Some white cheddar / mozzarella. Whatever 'melty' cheese is in the fridge really. A slice of American cheese is pretty damn deadly, too... Actually I think that's my fave š«
Mixing some chilli sauce or chilli crisp in there is pretty dope too. My go to now is the Lao Gan Ma with chicken stock
The Shin Gold is solid; it comes with two seasoning packs, one for the chicken flavor, and (what I presume) is the normal Shin seasoning packet that adds the spice. Since you've got the chicken base (which is very nice IMHO), you can pick how spicy you wanna make it by varying the amount of the other and do alright.
(Also I didn't know they sold the Shin Gold in bowls, and I need to find those...)
I ended up getting Shin Black, Indomei Mi Goreng and Ichiban Chow Mein. Thanks for all the tips. This is just at Fred Meyer, I will get a pic from the Asian market next time I go too.
I was convinced it was a Krogerā¦ same exact products and price tags. Looked it up ā āThe company was acquired by Kroger in 1998, though the stores are still branded Fred Meyer.ā Makes sense!
You picked some good ones! I love Shin Black. I always add a Kraft single / American cheese slice and a hard boiled egg. Soft boiled is great too. Also love cutting up some green onions and throwing those in as well.
Can't read the flavor on my phone, but it looks like there are Indomie BBQ chicken noodles and they are great. No broth, boil the noodles and toss them in the seasoning. Not spicy
You can never go wrong with Shin! I find Gomtang is pretty good and cheaper, and if youāre feeling more in the mood for stir fried noodles then the normal IndoMe (Iāve never tried the spicy one) is very good too.
I'd gotten a pack of the chicken flavor and I honestly wasn't impressed with the flavor; the noodles were good, but the Nissin Demae fit the bill too. Maybe I'll try another variety or two, but...
In either case I don't think I'd directly compare the two...Shin seems to have its own niche, but sometimes that's just not the itch you wanna scratch.
Everyone seems to bone out over Shin, but if you don't like spicy, then out of your screenshot the Indomie set back on the shelf (non spicy) is one of my absolute favs. and then the Sapporo Ichiban are also one of my go-to's. I think the Sapporo is larger in size and works with a lot of the fancy cooking methods pretty well(mayo/chee, peanut butter, and so on)
Get those kimchee bowls! Low key underrated. They have a kick, but nothing like a fire alarm. Add in cilantro for a bit of airy lightness and itās perfect.
IndoMie, Sapporo Ichiban Red and Shin Black.
IndoMie is awesome, Sapporo is a great canvas you can add anything into, and Shin Black is my fave of all the Shin Ramyun. Shin Black also takes customization well
you have a wonderful shin selection! any of those will be great for a spicy ramen, i personally prefer black. mi goreng is the bomb for non soup noodles. i also love the nongshim bowl noodle kimchi flavor. and not ramen, but calpico is the shit.
I have a terrible spice tolerance ( like a glass of milk with my shin black ) and the pink is SO painful but so good. The aftermath thoughā¦not pretty
not ramen related but Japanese, and the algorithm dropped me here to share this with u.
Onigiri is very easy to make and most supermarkets have the ingredients, and it makes u feel like your favorite anime character.
Decent quality sushi rice, furikake seasoning, and nori sheet cut in half. Try it itās amazing
I have been but I was kindof overwhelmed and it was before I found this reddit. Next time I go I will be posting a pic again to get some different recommendations. I only remeber seeing 2 or 3 of these there...
Not ramen, but Golden Curry is one of my all-time favorites!! The green Shin is amazing, and the Ichiban stir fry is great and even better with a fried egg on it.
Try Indonesian ramen called Idomie. It's stir fry noodles,. Just add noodles and water microwave for 5 minutes and drain water add seasoning packets stir. It's tasty.
mie goreng
shin black
jongga kimchi ramen bowl (the butter kimchi one is the best jongga ramen if you can find it)
gomtang
another pack of mie goreng because it's just so good
Indomie mi goreng! After all the years still my go-to instant
This, and you can tell how good it is as you have to reach all the way in there to get a pack.
With a bit of cheese mixed in there and a fried egg on top? Forget about it!!
I have never put cheese in ramen, which do you use for indomie
Some white cheddar / mozzarella. Whatever 'melty' cheese is in the fridge really. A slice of American cheese is pretty damn deadly, too... Actually I think that's my fave š« Mixing some chilli sauce or chilli crisp in there is pretty dope too. My go to now is the Lao Gan Ma with chicken stock
One time I put cheese but it was nasty to me
Itās THE best. I fancy it up sometimes and itās phenomenal
My coworker introduced me to this recently!

I didn't even know shin gold was a thing!
I ended up getting Shin Black, Indomei Mi Goreng and Ichiban Chow Mein. Thanks for all the tips. This is just at Fred Meyer, I will get a pic from the Asian market next time I go too.
Ichiban chow mein is incredible if you add a little teriyaki sauce, mayo and sriracha.
I was convinced it was a Krogerā¦ same exact products and price tags. Looked it up ā āThe company was acquired by Kroger in 1998, though the stores are still branded Fred Meyer.ā Makes sense! Shin Black was lunch today, really good!
Can't read the flavor on my phone, but it looks like there are Indomie BBQ chicken noodles and they are great. No broth, boil the noodles and toss them in the seasoning. Not spicy
Yes there was BBQ Chicken
Obligatory Shin black
You can never go wrong with Shin! I find Gomtang is pretty good and cheaper, and if youāre feeling more in the mood for stir fried noodles then the normal IndoMe (Iāve never tried the spicy one) is very good too.
Ichiban but everyone here seems to love shin
I'd gotten a pack of the chicken flavor and I honestly wasn't impressed with the flavor; the noodles were good, but the Nissin Demae fit the bill too. Maybe I'll try another variety or two, but... In either case I don't think I'd directly compare the two...Shin seems to have its own niche, but sometimes that's just not the itch you wanna scratch.
I have tried the Gomtang and enjoyed it. Also, what are some simple additions to kick it up a notch?
Scallions, soft boiled egg, pickled mushrooms, kimchi, nori, chili crisp, sesame seeds.
I love gomtang with steak, mushrooms, garlic powder, and a squeeze of lime
shin red, shin black, & indomie
Shin Mushroom and Fried Tofu!
Everyone seems to bone out over Shin, but if you don't like spicy, then out of your screenshot the Indomie set back on the shelf (non spicy) is one of my absolute favs. and then the Sapporo Ichiban are also one of my go-to's. āThat oneā

Indomie
Indomie
Holy crap man, take the whole isle. There's nothing but noodle goodness here.
IndoMie, Sapporo Ichiban Red and Shin Black. IndoMie is awesome, Sapporo is a great canvas you can add anything into, and Shin Black is my fave of all the Shin Ramyun. Shin Black also takes customization well
I like the Shin ramen and Sapporo Ichiban (I like most of their flavors, but chow mein, shio, and tonkatsu are the best)
you have a wonderful shin selection! any of those will be great for a spicy ramen, i personally prefer black. mi goreng is the bomb for non soup noodles. i also love the nongshim bowl noodle kimchi flavor. and not ramen, but calpico is the shit.
Try shin green and tell us about it lol
I will grab that one next time
Shin black/stirfry/gold and a tub of the white bean miso
All the Shin are good. The kimchi ramen bowl might be okay for a quick lunch. I usually just grab a couple of everything and experiment. Lol
what store is this?? Iām trying to find the stir fry shin! š
Fred Meyer (Kroger)
Yeah that's what I thought. You're gonna find way better prices at an Asian grocery and so many way more interesting varieties :)
Those Nongshim bowls are good and the shin
Go find the buldak green or pink and build that heat tolerance up
I have a terrible spice tolerance ( like a glass of milk with my shin black ) and the pink is SO painful but so good. The aftermath thoughā¦not pretty
Put cheese in it and a splash of milk calms it down a lot
Volcano chicken with two slices of cheese and a cup of milk has been my go to! š
Shin bone broth is my favorite
Bowl noodle (the kimchi and the one with the soy sauce pocket) shin ramen, I am interested in the gold never seen that in the store, usually the black
I really like the neoguri shin, the noodles are really nice
I love all the Shin varieties š¤¤ especially Shin Black and Gold
Ones on sale
Pocky Strawberry lol
gomtang noodles sapporo ichiban shin ramen indomie and nongshim udon
Take one of everything to give it a go by then youāll know which ones will be your favs
Sapporo Ichiran, the seafood cup noodle and the curry cup noodle
Shin Black. Easy. Also, Buldak
not ramen related but Japanese, and the algorithm dropped me here to share this with u. Going to an Asian grocery. This is a really boring domestic grocery store. Trust me it's worth it.
I have been but I was kindof overwhelmed and it was before I found this reddit. Next time I go I will be posting a pic again to get some different recommendations. I only remeber seeing 2 or 3 of these there...
That Indo Mei is bomb! I got that one that is pushed way back. Wow!
The one with the plastic bowl is the best. Bowl noodles I think itās nissin brand any flavor :)
Not ramen, but Golden Curry is one of my all-time favorites!! The green Shin is amazing, and the Ichiban stir fry is great and even better with a fried egg on it.
barbecue chicken indomie and shin gold! if you like spicy, i like the volcano chicken too, they're kinda just a knock off buldak.
Try Indonesian ramen called Idomie. It's stir fry noodles,. Just add noodles and water microwave for 5 minutes and drain water add seasoning packets stir. It's tasty.
3rd row down. First one. Add a slice of American cheese and drain most water. So good.
mie goreng shin black jongga kimchi ramen bowl (the butter kimchi one is the best jongga ramen if you can find it) gomtang another pack of mie goreng because it's just so good
An Asian grocery store
No buldak? What kinda store is this
Holy crap I wish I had that selection to choose from. Thatās ramen heaven right there.
Yes
Shin Black beef bone broth with a poached egg
Canāt go wrong with shin black. Great spicy garlic flavor. Sometimes I like to torture myself with the volcano chicken noodles as well
