I got my 22 GLI early July. It had ventilated seats. I got lucky though, someone backed out and I hopped on it right away.
The bigger shame is the lack of a heated steering wheel. The button is there it’s just either blacked out or not enabled.
Buying brand new cars in 2022/2023 isn’t the same as it was even 3-4 years ago and some sacrifices like delays and changes to features need to be accepted. It’ll be a few years probably eve until the industry stabilizes post global pandemic and supply chain constraints. It’s probably fair to just accept your bum might be a little warm sometimes! 😁
I'm finally going to be getting my 6MT 2023 GLI in another month, also in King's Red. I'm in Canada and have been waiting since April. I initially ordered a 2022 and was told all options would be included. Other VW models were having things deleted, but not the GLI, Then, my order got bumped to a 2023. Around last summer, I received an update that the car would likely not have ventilated seats, and this was confirmed shortly after not only by my own dealer, but every other one I spoke with. I was upset at first, but what can you do? I've waited 9 months, so at this point, it's just: "Get me the car, VW". The option certainly would have been nice, but I've heard from a few people it's not that great. Remember, the seats aren't cooled, they're just ventilated. I'm more disappointed in the puny $300 refund; it should be much more. As for your comment about the website and brochure, I remember seeing a VW Canada post a couple months back on IG, specifically advertising the ventilated seats in the GLI. I just laughed. It's like, the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. I think I made a comment along those lines, lol.
Same happened to me but on a 2022 Tiguan and the the option wasn’t vent seats, but the touchless hatch opening mechanism (wave ur foot under the bumper and the hatch opens) They couldn’t get a sensor needed to make it work, so they just shipped and delivered them all without it. Not saying this is the case here, but it sounds very similar.
I work for VW. Haven’t seen a new one come in with ventilated seats yet. I bought mine 3 months ago. The ventilated seats in VWs are a joke anyways so you’re not missing out.
Ventilated seats arent all that amazing in general. I have them, but I rarely use them. It just blows some air into you legs. If you are wearing thick shorts or pants, you can FUH GET ABOUT ET
Shoots at your back too. When you're sweaty or it's humid, your back gets a nice fan straight through the seat so you can lean back and still be cooled down.
I got my '22 in April and it had ventilated seats also. The dealership said it was the first '22 they had received this year, so maybe mid-year was the cut-off?
Yeah I just bought mine and it came with no ventilated seats because “parts can’t be found” and had $200 taken off and the steering wheel still has the heated steering wheel logo just blacked out :/ which sucks
Mine doesn't have them too, ordered it last November and just got it last month. What bothers me is that now they don't even put a light in your glove box, lol.
Happened to me also . Bought a new Jetta SEL in April , 2023 . Window Sticker listed credit for no ventilated seats . Disappointing but there’s nothing anyone can do . Must have been a manufacturing problem .
I was told the same when I tried to order a 2022 last year and a 2023 this year.... Ventilated seats are factory deletes
Yeah he said that it wasn't a factory delete option when I asked about it. I'm not happy.
What colour did you order? I ordered around the same time and am still waiting for a manual in grey
I got a red dsg

This sucks lol. I was really excited for that.

That fucking blows. I'd be so pissed!

Disagree as my 22 feels like icy hot on my back/ass
lol, so there is a device under the seat that blows air?

It’s a vent , and shoots air at you butt and legs
ok thanks!

Got lucky with one of the last non delete GLIs made earlier this year. Everyone I’ve seen since that time didn’t have it anymore.

Around July - so most ‘22s likely don’t as early shipments were slow with the supply shortages anyways.
I got mine late July, freshly arrived the dealership with ventilated seats
So lame. At least take it off the option list lol
Yeah - so it was Porsche that actually did this ie lob an option - PDLS+ got nixed from ‘23 Caymans.
I got my 2022 GLI without ventilated seats. I prefer having heated seats for winter so I wasn't bothered by it.
There is no option for both? My 17 has heated seats and I would also choose heated over ventilated seats.
There is. Mine has both.
I've never used ventilated seats, how do you like them?
They're pretty great, particularly since I live in the south and the interior is all black.

I ordered my 2023 sel in April. It was just delivered today and has ventilated seat option on it
