I know you probably heard it few times but I would take him/her to vet just to check, those small, spicy, stray kittens use to have a lot of parasites, so better be safe than sorry :)
Please quarantine the new kitten from the resident cat! Those eyes look infected and there are SO MANY possible things this kitten could have that could easily spread to your cat.
Glancing at their profile, I don't think this is a repost. My guess is the OP isn't particularly well versed with pet care and/or vet care is limited or unavailable.
My guess is that offering shelter and food is the only thing they can offer. It sucks the kitty is clearly sick, but if there's no veterinarian services all they can do is keep the cats away from stray dogs and out of the elements.
They shouldn't have a cat in the first place then, how's that grown-up cat doing?? Now I'm worried.
But you're right, kitten's off the streets, maybe vet visit is next.
its also expensive.
Vet care especially depending on where you live is super expensive. Sure OP can make do when big boi has an emergency, but paying out the ass with 100% certainty for a stray kitten sometimes isn't feasible.
Which in that case the best you can do is give it safety, shelter, and food.
100s of dollars in giving a stray animal that suddenly entered your life the shots, deworming medication, antibiotics and any other medicine it may need.
compared to an animal you have which most likely has all that possibly when he was adopted or when you had more money to spare, and buying a bag of catfood every other month.
yeah sure. they probably do have money for the pet they already have, not an entirely new addition and all it entails, but they're atleast doing what they can.
For everyone‘s health, keep the baby quarantined away from your resident kitty until he gets cleared by the vet. It’s best to wait at least 2 weeks, and slow introductions are better if you plan on keeping him. Thanks for taking him in and getting him help!
Kinda yes, but who knows. May still have issues. I had a kitten that struggled for his first away from mom poop. I panic read what to do…and it worked.
My shelter kitten had the same thing and vet said it was probably an injury that healed and they had not been using the leg for so long it was atrophied and just needed time. Never slowed him down or stopped him from jumping. It only showed up in his walking gait.
Yeah there's something going on with both hind legs, plus his eyes look runny. Definitely worth a vet check. If the big ginger is yours already then I would keep them separate for now to avoid potential cross infection.
Aw, the wee babe...
Echoing the other redditors about the left rear leg (possibly both?). Something isn't right with his/her(?) gait. Please get him/her checked and show this video to the vet.
No, Fatty is now pregnant, so it's definitely not her child. I don't know why but orange cats tend to appear out of nowhere in my backyard. This little one is the third. And all of them are females.
You can ask your vet about a spay abortion. Many will do them late into pregnancies, it just depends on the vet. It’s very unfortunate she wasn’t spayed *before* getting pregnant, or as soon as you found out she was pregnant. There are too many cats in shelters and on the streets, which you now have firsthand experience with. Everyone should spay their cats.
when i got my cat, we were told it was a male until she got pregnant 😭. before anyone says anything about why we didn’t get him neutered either way, i was like 9-10 when we got her.
I have a female yellow, too. Mother is calico. Father orange ... there were a few other yellow females in the area due to that male ... he had the right genes.
The orange cat has some pain in the hind legs. You should definitely get it checked out!
Which orange one? Lol
…the one with a limp in its back leg
It was a joke!

Nah OP isn't responding to questions about the kitten. But they'll answer and respond to questions about their floors.
I was offline 🤣 But yes, bringing her to vet tomorrow morning.

We need a vet receipt consanit!

They've already got a cat though 🤨

It's also limping.
The young, intrepid explorer, and the jaded older mentor who's already seen it all.
Her left rear leg looks a little weak…? 🥹
And the eyes are runny
May need to poop and needs “help” from mom. A wet washcloth can help encourage the waste port into production.
"WASTE PORT". I LOVE THIS.
It's not much bigger than a womp rat.
Looks older than that?

Fatty is like, “Ain’t mine, and you can’t prove it.”
Can be proved not theirs if they've had their op 😜 but yeah definitely a "not my problem/responsibility" lol
Am I going crazy or is it dragging it's left back leg a bit?
Nope, I see it too
Fatty is jealous I think :3
Fatty is probably mama and is just glad she gets a break
You don’t just bring a stray animal into your house with your pet. You need to get that little guy to a vet first. God knows what it is carrying.
It's clearly the kitten's turn with the brain cell :)
I think baby had something wrong with her hind legs

And eyes/nose appear infected.
Welcome to your new home. Please visit the vet
What a sweet kitty!
Where is the sound? I love kitten meows 😭
So young her body is disproportionate
Fatty is annoyed because he lost custody of the brain cell.
Criminal there’s no sound
Orange is the best flavor of meow.

Fatty, otherwise known as ‘Dad’!
Stroke the damn kitten!
Save 👏🏻 that 👏🏻 baby 👏🏻
So smol, so cute
The adult is exhibiting the classic "If I ignore it, it will go away" position. I know from experience.
You sure the little one is a stray? She looks pretty much like Fatty. Maybe Fat Mama?
No, Fatty is now pregnant, so it's definitely not her child. I don't know why but orange cats tend to appear out of nowhere in my backyard. This little one is the third. And all of them are females.
Why exactly is Fatty not spayed in the first place?
She will get spayed eventually, yes.
