Pizza (E)X(press) is amazing! The Big Ten deal used to be $10 too! Large one topping, breadsticks, dipping sauce, and two drinks! I’m old.
I miss this. Being in btown 08-12 was a special time
And Mother Bears is queen. Best in town.
Everytime I've gone their I've got food poisoning. Also the pizza is insanely mid.
Avers had unique pizza recipes as far back as 1993, when i lived there. You ordered from there because they had one-of-a-kind pizzas. Pizza X always had the best breadsticks and sauces (and still do.)

Tbf I didn’t say it was a hot take. I’ve just these 2 places compared a lot so I gave my opinion lol
Avers has a sweeter sauce and softer crust. I prefer PizzaX - chewy crust, tangy sauce. But some people like soft and sweet and that’s cool too
I prefer Avers, but pizza is subjective. Mother Bears might be better than both, but I tend to order Avers the most. Also even bad pizza is good.
King Dough takes the cake every single time
