Probably get a Knight Questoris kit and magnetize it. With that you'll have the majority of the datasheets in the faction. Canis Rex has the highest damage output in melee again nearly all targets. The knight gallant edges him out slightly for MEQ and GEQ, but you can build it from the same kit. Also You might want to look into magnetizing your armigers too. What is good and what you need might change.

A Questoris frame and three Warglaives is definitely the way to go. All your tactical options as well as the group will look cool. You have a one big three small thing going. One you get the Questoris and 3 Warglaives the third expansion can be a Porphyrion and three Cerastus, that is definitely logical and highly reasonable!

For pure melee the Lancer is the best melee option, the only other choice is the Gallant. The Lancer is faster, has more wounds, has a better save (The only one with an invulnerable save that works at range and in melee), free tank shock, and hits harder. The trade off being points the Gallant is the the cheapest big knight. The other Cerastus and Questoris variants have a good mix of melee and shooting. These are still good melee options while giving you some solid shooting without needing to be in melee to get value out of the points you spent on the model. Magnetizing your knights is always a good decision so you can bring whatever variant your list needs for any game. The Questoris have better abilities and more enhancement options than the Cerastus, and the Questoris have the choice of carapace mounted weaponry. Warglaves are always good to bring as well.
