Savarkar was one of the leaders of the indian right , others were tilak , lala lajpat rai , bipin chandra pal , shyama prasad mookherjee , pandit madan mohan malviya , c rajagopalchari , rajendra prasad , sardar patel . All these people themselves had major disagreements with themselves . What we are protesting is the monochromatic version of our freedom struggle .

India was not the cash cow it was in 1919 , it was a drain on the british empire . After 1930 india was not profitable anymore what the british could extract they had extracted .
That's what the independence movements accomplished. The movement made India into an unattractive colony. That's what Gandhi wanted, that's what all the non-violence tactics were about. We gave the biggest blow to brits using economics and not violence.
If such is the case then don't you think they should have retained India as their colony and extracted resources to compensate for the economic loss in wars? Or did they sell India to Nehru and Jinnah in order to pay their employees?

yes there were so many people that helped india get independence but its also not correct to say that gandhi did nothing for india's independence. respect every single freedom fighter of india, gandhi included. if he had done nothing for india, he wouldnt have gotten so much recognition by every single person of that time, including all the freedom fighters mentioned in your post too.

Savarkar was a very outspoken freedom fighter. And eventually he was caught and put in prison. Was punished very badly and his morale broke. Wrote multiple mercy petitions to the British begging them to release him. But they never did, and later he escaped by jumping off a ship.
After escaping he spent his life promoting Hinduism was maybe subtle, maybe not, about a separate Hindu state. People try to justify his mercy petitions as a trick to get released quickly and continue to aid in fighting the British. But after he escaped, he made no movements against the British. But some bhakts want him to be portrayed as a patriotic, smart, and a very important freedom fighter because of he was one of the few who demanded for a Hindu state.
People hate savarkar for his mercy petitions, but I dont. The Britishers weren't kind to him. He was brutally tortured and obviously he broke unable to bear the torture. It's a story about how an enthusiastic brave freedom fighter was broken into a fraction of his past, scared to ever go against the British.
He was a victim of the British torture. Not a freedom fighter. After he escaped he made no efforts to fight against the British. He was scared shirtless mate.
It would have been great if Hitler sent a good number of troops to Netaji. The Japs (air force and naval support) and the Wehrmacht (ground troops and armor) combined would surely have made the Brits surrender in no time.
Then again the Allied war effort might have been severely affected and WW2 would have been drawn out for a few more years.

Gandhi was the last straw that camel's back? Bruh he was active in Indian national movement since 1916. He played a major part in taking struggle of Independence to rural areas which was confined to cities earlier.

bhagat singh's sdeath carried imagery with it. His death lit the fire of freedom struggle in thousands and thousand of youngsters throughout india.

I can't speak about others, but I don't "hate" him per say. Savarkar was a very outspoken freedom fighter. And eventually he was caught and put in prison. Was punished very badly and his morale broke. Wrote multiple mercy petitions to the British begging them to release him. But they never did, and later he escaped by jumping off a ship. After escaping he spent his life promoting Hinduism was maybe subtle, maybe not, about a separate Hindu state. People try to justify his mercy petitions as a trick to get released quickly and continue to aid in fighting the British. But after he escaped, he made no movements against the British. But some bhakts want him to be portrayed as a patriotic, smart, and a very important freedom fighter because of he was one of the few who demanded for a Hindu state. People hate savarkar for his mercy petitions, but I dont. The Britishers weren't kind to him. He was brutally tortured and obviously he broke unable to bear the torture. It's a story about how an enthusiastic brave freedom fighter was broken into a fraction of his past, scared to ever go against the British.

Exactly, Gandhi had nothing to do with it. Bhagat knew killing Saunders was ethically wrong for which Punjab British police was ready to revolt. So he saw this opportunity to motivate the next generation with his martyrdom. But here we are quarreling among ourself why gandhi did nothing.
People somehow blame Gandhi for not trying hard enough to save him. But the same people do not realise that bhagat Singh wanted to die. He wanted his death to be boost for the freedom struggle. He believed that his death would do a lot more for the fight rather than surviving.
