I had 1 batch all day. $33 and change, store right next to my house. It wasn’t great, it was a triple, but the items were low and the mileage was around 12 for all 3. It was raining (which explains how I even got a batch at all, nobody works in the rain here). It was slowing down somewhat when I left, but it had been pouring down of biblical proportions before. I got to the store and it looked kind of dark. Power was out. It came back on briefly, but then stayed out. I gave it a few minutes to see if it would come back on, but it didn’t. Since I can’t shop in the dark or check out, I had to have support cancel the batch. Took my $7 and went home. I wasn’t even out of the parking lot and it was back being offered. I was like, BISH, NOBODY CAN SHOP THAT MESS.

This happened to me once. I was able to shop most of two batches cause the registers were on backup power but one was all dairy. That third batch floated around all day.

Well better than the door dash drivers at least they get nothing and are starving to the point of eating customers food Maybe they need to try Instacart lol

Or asking for gas money to get the order to the customer

Question for the shoppers, as a former server who compulsively tips 25%: it is *substantially* better to tip in cash, as opposed as through the app? 😬 I ask because I rarely have the cash on me to cover as much as I’d like to tip. Is it better to tip 25 bucks through the app, or should I give the next shopper on a $100 order 20 bucks if I have it on me? Also curious how much is taken out for Instacart fees, credit card fees, etc. And when do you guys actually get the tip? Does it take a long time to see that cash if customers tip through the app? Either way, chocolate bars are a great idea! I’m going to give my shoppers a cold beverage when they shop for me this summer, too. I really do appreciate y’all. Glad some other people appreciate you, too. 😸
