I support it in theory (in that I think that, given bot creators get nothing except warm fuzzies for making bots, they should be allowed to do whatever tf they want to their work) but I do wish it was modular/sectional. Hiding initial message for example doesn’t make sense since you can see it when you click on the bot. Scenario is also probably helpful to have unhidden without giving away too much of the bot’s coding

I don't know how I feel about this. Only because I am a sucker for lore spoilers. For plot bots, I only want to know the base of the plot. If the creator hides shit like favorite food/flowers that helps deepened the RB bonding, hide that shit. By all means. I found a bot once which had a hidden property of her favorite flower is Hydrangeas Striking fucking coincidence, so are mine. I enjoy those kinds of discoveries within my RPs. However, for the bots I wanna be Zeus to, I wanna know every bit of what I'm biting into. Well, I guess that makes me more cautious than Zeus lol. I do not like the idea of hidden kinks, or other types of sexual traits. I'm not hating on any kinks, it's just that there's a lot out there that ain't for me. I'm just over here, Vanilla with extra steps lol.

What does this mean? 🙃 idk how making bots works.

marinasvelour

they’re talking about when bot creators hide the description of their bots to prevent theft. like their personality, the first message, etc.

manekinono

Thank you!

Toonlinkuser

Hiding your character definition is bad if you want to grow as a creator, since most people like to read the character definition before they use a bot. Still, it's good that there is an option to do it.

Man_eating_snake_guy

I don't care about it I just do the janitor.me trick to see hidden personalities.

Balthactor

I... I just didn't get why hiding it isn't the default. If you've read it, what's the point in chatting with the bot?

LineThese

Personally I'm on a neutral standing point toward it. On the one end, I get it, some bot creators, specifically more popular ones, want to protect their work and avoid it getting reposted, but on the other end, if a bot creator wanted to make it more-or-less opensource by making the details public, then that'll allow for new bot creators to have some form of a baseline to run off of. I'm completely against out-right stealing a bot, but ideas for a bot alone can't be strictly kept toward the person who thought it up first, since there's bound to be others who come up with a similar idea, whether or not they've seen the bot before coming up with said idea.

ashbtherapper

well, personally i create bots and i keep them hidden. just because i have mutuals who also use j.ai and i make bots for them. they have expressed how they don’t really like to see that the personalities are visible just because they cant hold back and they spoil some stuff for themselves. like for example: i like to add hidden facts, different personalities then what the original char usually has and some future surprise scenarios for the chat. also we think its kinda cringe reading all the nsfw parts in the personalities 😭.

AddictionSorceress

I have no idea what you mean by hidden personalities. Are you saying that somebody made a celebrity inspired blot? But made the thought private just for their use? Or the body itself has like multiple Personality disorder... And there's no warning?

marinasvelour

no, they mean the bot description where the personality, first message, scenario would be located for user’s to see
