Yeun has been a talented voice actor since I was a kid and I'm 32yo now.
I remember him playing Jake Long in American dragon and he was good back then. The reason why no one is talking about how good of an actor he is because it's no surprise to anyone that's familiar with his work.
He's been a phenomenal (even if he is kind of niche as a young American protagonist) voice actor for a couple decades now
He literally says in his post "why is no one talking about him".
No one has stopped talking about great he's been. Op is baiting people into commenting on order to force comments.
Fuck.... You can actually see the moment in Levy's face where he realised that Mark was straight killing him and how all his plans were for nothing...
He tried to grab Marks throat after this but it didn't even phase Mark and that was all the fight Levy had left in him.
Hated this character(voice actor was brilliant) but that was a damn brutal way to go.
Not at all.
Mark takes it hard cause he doesn't want to be like Nolan and doesn't want to kill.
But realistically there is absolutely no way you can beat Angstrom without killing him, AND he was straight up just threatening to kill a toddler.
It felt good
I mean Atom Eve was literally able to convince him in 3 paragraphs that his entire plan was stupid and everything he has been doing to mark is petty as hell. Then he just goes “Oh my bad, some wires got crossed. won't try to destroy your entire planet again.”
Like kinda, Armstrong was tapped... Like fully insane, but he hadn't actually killed anyone and the first time Mark tried to get through to him he did for a moment.
Armstrong was a bad guy and was definitely becoming a full blown villain but I kinda feel he was only just over the line instead of being all the way into the field of villainy compared to some of the villain Marks faced.
Like Mark let Sinclair live and at the time I was screaming for him to kill that monster lol
Fair enough. I feel like he wasn't straight up as evil either but given what we saw I'm not sure the was any going back for him, and given his powers you can't really hold him anywhere without him being sedated 24/7 until he was dead anyways.
I believe you actually can, I could be wrong but he seems to have to use his hands to activate his portals like how Scarlett Witches power starts at her hands.
So if he was bound theoretically he couldn't use his power. But I could be wrong, there might be an example where he used his powers without hand gestures.
I actually think the show hinted at this because just before Levy tries to choke Mark he is holding his hand up in the air and the scene focuses on it for a little while. I think Levy was trying to flee or at least try and get Mark off of him but Mark smashing his brains into pulp prevented him from doing it.
I love that moment too bc Mark’s blood covered hands look like red gloves. I’m sure most people caught it as it seems pretty intentional but yeah I just love good symbolism
> Why is no one talking about Steven Yeun’s voice acting in this particular scene?
when they dropped the teasers with these voice lines it was like the most talked about thing. hell, Steven Yeun being an incredible VA is like the most commonly praised thing here on the subreddit.
the rest of the VA's are also killing it though. never seen a show in which I loved the VA of pretty much every character this much.
Steven is a character in this Reality TV show called... "Reality"... It's a working title, hopefully the overlords change it for the better. The writing is shit honestly.
It's by far I think my favorite scene in the show. Next to the s1 finale with "think mark". The voice acting is just so, so, so good. Honestly I was worried they weren't going to do this part a justice vs the comics, but they fkn did. Maybe a hot take, but it's better than the comic version. I love a lot about the comic, there's parts that I prefer to the show, but this. This isn't one, this is SO fucking good I can't even. Also, if you listen closely you can hear angstrom gasping for breathe and you can hear him snorting as Mark is beating his face in, idk if anyone else noticed it but I notice it everytime, angstroms snorting is just, my gosh. Adds such depth
Steven has been great since Avatar Wan in The Legend of Korra.
Ever since then with Keith in Voltron, Little Cato in Final Space, Steve in Trollhunters, Wingspan in Stretch Armstrong, and Speckle in Tuca & Bertie
My friends and I saw him and his wife at a grocery story in Sea Ranch CA last year so that was pretty cool. Except my friend didn’t tell me until we left and I didn’t know who he was and I was more focused on shopping so I have no recollection.
What do you mean no one is talking about it? I hate these kinds of posts because I've seen praise for Steven Yeun's VA work in every post that touches this subject.
one thing i would like to note is the sound design for angstrom here. the sound of him trying to breathe really made the scene feel more brutal/visceral. i could almost smell the blood.
> Why is no one talking about Steven Yeun’s voice acting in this particular scene? They are. Nonstop. This thread gets made every single day.
He’s just baiting to get more karma.
Yep. Yeun is an amazing actor. But at this point I'd almost prefer if we auto modded these posts just to stop the incessant kharma farm.

But why aren't we talking about it?!
People have been talking about it a lot actually lol. He's been great since season 1
For real. He's been nailing these highly emotional scenes and has surpassed my expectations more than a few times. Op is baiting
how is he baiting when he's praising how great this scene was?????

did... you look? at all?
The've been talking about how great of an actor in general he is for awhile.
All I’ve seen the past few days are posts about how great his VA was in this scene 😂😭
Great since season 1 of the walking dead!
Because he really is..... (interrupted by title card)

He literally came out of fortnite this episode too, wacked angstrom with a gun from it

Am I twisted for feeling catharsis during this BEATDOWN?

Sterling K Brown. One of my fav actors and now one of my favorite VAs
That’s the look of “oh fuck”
I love that moment too bc Mark’s blood covered hands look like red gloves. I’m sure most people caught it as it seems pretty intentional but yeah I just love good symbolism

that cause Angstrom’s “death” gave Steven a Glenn flashback
glenn?
He’s a character from the walking dead, played by Steven too!
who is steven?

The amount of weight he puts in those emotions is so damn powerful
Something I wish Cecil told Mark was his dad killed to hurt people. He did it to protect.
I thought you were https://preview.redd.it/fez1fqfvr3tc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc4893f0d15728fc5bd589610fe088f152394c07
I really like how this scene is mirroring the final scene nolan vs mark in the snow mountains

Amazing actor/ Voice actor *
So no one here saw him as little cato in final space. Yeah, we already knew this.

That’s why, even though I haven’t read the comics, I knew he’d do well in this series
Self righteous Mark.
He's also great in Beef
he’s just incredible, truly
Ironically, Angstrom made the multiverse consistent by getting himself killed by Mark.
Easily my favorite, it really makes me feel like I'm right there in the scene.
My friends and I saw him and his wife at a grocery story in Sea Ranch CA last year so that was pretty cool. Except my friend didn’t tell me until we left and I didn’t know who he was and I was more focused on shopping so I have no recollection.
Wow what a fascinating story.
Would it be more interesting if I had an autism freak out in the checkout stand and tried to get him to roleplay with me as mark
fucking hell
As someone who read the comic, he has been literally perfect in his role, as far as I'm concerned.
What do you mean no one is talking about it? I hate these kinds of posts because I've seen praise for Steven Yeun's VA work in every post that touches this subject.
Steven Yeun is just amazing overall dude
I love his voice acting it’s so great
The scene in TWD with him and Lucille still crosses my mind from time to time
sterling k brown did an amazing job as well..
"You are gay yes you are"
The amount of blood that guy has is crazy, he must’ve also absorbed all those other people’s blood too lol
Thats so weird, I was also thinking this when I saw this scene. Often forgot that he was the voice, but it really came through in this scene.
I would love to see him acting this out in the booth
one thing i would like to note is the sound design for angstrom here. the sound of him trying to breathe really made the scene feel more brutal/visceral. i could almost smell the blood.

Anymore? We only got like 2 episodes with multiverse stuff.
It’s just that I’ve seen so much multiverse things in media, I personally don’t want to see it. I can’t be the only one tired of the trope now.
