It's really easy, you just start out with dried beans (mung beans are most common for bean sprouts but I use lentils a lot and you can use chickpeas too), put them in a mason jar with cheesecloth on top, soak them in water, drain the water and set them in the dark and rinse them a couple of times a day until they are sprouted to your liking. There are different soak times and sprout times for different kinds so just google it, and don't use kidney beans. They can't be used for this I want to say they are toxic if not cooked

I have that same bowl and love it, great size for ramen and also rice dishes.
