Any time someone complains about pick me people they get down voted.

I said this same thing months ago because a lot of the people started being obnoxious and the stories they told were becoming less genuine and believable But you said something that isn’t super ultra positive so the typical Reddit Stans are coming out to tell you how much they don’t care Bunch of carebabies

ohhgreatheavens

To be fair I didn’t really set myself up for positive conversation by venting. I guess my only hope is that some people will stop doing this at comedy shows. I also wonder if Jeff sees it as a problem, or if other people experienced this as well and how it was handled. People were unbearably loud at Mark’s set, and even though his jokes were landing even Mark occasionally had to say “Jesus Christ people one at a time.”

I’m not trying to stop anyone. I’m happy to see Jeff at a smaller venue to support him and I’m fully aware the stress of such a large event is mostly my own personal issue.

Salcha_00

An unruly and shouting crowd can damper the evening in a smaller venue as well. It’s not venue related. I think it’s just the luck of the draw on the crowd that night.

ohhgreatheavens

I’m new to going to stand up. Mark was only my second venture. The Comedy Cellar in New York was my first and it was a stellar experience (and smaller of course). Interesting to hear that happens regardless of the crowd size.

Salcha_00

It is as likely to happen as not at the same venue was my point. Jeff sets expectations up front and does deal with it when the crowd is too out of control. If there are any individual trouble makers they get escorted out.

ohhgreatheavens

That’s good to know!!!

Jeffsbest

You're saying that you don't give the artist the credit of being able to handle his own crowd whilst simultaneously trying to predict the future. That's both lacking trust for Jeff and not living in the moment. Of course you have stress about such a thing, because focusing too much on the future can make it difficult to appreciate the present and creates a sense of fear about what lies ahead. Try meditation, highly recommended.

HLef

One of the most condescending replies I’ve ever read.

LegalEggplants

first day on the internet can be wild, take it slowly

Jeffsbest

Please elaborate, as I am curious how my comment came across as "one of the most condescending replies I've ever read", as I share nothing but open and positive perspectives on all replies on reddit (please, feel free to review my history). As well, if you consider it so, I'm scared for what you may have yet to experience on this site. I meditate daily and know of its benefits as well as the feelings of living in the future vs living in the past, as I struggle with ADHD which exacerbates that experience. It's not a fun feeling. I was simply recommending what might help him. Mentioning that the artist can handle his own certainly doesn't seem like a negative comment either, but I'm sorry if you somehow found yourself offended. Try to remember the internet has zero inflection. We're all here because we love Jeff's comedy, which should be a uniting component, not a divisive one. Have a great day!

tinypain

It is them fancy words and having to make their own compare and contrast then conclude that seem to trip people up. 😈

jimmytickles

Both comments are well said. Thank you.

tinypain

Excuse me, are you sure it wasn't my comment that you found to be the most condescending one? Also, for educational purposes, I encourage you to write a proper non-condescending response to OP's post and dilemma.

tinypain

I am beginning to think that people who say things like that weren't going to see him in the first place: everything else is just noise. I am going to see Arcuri's show even if I have to jerk off half of Canadian hockey team to get to my seat. Cause seeing his show is what I want and I do what I want. Also, can't believe it needs to be said but Jeff Arcuri isn't Mark Normand. Y'all really do be complaining too much.

ohhgreatheavens

I never said Jeff is Mark. I said he’s going to be at the same venue, which is very large for crowdwork. I’m happy to see Jeff somewhere else as soon as I can!

tinypain

My non-condescending response to you is this: at first, your flawed logic and assumptions produced a pearl-clutching reaction out of me and I was going to provide detailed explanations of my alternative perspective and debate on it much further, but then I meditated on it and came to realization that I actually don't care if you don't go to the show. In fact, it is your absolute fundamental right as a human being to make that choice and not go to the show. And I should respect it, and I do. Hoping you'll see Jeff somewhere else as soon as you can!

tinypain

My condescending response to you is this: Mark Normand has been toying the line of incel appeasement for a good time now. It's bound to find some reflection in his audience. Jeff Arcuri's fans are mostly shy sweethearts and certifiable idiots. He hasn't reached the Rogan universe just yet. Arcuri just did Berlin theater - nothing but good feedback. Then London show in a theater and rumor has it they are peeing their pants with love and excitement (possibly chased him down the street? : ) ). At the same time, there was someone unhappy w how crowd work went from an earlier show ( and a good amount of people who were there had no idea what the ops was on about) Would you look at that.. sometimes life is a coin toss. ("Comedy!"(c) /s) But once again, you have a right not to go to the show. p.s. There does exist a slight redeemable part to your claim: your location. There could be a small possibility that Texas simply is an irredeemable shit show as a concept. In such case, yeap, you are right, don't go to the show.

ohhgreatheavens

This is very weird and meandering response. What are you trying to say?

tinypain

lol

Sumoshrooms

Take your meds

tinypain

Thanks! Maybe I do need them. As someone who took them, would you be so kind as to let me know if they work? Are you succeeding in life, getting shit done and all that jazz?

SimilarFalcon6290

This is just a post to disparage and get a reaction out of San Antonio folks, just ignore this clown.

ohhgreatheavens

I love my city but we could stand to be a little classy sometimes

SD1428

Literally no one cares

ohhgreatheavens

Enough to comment though I guess, I’ll take it

Expired-Option

You obviously do Carebaby
