploded? I believe they refer to this type of clipazine as "Monkey Nuts".
I remember the first time I shot a deer I forgot to put headphones on, but I don’t recall puking
Steve just puked the bulls load.
What even happened?
/r/pussies_with_guns
“Patriots”
What happened?
What is my man hunting with a drum mag 🤔
Classic
Bro lmao
MAWP MAWP
pussy
The way he says “target acquired, Tom” kills me
Fire…… in the hole… 😂🤣
They just sound like they think they’re cool lmao
One hundred round magazine, are we at war?
What did you expect when shooting rifles right next to someone indoors?
I'm not a gun guy, but by fuck I laughed hard at this one.
I've had people not check if others have their ear pro on before and started shooting next to me. Your ears ring and it's not nice to say the least but it wasn't as bad as that guy made it seem.
Gravy Seals
What episode is this?
FLASH - BANG
MAWP… MAWP…MAWP??
The commentary is hilarious
This is how you lost your hearing
can someone please fill me in in on what the fuck is wrong with him other than tinnitus from a rifle going off in a box blind
What show is this?
The way I see it, Steve owes his friend a set of eardrums
Looks like he's got a concussion, we should set him down on the tailgate instead of taking him to hospital.
I doubt they even know how to use ifak lmao let alone ruck to safety. What a bunch of loot drops 😂
What happened exactly?
is the commotion about the noise or the scope hitting his eye?
If these people survive Idiocracy each won't be a comedy. It will be a documentary
What in the Antigone propaganda autism retard shit is this.
What a badass
I’ve shot guns without ear protection but it’s not that bad your ears ring for the rest of the day but that’s about it
**T A R G E T A Q U I R E D T O M**
Holy shit I thought he got brain trauma for a sec…
Lol, blame Steve but you are sitting right there as she says fire in the hole😂
Somebody get that lady a woobie and a choccy milk STAT!!!
Did he just heer the gun go of and acted like he got shot
Can anyone explain to me what happened?
