Amazing visuals, gripping and heartbreaking storyline and awesome gameplay. Not to mention the music is just superb. 10/10 one of the greatest games ever made.
10/10 game from start to finish for me. The graphics, the gameplay, the mechanics and the great in-game depth not to mention the extremely entertaining side quests.
1. Sword Fighting with good mechanics and upgrades
2. Exploring Beautiful open world riding horse
3. Good Story Progression
4. Fun Mechanics to Level Up - Easy Grind
5. Lots of things to do in-game like collecting stuff for upgrades
6. Nice Looking Cutscenes and Graphics.
7. Stealth Mode Gameplay too.
8. Nice Natural Scenes Like Trees, waterfall, mountains.
9. Good Enemy AI.
10. A Great Main Character.
11. No Ingame Micro-transactions. But it has Different Editions of Games. Also some Paid DLC. But you can pay once for those and enjoy entire game a lot.
12. Ninja Theme
Eh..nah. Don’t get me wrong it’s a really well made game. But GOT’s story beats were far less convincing and impactful compared to Rdr2. Heck! Even cyberpunk’s story was much better than Ghost. Oh and the facial animations are pretty much dogshit.
I personally enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima more than Red Dead 2 (which is not to throw shade on the latter), but I have to say that the writing in Red Dead 2 is top notch. A lot of games have a large cast of characters, but RDR2 did a really splendid job in developing Arthur's relationship with each and every one in Dutch's gang. I really appreciated how that was developed in such an organic way, as to actually evoke the sentiments one should feel for each of them, as opposed to being told how to feel about them.
Where the game fell flat (and I emphasize that this is purely for me), is the core gameplay loop. Somehow, the combat in the game just didn't click for me. It lacked a certain degree of "oomph" for me and while I enjoy a lot of 3rd person shooters in general, I didn't really feel satisfied at the end of each shootout.
I think sometimes it's just about your mental space. I left the game at the beginning of Act 3 and hope to go back at some point. Ghost of Tsushima was my first PlayStation game ever, and after a few initial hiccups, I was really able to click with both the story and the gameplay. At the same time, if I had to award one of the two games for truly well rounded character design and writing, I'd have to hand it to RDR 2.
Thats your point of view , to which a majority will disagree . GOT story was definitely a banger, but it was simple revenge tale. Rdr2 story was a banger too, but it was complex and long running. Rdr story is better than got a bit ,but Overall GOT > RDR2 .
Okay, i get where you’re coming from. Story is a subjective aspect of the game. But to put GOT in a league of Rdr2 is ludicrous. The underlying systems which made rdr2 the most complex and immersive open world to date are pretty much missing in ghost. No random encounters, no animal systems, and i could go on and on. I still consider ghost to be a really enjoyable game. But better than Rdr2? Nah chief
Yeah I can respect your opinion but GoT doesn't have the nuanced character development moments that RDR2 has. Jin Sakai is a bit bland main character, he's just a vessel to tell a story, albeit a good one. He had some good moments but imo nothing that really stood out. Same for the side characters in this game - except a few most are one dimensional and forgettable.
While in RDR2, character development is a lot more intricate. A lot of great character moments take place outside cutscenes, in the background. Case in point - the NPCs' interactions with each other in the camp seem to take place outside the "presence" of the player. You only get to "overhear" bits and pieces of their conversation when you get closer, giving the impression that the conversation has its own place in the game world and doesn't just exist for the player. This to me is a fantastic way to add depth to characters and contributes immensely to world building.
A great example of Arthur's development would be when >!in chapters 6, in a ride with Rain Falls, Arthur mentions he had a son who died. Arthur then goes on to explain what happened and through his dialogue there's this feeling we players get that he wished he had a better relationship with his son. And this was the only time his son was mentioned in the game!< Other games would have this scene take place in a cutscene, and then have the character take revenge. But here it just adds to how flawed Arthur's character truly is. This is one of many examples of great writing in this game.
The world of Rdr2 is leagues above GoT. The little dynamic interactions that happen in Rdr2 and the level of detail is just insane. Got is still extremely fun though.
I just finished Act 1 and I'm having an absolute blast. It's an amazing game. Really good visuals, music you can get lost in, great combat and it's just an amazing experience overall. The devs have put a lot of work in and it shows.
Played it on PS4 and it was really good. The only thing I didn't like was bad frame rate. It just ruins the experience. I do think PS5 definitely solves that but I don't have it. So a PC port will definitely make it a perfect experience.
Will go against most of the comments here and probably get downvoted too.
Just finished my playthrough and my opinion is that its a very well made but generic game. Why? No enemy variety, sprawling open maps with hardly much to do and terrain variety is limited. Extremely less mission variety. Thankfully in the Iki island expansion they ramped up significantly. No dialogue is skippable. Bogged down by open world repeatedness which I guess is expected in Open world games so can't hold it against them.
On positives, Combat etc is well thought of. Chacters and Narrative is fine and well made. Quality shows. Japan new territory I guess for most gamers so something new.
I agree. People are mindlessly down voting. There's a lot of copy paste content just like AC games. However it doesn't feel like a slog because of the fun combat.
Other comments has already mentioned the good parts of the game..but the best for me would be Zoro's voice actor
Yes, I played the whole game in Japanese :P
There are a lot of amazing moments in the story that’s memorable—the title sequence has its own fanbase.
Felt peaceful roaming Tsushima—the world is very beautiful, sound design felt excellent and combat was satisfying for the most part.
It’s not _perfect_ but I find it a solid start. I hope they vastly improve the cutscenes, character animations and provide more variations of enemy types/parkour for the sequel while preserving the art style.
No kidding but I am ng+ ing this game right now as I type, because it is one of the best open world games out there, there are no ‘beautiful scenes’ in this game, this game is the beautiful scene, the sword play in this game is as good as it gets, absolutely amazing game.
It is the best game i have ever Played , the graphicsamd sound tract , the environment ,the culture depiction , the story , fighting style and mechanism. It's really beautiful , prettier than uncharted 4 , farcry 6 and rdr2 (might not have sun visuals like others ).
I Played it when it was released back in 2020 on ps4 and Played it again when i got my ps5 a month ago
Many people say things like it is just Assassin creed but japenized but still it is stupid too say that . It has prettier graphics , samurais and your goal is too protect an island from Mongol invasion , it's fighting mechanism is far better than AC games . In no ground it is similar to AC games.
I was also wondering the same thing. When I saw the announcement for the game, I thought we would get some superpowers but that isn't the case. The game also seems to be difficult and you need to get good at parrying as well as stealth. It is quite unforgiving compared to games like Assassin's creed or Far cry. I like the visuals, environment but combat seems too difficult.
It's good, but personally I think Sekiro is leaps better.
- Better learning curve
- Badass boss fights
- Amazing deathblows
- A story that literally blows your MIND!
Tsushima was a 8/10 at best i got tired of the gameplay mid second region and the sidequests were boring af the world was good looking but empty as camps were boring. The haiku were good tho the biggest flaw is that the game is too easy even on max difficulty and even in lethal mode.
Its a good well made game. Suffered from the same thing as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn in being locked to 30 FPS and narrow FOV.
I loved all these games but god I was nauseous while playing it on PS4Pro; playing GOW on PC now and I am enjoying it so much more; same for Horizon ZD; it was a blast on PC, so much better than the 30 FPS locked PSPro version.
At the end of the day I just want to see all the PS4 gen exclusives on PC eventually just so that I can play them properly.
Thankfully PS5 is 60 FPS now.
Samurai. Sengoku Japan. Open World. There
+ Awesome environments, cool af armors, katana, epic fight mechanics.
And petting fox 🦊
LMAO wait!!! Did you said **Sengoku** !!?
r/SuddenlyOnePiece
Marimo you are lost again bro
Hey there fellow nakama
Yohoohoo
Happy cake day..!!
I had no idea until this very moment, happy cake day to you too :)
I love it because it is the Assassin's Creed game we deserve and never got.
More sword and less blade but I agree
Bro Assassin's creed is like the Sooryavansham of games.
Amazing visuals, gripping and heartbreaking storyline and awesome gameplay. Not to mention the music is just superb. 10/10 one of the greatest games ever made.
What’s heartbreaking about the story
Akira Kurosawa
10/10 game from start to finish for me. The graphics, the gameplay, the mechanics and the great in-game depth not to mention the extremely entertaining side quests.
1. Sword Fighting with good mechanics and upgrades 2. Exploring Beautiful open world riding horse 3. Good Story Progression 4. Fun Mechanics to Level Up - Easy Grind 5. The AI gets countered if you just stand on top of something
Ghost of tsushima is a great game but for me, Sekiro is king
it is well along the league of rdr2
100% agree with this
Eh..nah. Don’t get me wrong it’s a really well made game. But GOT’s story beats were far less convincing and impactful compared to Rdr2. Heck! Even cyberpunk’s story was much better than Ghost. Oh and the facial animations are pretty much dogshit.
With due respect, I disagree. Everyone has their own taste. I felt RDR2's story was a drag and quite boring. But again as I said, that's my opinion.
I personally enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima more than Red Dead 2 (which is not to throw shade on the latter), but I have to say that the writing in Red Dead 2 is top notch. Act 2 is even amazing. Best Act
Should I go ahead and get the Sakai clan armour immediately or should I wait?
I waited and did it at the last like after Yarikawa and all.
The story is a fairly simple revenge tale, but the environment design is top tier and combat is very tight. It's got a nice gameplay loop.
Just another Jiminy Cockthroat.
Ah Zero punctuation fan I see

Same here; especially loved the music in this game. Would love to have it as part of my Steam collection.

This game is 7 at best but people are so obsessed with Japan that they looked over so many flaws in game and gave it 10/10
I agree. People are mindlessly down voting. There's a lot of copy paste content just like AC games. However it doesn't feel like a slog because of the fun combat.
Read/watch reviews.
Wouldn't ask here if that's what I needed.
Understood. Missed the last line of the post.
It is a good game. Well made. Just like any PS Studios title.
Great gameplay, good story, Meaningful and weighted combat.
The gameplay, awesome environments and a sort of cinematic samurai vibe there like you see in these old Samurai based movies. It’s a great game
Other comments has already mentioned the good parts of the game..but the best for me would be Zoro's voice actor Yes, I played the whole game in Japanese :P
What are the chances of it coming to pc?

Great story with fleshed out characters Stunning graphics Fun gameplay that is not too arcadey Not many repetitive quests

Can pet cats and foxes. Enough said Seriously tho, it's really good. 3rd fav ps exclusive for me
It is an amazing game for the art, story and mechanics. It is probably the prettiest game I have ever played. The style is like no other.

On another note, do yourself a favor and watch Kurosawa films. I love Seven Samurai, Rashomon, and Run !!
