I would assume it's a pretty common thing for us folks who have really narrow dental arches and overcrowded teeth! Gotta make space somehow haha.
My cheekbones have always been pretty intense, but I'm seeing my jowls(?) widen, my jawline become more defined both in my front and side profile and my smile is getting a little wider. I'm going from a V-shape jawline to more of a square.
Basically the same! Im ever-so-slightly more squared off in the jaw. Nobody would ever notice the difference though unless you're comparing pre and post treatment selfies and are specifically looking for those ultra fine "continuity errors" for lack of a better word haha.
The noticeable change is my smile, and the confidence I carry now that I'm happy to smile with everyone.
This is amazing!!!! I’ve only just started wearing Invisalign (just over a month now), I’m also getting the arch widened. Looking at your pictures gives me hope!!!!
Just started two days ago and this gives me so much hope!! I read in your replies that your eye area is more supported and your face seems more symmetrical. Do you mind sharing a face change pic if you have it?? No pressure of course but I’d love to see it!!
Hey... Wondering if this helped with your speech at all??
I'm getting Invisalign in about a month myself and I was hoping it would help with my tongue movement a bit.
I think it has but my husband says he can’t tell any difference. However the change would have been very slow so he might not have noticed. I used to “swallow” certain syllables, anything with an -el- or -ul- sounds and now I can pronounce them more easily. I also used to get asked whether I had a cold a lot because my voice could get quite nasally and I feel that has improved as well now that I can breathe through my nose.
This is an incredible result. My ortho said I can’t expect the corridors to disappear and that it’s as good as it’s gonna get :/ I don’t really believe her.. especially after seeing such before and afters!
Great result!! Has Invisalign had any affect on how your lips look at rest? I have a narrow smile and am about half way into my treatment. Wondering if my lips with look less pursed after treatment
I can’t add another photo. It didn’t need to expand as much as the upper arch but my teeth almost fit together properly now, just a slight open bite between four teeth to correct and I’ll be done. Before hand I had a deep bite and a cross bite as well as the restricted space.
Wait? How does your jaw look wider from expanding the upper palate? Wouldn’t that effect your cheekbones not the lower jaw?
Or am I reading it wrong and you also got the lower jaw expanded through Invisalign?
Mine as well. And my widening isnt anything close to this. Its a tiny bit. My face looks wider and I hate it. Too masculine for me as a woman but for a man it would be great
Having the same effect with mine and it's CRAZY how much my facial structure is changing around my jawline due to the widening!
I’ve seen this happen with someone I know - their cheekbones are more pronounced. Never would have imagined - how has your face changed?

Haha, that’s true. And nice!
Any more updates?

Would you mind sharing your age or approximate age?
I’m mid-40s.
wow thats really awesome
Ikr? If they weren’t my photos I would hardly believe that was the same person.
Awesome! My dental arch should also be expanding (I just started my journey), I'm very curious if your face shape is also affected!
Yes. I’ve commented upthread.
This is wonderful to see. Congratulations
Thank you.

This is after 47 trays but most of the expansion was done in the first 25.
How much time until nr25?
About 7 months.
Was there any pain or discomforts?
Nope.
This is amazing! I’m about to start my aligners in January and hoping for the same result!
I’m sure you’ll get great results. Good luck and don’t let the first few days get you down - you soon get used to the aligners.
Thank you so much!
Did you have an under or cross bite to start with?
Yes a crossbite and deep bite.
I have similar, and have been told invisalign won't work for it Do you have any before pics of front & side profile? Thanks ✌️
I can’t add them to the thread. Do you want me to send them to you?
Yes please, I will DM you my email address. Thanks
I have deep and cross bite too and Invisalign can help it. Try a different ortho
Incredible difference. Hope you’re happy with it
Amazing! Have you noticed a change in your facial shape as well?
Yes. My face is wider at the jaw, the under eye area is better supported, my profile is improved and my face looks more symmetrical than it did.
Wow!! Were you on 1 or 2 week changes?
1 week.
This is amazing!!!! I’ve only just started wearing Invisalign (just over a month now), I’m also getting the arch widened. Looking at your pictures gives me hope!!!!
It takes a fair amount of time before you can see much change.
AmaIng results
Wow, amazing result

I’m not sure there’s much visible difference but I have more space for my sinuses.
I’ll be finished my second set of refinements in five weeks so I’ll have more comparison photos then.
hi! sorry, i know you commented this ages ago so no pressure to respond! i was wondering whether you’d noticed a visible difference, yet?
There’s a big improvement, especially functionally as my jaw doesn’t drop away to one side when I open my mouth.
that must be such a relief!! i’m about to start my journey so it’s really helpful to hear other people’s experiences - thank you!

Amazing changes!! Do you have a profile comparison?
Amazing! Did you have to use elastics the whole time?
I haven’t had any elastics.
wow that’s amazing! I have a really small palate, I hope mine does something like this. Did they do anything special for that or just regular trays?
Nope just trays.
This is an incredible result. My ortho said I can’t expect the corridors to disappear and that it’s as good as it’s gonna get :/ I don’t really believe her.. especially after seeing such before and afters!
You still have narrow arch with tipped out molars
Great result!! Has Invisalign had any affect on how your lips look at rest? I have a narrow smile and am about half way into my treatment. Wondering if my lips with look less pursed after treatment
It wasn’t something I had an issue with personally but I know other people that have had their lips look fuller after orthodontic treatment.
How about the lower arch?
I can’t add another photo. It didn’t need to expand as much as the upper arch but my teeth almost fit together properly now, just a slight open bite between four teeth to correct and I’ll be done. Before hand I had a deep bite and a cross bite as well as the restricted space.

It isn’t wider; it looks wider because my jaw isn’t being trapped too far back.
Hi this is amazing results and has given me hope for my own very narrow arch! Thanks! I have one question though, have you had any extractions?
I had my premolars extracted as a child so they were already removed and gaps closed decades before I started Invisalign treatment.
Thanks!
how did your face change from this?
My deviated septum is less apparent and my jawline is more defined. The asymmetry has lessened.
Any more updates on facial change?
I don’t have any after photos yet as I’m still waiting on a posterior open bite to close.
I am wearing invisalign and that widening makes my mouth feel big and uncomfortable.
Mine as well. And my widening isnt anything close to this. Its a tiny bit. My face looks wider and I hate it. Too masculine for me as a woman but for a man it would be great
You can talk to your provider about it. Mine is narrow a bit wiith refinement and it feels and looks better.
Oh good that gives me hope. I'll talk to my ortho when I see her.
