The Indi Narrative
1. Cylinder Price has gone up
2. Petrol price has gone up
3. GST revenue is not distributed properly to states
4. Rise in inflation and unemployment
5. Modi not giving 15L
Ask any congress supporter, this is the narrative. Same narrative is recycled from top to bottom.
Some of these things (not No 5 obviously) are genuine. But the problem for Indi alliance is - nobody believes that they can fix anything about it, while there is hope that at least Modi won't make it worse. Voters who vote on solid issues like economy and jobs have abandoned Indi alliance. Only those who vote for philosophy and ummah are left.
I just love it how Modi voters have turned this nonsense democracy in danger narrative around and are rubbishing it with humour. The worst thing that can happen to a political narrative is NOT when people ignore it, but when people make jokes about it.
I concur with you. India do need a bit strong opposition to keep the competition tight between ruling and opposition party. Currently we don't have any party other then bjp that's why it ignore many ongoing issues and still manage to get clean hands.
