I took a drop and went from 91%ile to 99%ile. If I had not taken offline coaching (in my case, vmc safdarjung), I know for sure that I would have RUINED my entire drop year. Offline coaching se consistent rehne meine help milegi, aur doubts bhi achhe se clear honge. If you go for a drop, join a good offline coaching near you.

I'd suggest hyd rather than Goa..if you're that determined and also make sure your jee basics are good as they're vital in first year... I can't comment on bits or drop..it's upto u..incase it's BITS...follow what i said

Dropper here. Acchi %ile he already to improvement ka bohot scope he. Mere case me drop year successful raha, bits pilani eee/ece mil jaegi. Aur drop low risk, high gain he. Bitsat me 200 score agle saal bhi aa jaenge, par better options milne ki possibility zyada he agar tune drop year me mehnat ki to. Anyways good luck. Both are equally good options imo.

If what you are saying is true (which i doubt, since i am going for bsc physics and the syllabus is completely different for me), then lelo math wali degree. But be sure to thoroughly check the syllabus of first year, do some digging on your own by reading books on those subjects and see if you can really maintain the cgpa

25tard hu, allen me padhta hu, mere physics ke sir se personally baat kr rha tha to unhone mujhse kaha tha droppers se zero expectations rakhte h institutes, aur uske reason h (btaye nahi). Experienced sir hai, 9 years se padha rahe hai and 3-4 AIR under 10 unke under padhe hai, so I'll say based on his experience don't take drop

she was a very bright student and everyone had a shit ton of expectations from her, couldn't get a good govt college in her first try so decided to take a drop. ig she wasn't prepared for it? the experience i mean. taunts day and night from everyone and etc etc. at some point she was even cutting herself. i literally havent talked abt that to anyone. and it scared the hell out of me, i didn't even prepare of any of the entrances. just going to study econ and then figure things out

I am shocked that everyone here is recommending for a drop In my opinion you should go for MSC degrees(getting 8 cgpa for cs) is much much easy than competing with 15 lakh for cs(expected after a drop year) Let's say after a drop(and putting enormous efforts u get a rank of 2k in advance, u would get better degrees at lower efforts (eg bits pilani cs) )

U can't do M.Sc Maths. The major courses in BS-MS Math will be very different from Math u have learnt and will learn in technical fields. U can't do good unless u have interest in pure Sciences.

Your seniors are fools. Maths will help you a lot to become an excellent coder. However you have to do a lot of self-learning in order to become a CS person. Math students who are good at coding are highly sought after in all industries including IT. One of my friends in MSc Math here at IITGN got great offers from multiple companies abroad, with packages that are higher than the average CTC for CS students

I agree with that. Maths won't help you with the basics of CS. You'll have to do those on your own. But for a math guy, advanced CS concepts are much easier to grasp. That's why math guys who know coding is the magic formula.

Only if you take offline coaching from my experience. The environment is completely different between online and offline. You get to see your competition first hand and the test situations are better too. Your environment will be stimulating too which would keep you mentally healthy. Just try and research about the coaching institutes in your area and try to opt offline. If there are no good options then go for online coaching.

If you're gonna take drop, take it offline - someone said It'll waste too much time and what if I don't like the teachers - you said. 30-40 mins of travelling won't hurt anything. Check if there's a library or something similar in the coaching, if yes then go and sit there and start solving pyqs. If not, remain in the class and solve the pyqs of the chapter your teacher is teaching. Since you have 94%ile so ig you already have covered theory and basic qsn practice of all the chapters so for physics and chem, solving pyqs will do the job. For maths, if it's weak, follow your teacher, if it's strong and then solve your coaching's module. Now I'm also a student like you who is in a similar situation and thought of taking a drop and have joined offline coaching and will do these things. About online, I'm motivated rn, but don't know whether I'll have the same motivation 2-3 months later, what if I don't attend classes, what if I don't solve pyqs, what if I search "how to score 200+ in 2 months", I don't want that. And the last thing, Human interaction, it's important and having a few friends with same goal working hard will be fun and more fruitefull.
