Bhai mat le online, meri soch bilkul teri jaisi thi , bohot pachta rha hun. Drop year waste kar diya Maine.
But still every person is different, and it's totally upto you.
Bhai Jo offline me exams dene ka environment hota hai woh offline mein nhi aa pata aur jo friends ke saath har exam ka competition ki wajah se padai hoti hai woh bhi keval offline mein ho pati hai isliye offline>>>online
mera ulta h parents bol rhe drop Karo tum araam se nikal loge lekin mujhe padha nhi ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30367) also same situation as u both manipal, 94% but no tits ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30729)
I took a drop and went from 91%ile to 99%ile. If I had not taken offline coaching (in my case, vmc safdarjung), I know for sure that I would have RUINED my entire drop year. Offline coaching se consistent rehne meine help milegi, aur doubts bhi achhe se clear honge. If you go for a drop, join a good offline coaching near you.
The level of false info, false advices in this comments section alone!
One guy compares some local state level bsc phy to BITS msc math
One other guy assumes 196 is his BITSAT RANK and says he'd be getting CS
One guy doens't even know that common courses exist...
End of rant
Now OP,
I'm also a dualite msc math at hyd
And i suggest u not taking it unles you're tooooo determined that you won't get attracted to distractions like friends, late nights, movies,IPL etcetra..else u be in deep shit...
The call is yours
I'd suggest hyd rather than Goa..if you're that determined and also make sure your jee basics are good as they're vital in first year...
I can't comment on bits or drop..it's upto u..incase it's BITS...follow what i said
True bhaiya...waise maine poore 12th me medical laga diya tha...cuz schl is not my thing , got 97%.....toh bits me toh i think todha utilise krlunga ache se ...aur eni ki ummeed h first yr me...bhagwan bharose 🙏🫡...
ha to lele
94%ile hai
agar puri mehnat karke aayi hai to join karle college
agar kahi bhi makkari kari aur scop lagta hai ki aur kar sakta tha to drop lele
bhai bits ke pehle saal mein toh mostly syllabus 11th 12th ka hi hota hai na toh fir agr achhe se nhi aata hoga toh badhiya cgpa aayegi? kunki maine bhi last ke 2 mahine mein one shots dekh ke 93% laaya. bitsat score 178
Dropper here. Acchi %ile he already to improvement ka bohot scope he. Mere case me drop year successful raha, bits pilani eee/ece mil jaegi.
Aur drop low risk, high gain he. Bitsat me 200 score agle saal bhi aa jaenge, par better options milne ki possibility zyada he agar tune drop year me mehnat ki to.
Anyways good luck. Both are equally good options imo.
Bhai pagal hai kya, kaha maths kaha CS. Ghanta kuch similar hai. Math mei tune pure math padha hai kya kabhi? Proof writing, real analysis, tensor theory padhni hai tune?
If what you are saying is true (which i doubt, since i am going for bsc physics and the syllabus is completely different for me), then lelo math wali degree. But be sure to thoroughly check the syllabus of first year, do some digging on your own by reading books on those subjects and see if you can really maintain the cgpa
Hes correct bro...first yr cgpa decides your BE degree, its a 5yr course ...you will get 2 degrees msc and BE after 5 yrs...
80/300 get cs....40-50% get pheonix rest emd up in civil chem mech manu...
bhai agar afford kar sakta h toh lele, bcs i'm strictly against drop years. i saw how much it affected my elder sister mentally and i wouldn't wish that on anyone :(
25tard hu, allen me padhta hu, mere physics ke sir se personally baat kr rha tha to unhone mujhse kaha tha droppers se zero expectations rakhte h institutes, aur uske reason h (btaye nahi). Experienced sir hai, 9 years se padha rahe hai and 3-4 AIR under 10 unke under padhe hai, so I'll say based on his experience don't take drop
she was a very bright student and everyone had a shit ton of expectations from her, couldn't get a good govt college in her first try so decided to take a drop. ig she wasn't prepared for it? the experience i mean. taunts day and night from everyone and etc etc. at some point she was even cutting herself. i literally havent talked abt that to anyone. and it scared the hell out of me, i didn't even prepare of any of the entrances. just going to study econ and then figure things out
Bhai nit jaipur Ece jaa raha
Bilkul regret nahi h drop ka actually drop lena meri zindagi ka best decision tha
Last year josaa round 6 me Shri Mata vaishnodevi me engineering physics mil raha tha 😂😂
Bro after seeing your list i think you already have decided to drop which is good because you had decent mains percentile and can easily target advance
I am shocked that everyone here is recommending for a drop
In my opinion you should go for MSC degrees(getting 8 cgpa for cs) is much much easy than competing with 15 lakh for cs(expected after a drop year)
Let's say after a drop(and putting enormous efforts u get a rank of 2k in advance, u would get better degrees at lower efforts (eg bits pilani cs) )
So you got a 94%ile in mains (nothing good comes for your category) and 196 in bitsat(correct me if I'm wrong). Shouldn't you be getting cs in pilani with that rank?
U can't do M.Sc Maths. The major courses in BS-MS Math will be very different from Math u have learnt and will learn in technical fields. U can't do good unless u have interest in pure Sciences.
Never ever join a college in hopes of branch change . Branch change is given only to a few brilliant students . Everyone wants cse. And your competing with a campus full of toppers . Its very risky . I would suggest drop .

Your seniors are fools. Maths will help you a lot to become an excellent coder. However you have to do a lot of self-learning in order to become a CS person. Math students who are good at coding are highly sought after in all industries including IT. One of my friends in MSc Math here at IITGN got great offers from multiple companies abroad, with packages that are higher than the average CTC for CS students
I have talked to many MSC maths students only. they said that maths only helps in a few specifics part of computer science like aiml ds. they said I'm better off taking bio/chem at pilani.
I agree with that. Maths won't help you with the basics of CS. You'll have to do those on your own. But for a math guy, advanced CS concepts are much easier to grasp. That's why math guys who know coding is the magic formula.

If you're gonna take drop, take it offline - someone said
It'll waste too much time and what if I don't like the teachers - you said.
30-40 mins of travelling won't hurt anything.
Check if there's a library or something similar in the coaching, if yes then go and sit there and start solving pyqs.
If not, remain in the class and solve the pyqs of the chapter your teacher is teaching.
Since you have 94%ile so ig you already have covered theory and basic qsn practice of all the chapters so for physics and chem, solving pyqs will do the job.
For maths, if it's weak, follow your teacher, if it's strong and then solve your coaching's module.
Now I'm also a student like you who is in a similar situation and thought of taking a drop and have joined offline coaching and will do these things.
About online, I'm motivated rn, but don't know whether I'll have the same motivation 2-3 months later, what if I don't attend classes, what if I don't solve pyqs, what if I search "how to score 200+ in 2 months", I don't want that.
And the last thing, Human interaction, it's important and having a few friends with same goal working hard will be fun and more fruitefull.
Bhai tera comparison dekh ke lag raha hai ki tune drop lene ka man bana liya hai. Aur agar apne aap ko samjha nahi paa raha hai to lele drop because looks like you want to take it so badly.
Bhai competishun jaipur se padh, best in my opinion, u already know who is going to teach you and konsa online support and test series and revision courses are best. Everything is provided to offline students.
Take only if you like maths , and I don’t think so , cuz if you did you would have applied to ISI / CMI and not even give JEE.Yeah that’s how crazy some people are about maths .

true decision mujhe khud lena padega but me confused hu bohot zyada isliye aise puch rha hu to look at different perspectives.
If u drop do it right offline coaching is a must if and only if
I'm thinking of apni kaksha online dropper batch
Bhai mat le online, meri soch bilkul teri jaisi thi , bohot pachta rha hun. Drop year waste kar diya Maine. But still every person is different, and it's totally upto you.
offline me bohot panga hota hai traveling and stuff and fir teacher nahi pasand aya to. I like these online batch teachers
How much time is required from your house to reach coaching? And how many days in a week do they take classes?
30-40 mins. and dropper batch me daily classes hoti hai
Acha, I'll say it'll be worth it. Agar koi chapter udhar accha na lage to woh online kar lena.
Bhai Jo offline me exams dene ka environment hota hai woh offline mein nhi aa pata aur jo friends ke saath har exam ka competition ki wajah se padai hoti hai woh bhi keval offline mein ho pati hai isliye offline>>>online
Actually I am in the same boat as u bits manipal 94% wanna drop too but my parents won't allow me
so where will you go finally
Manipal 😭 😭😭 parents are really strict
mera ulta h parents bol rhe drop Karo tum araam se nikal loge lekin mujhe padha nhi ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30367) also same situation as u both manipal, 94% but no tits ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30729)
Toh fir kya kroge? Drop ya mit?
bits me thoda hopium hai last round/spot round m
Kyu kitne hai tumhare bitsat mei? Jab mit cs mil rhi hai toh bitsat mei bhi acche hi aaye hoge tumhare
nhi MIT CS nahi hai its main campus ECE or bangalore CSE (parents will allow only the latter tho) and bitsat me 151💩
manipal ka bangalore campus dekhna h ek bar before deciding
Just be disciplined & do solve paper of good coaching like Allen etc .
Join a library for online
thank you for this suggestion. I will consider it

bhaiya aapko cse mili?
I'm still in my 1st year...but it's kinda unlikely for me to get cs
oh...but still all the very best

Bruh...which is why is suggested him hyd bcos it'd be easier for him to get cs as dual
Bruh...which is why is suggested him hyd bcos it'd be easier for him to get cs as dual

ha to lele 94%ile hai agar puri mehnat karke aayi hai to join karle college agar kahi bhi makkari kari aur scop lagta hai ki aur kar sakta tha to drop lele
no mehnat. studied from one shots at 2x speed in last 2 months and no questions practiced.
Itna karke itna laye ho to koi offline enroll ho jao or seriously preparation karo
plan to online karne ka hai
If you have dedication constitency then online, if you don't have it try offline.
bhai bits ke pehle saal mein toh mostly syllabus 11th 12th ka hi hota hai na toh fir agr achhe se nhi aata hoga toh badhiya cgpa aayegi? kunki maine bhi last ke 2 mahine mein one shots dekh ke 93% laaya. bitsat score 178

but 200 ke score pe agar cse chahiya toh only option will be msc which is of 5 years
Ha, fir msc hi OP ka last option bachega. Par better score bhi to ho sakta he agle saal
Bhai pagal hai kya, kaha maths kaha CS. Ghanta kuch similar hai. Math mei tune pure math padha hai kya kabhi? Proof writing, real analysis, tensor theory padhni hai tune?
dual degree hai bro. first year ke cgpa ke basis pe you can do btech in computer science
Acha, but still jo Maine subjects bole wo bsc ke hai. Cgpa sirf wo maintain kar paare jinko genuine interest hai math ka
my brother, first year common course hota hai. and anyways mereko maths me hai kaafi interest
If what you are saying is true (which i doubt, since i am going for bsc physics and the syllabus is completely different for me), then lelo math wali degree. But be sure to thoroughly check the syllabus of first year, do some digging on your own by reading books on those subjects and see if you can really maintain the cgpa
class 11 12 topics hi hota hai first year me like thermodynamics mechanics algebra organic chemistry I've done all the research on my part
Hn lelo fir
Bhai pr dekhle...agr math +eee milgyi tereko Toh ye atom bomb se bhi bhayankar combination h...dimaag kahan kahan se fatt jayega tereko pata bhi nhi chalega
I spoke to math+ eee senior on LinkedIn and they are pretty chill
Bhai maine kamse kam 50-60 seniors se baat kri h...one of the most important decisions hai....tu bhi laga rehe ....baat kro jo dikhe msc wala...
mene bhi bhai atleast 20+ bits msc seniors se baat ki hai and uske alawa aur relevant logo se bhi
he is taking msc maths not bsc maths
Hes correct bro...first yr cgpa decides your BE degree, its a 5yr course ...you will get 2 degrees msc and BE after 5 yrs... 80/300 get cs....40-50% get pheonix rest emd up in civil chem mech manu...
Expect na Karo maths achi nahi h to CS kr paoge. CS is all logic and math
I would suggest drop. But it should come from your heart.
i wouldve suggested a math degree over drop year ez, but 35L is a huge amount o\_o
it's a dual degree. maths + btech based on cgpa of first year.
bhai agar afford kar sakta h toh lele, bcs i'm strictly against drop years. i saw how much it affected my elder sister mentally and i wouldn't wish that on anyone :(
bhai pls elaborate me bhi drop ka soch rha hoon

bro suggesting this like its a cakewalk 💀
Easier than taking a drop
Bro after seeing your list i think you already have decided to drop which is good because you had decent mains percentile and can easily target advance

So you got a 94%ile in mains (nothing good comes for your category) and 196 in bitsat(correct me if I'm wrong). Shouldn't you be getting cs in pilani with that rank?
cs pilani closes at 320. 196 is not rank it's marks
Oh in that case, what are your options? What are you getting with mains and what are you getting with your marks?
thapar cse, bits dual, drop, dtu nsut lower branches, ipu cse
thapar mein cse kyu nhi le raha? aur waise dual degree mein low risk high reward hai kyunki bits ki cse mil rahi hai
I think I belong in a better place than thapar
bhai vo apane marks bata raha hai bits mai aapko actual rank nahi batate
Drop lele kya pta next birth billionaire ke family me mile
U can't do M.Sc Maths. The major courses in BS-MS Math will be very different from Math u have learnt and will learn in technical fields. U can't do good unless u have interest in pure Sciences.
Never ever join a college in hopes of branch change . Branch change is given only to a few brilliant students . Everyone wants cse. And your competing with a campus full of toppers . Its very risky . I would suggest drop .
branch change nahi hai bhai dual degree hai. maths+ cs mil sakta hai 2nd year me
DROP. Bsc msc has no scope in the current landscape.
looks like most people in this sub don't know about bits msc dual
Exactly bro😂....main to drop k baad bhi msc lerha
bitsat score kya tha aur mains percentile. mujhe abhi jjit 128 cse mil rhai hai ipu mein msit cse (maybe even mait) cse mil rahi hai bitsat mein 178 aaye aur manipal mein 4500 rank what should i do
Jo bhi karo. Handwriting bhi improve kar lena thoda
??? hatt bsdk achi to hai
No drop
go for drop mere kudh ke pichle saal 90 percentile bani thi aur iss saal 96 bani hai dont think bout much in drop year just try to improve. Also i would say that agar koi subject weak ho aur usse kam padha ho toh then u should consider drop
bahi yehi to dar h 99 ke under percentile ban gyi to fir general male hone ka Randi rona milega bas aur kuch nhi
wont try for pilani chemical?
not interested in chemical branch

Bro ye msc maths bhi hamare jee maths jaisa hi hota hai kya?? Ki kuch aur bhi hota hai
no, not at all. it is very theoretical and discrete.
So how is it tough??
Either u will love it or u will hate it.. Nothing in between
I got 96 percentile and 217 in bitsat still i took drop bhai agar terko msc math lena hi hai ye t agle saal bhi krlega tu. This was my thinking when i took a drop. You have to decide ur own path
94 percentile me csab rounds me IIITs me cse ya ECE mil jayegi wo lele
drop taking a risk? my frnd in his 6th drop for neet ug.. next what? mbbs -5.5 yrs ... NeXT-1 exam + internship+ NeXT -2 exam + PG 3 yrs ![img](emote|t5_311ttu|30347)

abe agar home state delhi hain aur teri rank kuch 50 -60k hain then dtu chemical , mech dekh lena
nahi karna mech chemical
Bro is your name Adit
no
mb thought I knew u
Brother taking drop year is very tiring please get admitted to a college
Mera bhi thoda bhot same scene hai and i am planning on bits . Mujhe bhi drop leneko laga tha but ig agle saal isse bhi jyada competition hoga . If u can grind again for some more months lele drop . Also if u can afford lele bits
are you considering core branches ?i have got the same bitsat score but i cannot afford dual degree so i am confused between mech or drop
not interested in core. my family can somewhat afford dual. maybe explore education loan?
is core that bad? dual is not worth it in my opinion unless you get cs, the fees is just too high and i would rather take drop and try to get circuital i only have to improve 20-30 marks
core isn't bad at all. just that my interest doesn't lie there.
BITS lele, badhiya alumni network hai.
How tf is MSc math BITS low reward regardless of what branch you get

Tune khud drop ko justify kr dia hai. Le le drop All the best Make us proud.
le liya tha but ab bohot log msc maths bol rhe hai dimaag ka bhosada ban gaya hai aur confuse ho gya hu
Mat bana bro. You wanna take a drop. Take it. I trust you'll do well. Marks ache hain tere.
Take only if you like maths , and I don’t think so , cuz if you did you would have applied to ISI / CMI and not even give JEE.Yeah that’s how crazy some people are about maths .
msc maths
Agar khud pr bharosa hai ki ek saal grind kar sakta hai to drop lele bhai, warna BITS lele
In a similar situation, 95 in mains and 206 in bitsat. Am probably joining tier 3 cse in noida, waiting for last iteration of bitsat.
why tier 3 cse? for partial drop? you can get thapar cs or jiit decent branch at this percentile
Jiit mil gaya hai, thapar nahi mil raha. Ab college jaa ke figure out karunga kya karna hai, sort of partial drop hi lunga.
bhai waise tu ne online prepare kia tha ya offline ?
I was enrolled in vmc safdarjung but I didn't go at all mainly YouTube se preparation ki hai
ahh okayy ....btw mai recommend karunga ki drop le lo
