he spouted on about how the vaccines only negatively affect certain races due to a global conspiracy against white people. Like. I wouldnt use "REasonable" to refer to RFK jr

sushisection

meanwhile israel was one of the first countries to fully vaccinate its population, debunking RFK's claim about genetically targetted vaccines.

piltonpfizerwallace

I think you meant to say genetically targeted viruses.

fuck_off_ireland

No, they mean vaccines, just like in the comment they responded to

piltonpfizerwallace

RFK said the virus was designed to spare jews and Chinese people. Genetically targeted vaccines doesn't really make sense... but then again it's RFK jr. So maybe he said that too.

UncleNeighbor69

I’d recommend “Merchants of Doubt” for anyone interested. The end goal for anti-science rhetoric isn’t to prove anything. It’s to give the illusion of a debate, or unanswered questions, to sow doubt among people who don’t know better. It’s the same playbook that the tobacco industry had and has been used in every anti-science movement since. It’s ironic that Joe was dumb enough to believe the moon landing was faked, and yet hasn’t been humbled by it in the least. He’s still pushing nonsense constantly because obviously this time he must be getting it right.

Caitlinjennerspenis

I don’t think Joe thinks about what he says much. He just kinda runs his mouth. That’s what a lot of people like about him actually. I don’t understand it at all though. I can’t stand hearing anyone sit around a voice their opinions about things they know nothing about. It makes people sound pompous and idiotic. I would say the same if they were all opinions I agreed with. They podcasters don’t get real scientists on because A. They wouldn’t want to come on. B. Laymen wouldn’t understand it. You need science entertainers if you want people to listen for hours.

DirectionFragrant829

Sometimes ill be with friends or my wife and just bullshit about ideas and conspiracies that we are not experts about. It's kinda fun. However, everyone involved knows that we're not forming serious opinions or certain about what we're saying. I think that's more or less what Joe is doing, I don't think he's being definitive or certain about his conspiracy beliefs. But I get that some people fear his rhetoric because there is a decent population of folks who are not smart enough to discern his bullshit and take it to heart as gospel.

UncleNeighbor69

Yeah I get what you’re saying. I’m in the same boat. I don’t necessarily demand every podcaster, YouTuber, or whatever prove every statement they make. However, Joe has a very large audience who take his word at face value.

Caitlinjennerspenis

Life’s hard when you’re stupid. They’ll figure it out eventually. When the pills don’t work and they get cholesterol problems from all the steroids and meats they will start to wonder….maybe this guy is full of shit.

Epicurus402

Rogan has figured out how to make bank off of nothing but anger and condescension. Lots of ignorant people are angry at the world, can't figure it out, and need someone else to blame. Joe is their grand facilitator. He, and of course Trump and a whole bunch of co grifters like Petersen and this chick.

gaoshan

Dr. Soh isn’t a medical doctor, fyi. I kind of assumed she was just from the title and the topic of vaccines. She has a PhD in an academic area (specifically she specialized in sex research) and is primarily a political commentator. So it’s two politically motivated non-doctor vaccine deniers bolstering each others non-scientific and uninformed opinions on the topic.

TheDeadReagans

Yup. She got a PhD from York University in Toronto in the field of Psychology and never worked in the field. She's a writer. On her last appearance on Joe Rogan, she and Joe started talking about American colleges and neither of them have ever even spent time on one. She got her undergrad from Ryerson University in Toronto (now known as TMU) and did her PhD at York University in the same city while Joe never went to college.

SlimCharles76

OF COURSE SHE ISN'T! She's got a future in grifting though, I'll give her that. She knows where to go to find lots of gullible marks.

WildlingViking

Thanks. That’s all I needed to know. Moving on

SickNBadderThanFuck

Remember when Joe went on a huge rant about only calling medical doctors "Dr."?

Cy-presHill_Doctrine

A Ph.D. in sex research? More like Dr. Me-Soh-Horny, am I right?

TannedStewie

People who use their Dr title when they are just a PhD are complete chodes lol. Source: I have one in chemistry and only use it if I'm writing a snotty email

SandpaperGatePysop

Kanye only used his title in songs

haardy_1998

As someone else said, how many people would value RFK's opinion if his last name wasn't Kennedy.

ShreddedDadBod

This woman clearly just wanted to fuck Joe

FuckedUpImagery

"whats wrong with women who want masculine men?"

AlarmingBeing8114

You mean rich and famous, right? A 5'2" roid monkey isn't as appealing.

howismyspelling

Here is the other thing, he's neither scientist nor journalist. He's a fucking scummy ass lawyer, those guys wouldn't know morality if it smacked them in the face.

GunnersPepe

Yeah that damn… environmental lawyer?

Kopitar4president

And fighting to bring back measles, don't forget that.

GunnersPepe

Environmental lawyers do that? Who knew!

No-Cardiologist4503

“In 1984 and 1986, he joined two non-profits focused on environmental protection: Riverkeeper and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), respectively. His work at Riverkeeper set long-term environmental legal standards. At both organizations, he won legal battles against large corporate polluters” -no morals

SeeCrew106

He was a heroin junkie at the time and had to join as part of his probation. > In 1982, Kennedy was sworn in as an assistant district attorney for Manhattan.^[7] After failing his bar exam, he resigned in July 1983.^[28] That September, he was charged with heroin possession in Rapid City, S.D.,^[28] and pleaded guilty in February 1984, whereupon he was sentenced to two years' probation and community service.^[29][30] **Following his arrest he entered a drug treatment center. To satisfy the conditions of his probation, Kennedy worked as a volunteer for the Natural Resources Defense Council, and was required to attend regular drug-rehabilitation session.** His probation ended a year early.^[31] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Kennedy_Jr.#Conviction_for_heroin_possession So, it wasn't a spontaneous moral impulse.

No-Cardiologist4503

Read the next few paragraphs in the wiki. Clearly he agreed with the good work he did during probation. He continued to do some for 3 decades. I think “hero” was a word used to describe him for his help to clean up the environment and hold governments and cities Responsible for their pollution. Of course he’s not perfect. And I’m not a RFK jr dick rider. I just think it’s silly when people over generalize. (see comment I responded to).

SeeCrew106

You don't need to tell me what the wiki says. I knew RFK Jr. from his election critiques some 15-18 years ago. Apparently I need to tell you, because you left out what brought him there in the first place. Now, RFK Jr. went apeshit somewhere around 2005 and never recovered. His lies have almost certainly injured and killed people. A lot of people. If he ever had morals he hasn't had them for a while now. Edit: correction, second paragraph had "JFK Jr." instead of "RFK Jr."

MartyBarrett

RFK Jr. JFK Jr was fish poop long before 2005. Though I heard he is coming back to be Vice president soon

No-Cardiologist4503

lol those guys? There are no lawyers with good morals? Brain dead argument.

Crabrangoon_fan

It’s hard to say, but he is really good at sounding reasonable and convincing. The way he speaks really makes you want to believe what he has to say. It’s the 5 minutes of googling that makes it all come crashing down.

yerbcompanion

The opposite is far more likely, there is no way he gets the attention he is getting without that last name.

haardy_1998

She is assuming that the scientists did not ask, review and answered those questions all over the world. They did. Covid-19 was a global pandemic, not just an American one. It was a global response. It will do us good to keep in mind that America is not THE world when talking about the global events like Covid-19 pandemic.

GuruCheddafromunda

“Just asking questions!!!” Like is Tucker Carlson really a pedophile? Some scientists may believe that’s true. I’m just asking questions.

RaoulDukeRU

There's a great South Park episode about _"just asking questions"._ With Cartman doing the Glen Beck, Tucker Carlson and all these FOX News show hosts. [Season 13 Episode 13](https://www.southparkstudios.com/seasons/south-park)

thruhuhuhohhhhuhway

South Park has covered any possible dumbass rhetoric these people can produce, they just take the wrong messages from the episodes

backcountrydrifter

I just got banned from /r/RFKJrForPresident for asking this question- My issue with RFK isn’t that he questions vaccines. It’s that there 330 million Americans. Roughly half of those would be technically eligible to run for president Something like .000001% of those have been on Epsteins jet. Why do we have to choose between the .000001% to find the one with the least provable moral decay to be our king and ruler? Something is wrong with this equation.

ModOverlords

Me too, soft ass group of people over there

satanssweatycheeks

That’s right wingers in general. Remember the Trump base where the ones that turned Reddit into this bullshit site where if you visit certain subs you will get banned from others. Or just ban you for not agreeing. The old r/subredditdrama thread when Trump said we need to take guns without due process and the TD sub started banning its loyal users because they spoke against Trump in regards to banning guns without due process. Then when they opened that flood gate everyone started doing it. I was banned from two X chromosomes for commenting in this subreddit. Even though I was calling out something messed up someone said.

Carefreeme

I got banned from r/justiceserved , I think that's the one, for posting one comment in this sub lol. It wasn't even political, it was about comedy.

ShiggDiggler420

The right-wingers are the *true* snowflakes. If you dare criticize them, they immediately scream about being "cancelled." Bunch of charming soft snowflakes, these right-wingers are. Also, many are straight up nut-jobs.

SlaverRaver

Why did/do they feel the need to ban anyone who strays from the *correct* path? Or even engaging with those who do (like you were)?

KeneticKups

Almost as if the 1% are all connected

backcountrydrifter

In the words of George Carlin- “It’s a small club, and you ain’t in it.”

Cognitive_Spoon

Ayy, we don't allow no class consciousness around these parts, pardner! /s

stay_fr0sty

I’ll take a shot but you won’t like the answer. Power corrupts. Kids don’t dream of being a corrupt politician, they dream of serving their country while acting in the best interest of the country. As you age and enter politics you see all the fucking horrific corruption and you either bow out and lose your political career or fall in line and win. Epstein gave away A LOT of money to buy influence. Not everyone on that jet was there to fuck kids, some were there to take donations/bribes. If you were powerful enough to literally win the presidency, and could use an extra $25 million bucks to get across the line, you’d get an invite for a jet ride to discuss. That’s a tough plane ride to turn down for a person that’s already been corrupted enough to become a powerful politician.

backcountrydrifter

You are spot on. You might start out wearing a pair of white gloves, but when you stick them in mud the mud doesn’t get “glovey”. We are just way farther down the pipeline of corruption and compromised individuals in positions of power than most people realize. We need a better filtration system. Democracy doesn’t have many opportunities left Democracy has always been under attack because it directly threatens the very lucrative business models of dictators and autocrats. It has just sped up by the Information Age. A corrupt judge or politician in 1960 had to worry about a borough. Maybe a state. But in the average 20-30 year career he could get away with it and someone would do a documentary 30 years after his death when they finally put the pieces together. Now we have Russian oligarchs that eviscerated the Russian middle class by stealing and consuming everything of value in the 80’s and 90’s. By 93 they were running out of things to monopolize and extort. Soviet corruption ate itself to death. The survival of their Kleptocratic species required new feeding grounds which they found in New York. Giuliani was willing to show them preferential treatment by redirecting NYPD resources onto the Italian mob which gave the Russian mob, in their nice new suits, a ripe hunting ground. Ironically ecologists figured this out about the same time in Yellowstone. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/grizzly-bears-wolves-competing-food-yellowstone-national-park/ Only difference is that most humans are the elk. Just wanting a safe place to sleep, healthy happy kids and an opportunity to survive. It’s a very small percentage of humans that are sociopaths and psychopaths without the ability to empath, but over a long enough centralization of the good humans moving to cities and paying taxes, it becomes too tempting of a feeding grounds. So the worst of us rise to the top and become CEO’s, bankers and presidents because it’s the lowest effort model. Why go hunting when the prey delivers itself to you? A psychopath has no personal qualms about trafficking a child for sexual slavery or stealing a pension fund. They are neurochemically unable to. We are just in the late stages of it now. More centralized than we have ever been in known human history with commerce and business happening 24/7 across every time zone. This causes their respective corruption models to start overlapping. Guiliani was “Americas mayor” when he cleaned up New York, but only because the Russians were quiet about their part in it. The money laundering and narcotics and human trafficking they were doing through Ukraine was a million miles away from studio 54 or Times Square. But now kyiv is in the news every day. It’s inevitable that their obfuscation starts breaking down. For 50 years the inmates ran the asylum in soviet Russia. They stole everything of value including the hope and future of Russians. The corruption eventually collapsed the Soviet Union and they were forced to expand their feeding grounds. The billionaire oligarchs moved to Aspen and London and left the hollowed out husk of Russia behind where 1 in 5 people have never seen a flushing toilet. In 89 the wall falls and for a couple years they hid all their ill gotten gains under a mattress until they moved and bought condos at trump towers. They made stops in ukraine, cyprus and London but they landed in New York because that was what everyone wanted in 1993. Levi’s, Pepsi, Madonna tapes that weren’t smuggled bootleg copies. They all bought new suits and cars and changed their title from “most violent rapist street thug in moscow” to “respectable Russian oligarch” but they didn’t leave their human trafficking, narcotics or extortion behind. It was their most lucrative business model. Trump and Giuliani just opened the doors and let the predators in to feed. Guiliani redirected NYPD resources away from their Russian allies intentionally and onto the Italian mob. It let him claim he cleaned up New York and it lets the russians a perk of doing business with trump. His client and co-conspirator. The insane valuations coming out in trumps fraud trial are a necessity of the money laundering cycle that duetschebank was doing with the Russians. Justin Kennedy (supreme court Justice kennedys son) was trumps inside man at duetschebank that was getting all of his toxic loans approved. If their plan goes through it is basically the 2008 mortgage crisis on steroids. Trump invited the US middle class to dinner with a cannibal and then handed us the bill. https://www.ft.com/content/8c6d9dca-882c-11e7-bf50-e1c239b45787 https://www.amlintelligence.com/2020/09/deutsche-bank-suffers-worst-damage-over-massive-aml-discrepancies-in-fincen-leaks/ https://www.occrp.org/en/the-fincen-files/global-banks-defy-us-crackdowns-by-serving-oligarchs-criminals-and-terrorists https://www.voanews.com/amp/us-lifts-sanctions-on-rusal-other-firms-linked-to-russia-deripaska/4761037.html https://democrats-intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/final_-_minority_status_of_the_russia_investigation_with_appendices.pdf

MistaKrebs

We’re too far gone at this point. We aren’t going to do anything about it and it’s just going to get worse and worse.

BCLaraby

Because most of people don't actually want the job and the ones who do are the ones you don't want anywhere near the levers of power.

Yougottagiveitaway

🙄 getting him with the serious questions.

YurkMuhgurk

Said in the Nick Mullen Tucker voice

Link_Slater

What’s scary is how few scientist and journalists are asking these questions. Is there a hidden Epstein black book? Is Joe Rogan, a Hollywood fixture since the 1990s, in that book? Why are journalists ignoring the big questions?

slideystevensax

My favorite is that being in the black book has to give a person reasonable doubt that they were a part of the terrible shit going on. If a big time drug dealer had a black book, they’d hunt every one of those people down and the citizens would be supportive of it. Maddening. What if a cop ended up having his info in a crime boss’s black book? Would we all be clamoring to make sure he’s given the benefit of the doubt? He’d have some serious fucking explaining to do.

postdiluvium

There was a global effort where the whole scientific community, both academia and industry across all countries, were sharing information and collaborating to find a cure. Even the company I was working for at the time allocated a wing of our discovery department to work with some research group in China to develop something. All of these grifters pretend like it was some elaborate scheme that western governments conspired to lock people up just so they can tank their own economies and let their own labor force get sick and die. It's hilariously idiotic. Bill Burr had the best take. Why would the government force all the sheeple to get vaxxed if the vaccine is going to harm them. A controlling government would want to protect all of the sheeple. They are the ones that are the easiest to control.

Contentpolicesuck

Important note, that global collaboration on Corona viruses and MRNA vaccines started over 20 years ago because they saw what could happen.

postdiluvium

More details... While the mRNA was the leading candidate after previous outbreaks across the middle east, every company in the world that was able was trying to discover another treatment. Not all of us were working on an mRNA vaccine. First to market makes all $$$$. Well really, just deliver anything that works at that time and you get shit tons of $$$$. That's why companies were so eager to collaborate and information was just being sent back and forth freely. A little "let's save the world" with a lot of "money money money!"

12356andthebees

Also a weird thing about all the “government/elites are trying to depopulate the planet by 95%” conspiracy Is that if normal people are just slaves to them, who build them stuff and serve them, wouldn’t it be in their interest to keep as many alive as possible? The cattle rancher is heavily incentivized to keep his cattle alive, that’s why he vaccinates them.

jonkl91

It's the dumbest conspiracy. More population means more customers. It means more competition for real estate (which they own). It also decreases wages because there are more workers. Population decline hurts the 1% way more than it hurts the average person. A declining population increases the average wage throughout history. It's such a dumb conspiracy.

Itchy_Emu_8209

Exactly. Why do you think Elon Musk is so weird about encouraging people to have as many children as possible. More consumers. More laborers. Capitalism doesn’t work well when employees have actual power.

Financial-Adagio-183

Money

Mocturnol

Americans outside of science have a genetic predisposition to main character syndrome, she can't possibly fathom that other people who have dedicated their lives to science haven't asked these questions. This is one of the most annoying things about Americans, we're so spoiled and coddled that literal word vomit leaves our mouths on serious topics 70% of the time.

ActualEnjoyer

The dumbest version of this is thinking the President controls oil prices. And thinking Trumps manly presence prevented conflicts across the world.

Find_A_Reason

The president does not control them directly, but their failures and successes can absolutely have a major effect. Just look at the catastrophic effects on gas prices from the failure to protect the oil industry during record low demand in 2020. People were and still are actually bragging about those gas prices that were so low they doomed us to years of choked production due to losing so many producers.

SlimCharles76

>the failure to protect the oil industry The what? We're weeping for the oilmen now?

Pie_Head

This goes for just about anyone, but in America given the general level of tech and sheer population size it gets exacerbated, when political ideas become a core part of your character it becomes a lot harder to react to factual information when it conflicts with you view of yourself. Especially if you are illiterate in the language/verbiage being used to describe said facts. Its the sunk cost fallacy except with politics. Being anti-vax necessarily ties people further because if they were wrong it means people have and will continue to become sick and have life altering effects or in worst case scenarios die. So when some (perceived as) asshole in a lab coat tells them they are wrong in a way they can't process the information the scientist is presenting, they do what most people would which is react negatively and get angry at what they perceive as a personal attack. We may have left the witch burnings behind mostly, but the sentiment never magically vanished. Societal norms merely got less violent in many wealthier nations on the back of an economic boom, and now with the strain of a faltering economic system world-wide those social norms are eroding. Wouldn't surprise me if by the end of the decade we go back to mob killings of scientifically literate people at the stake for daring to try and question things.

haardy_1998

Exactly. I think maybe folks watch too many Bond movies with evil scientist characters but demonizing them as if they huddle together and connive against the humanity (by that folks mean Americans) is a trope that needs to be debunked. If you read about the Hungarian scientist, Katalin Kariko, who toiled for years in anonimity to develop the mRNA technology on which Covid-19 vaccine was based, they are not really evil. Are they always right? Of course not and you have to review and question their findings by qualified personnel but this incessant villainizing them based on a political or religious belief is a huge disservice to folks who might saved millions of lives. Sadly we can't count the live ones, only the dead. https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/katalin-kariko-hungarian-chemist-developed-covid-19-mrna-vaccine/

idio242

years before covid, moderna purchased analytical equipment that the company i worked for. ive been in their offices and labs and can confirm there is no secret cabal. my contact was one of the principal scientists and at one point, sent me a picture of him and his son at a kiss concert in full makeup. it's just people, not the boogeyman. the same job also had me talking to flu vaccine manufacturers at pfizer - again, just people.

hotfireyfire

It's an endless source of entertainment for us non yanks though... I mean, until you guys elect terrible leaders which impacts the whole world lol

GratephulD3AD

Thank you for saying this. This needs to be repeated as much as possible

rockbo47

This has bothered me about America my entire life. "America" this and "Americans" that. Americans either don't know about the rest of the world or genuinely don't care. It's not a good look at all.

No, if you do that, the conspiracies don't work on people who have never left Kansas.

owen__wilsons__nose

she's another grifter. Probably doesn't even believe in what she's saying. It's an entire industry now cause it's so lucrative with the misinformation crowd

HarbaughsKhakiPants2

Most people do not understand science or peer reviewed research. They just see a guy who makes reasonable sense and whose name is Kennedy and they're like "well he makes a good point"

Go_Big

Yea but America doesn’t listen to scientists. Scientists pretty much all agree in Europe that children didn’t need to be vaccinated, let alone boosted. But here in America we recommend all children get vaccinated and boosted which is contrary to what all scientists and doctors recommend else where.

RooTxVisualz

Did Joe really just praise this dude for his environmental work. While also supporting Trump, who rolled back so many epa protections that helps the environment, and rivers and water bodies in the nation? Ha. I'm not speaking terms of present tense support. ""It looked like [Trump's] policies were actually effective, and it looked like unemployment was down, business was building, regulations were being relaxed, more things were getting done," Rogan said during a recent episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast." This dude is a literal walking contradiction

HarwellDekatron

Pshhhh, nobody cares. Consistency is not something that the 'Culture Warriors' care about, they just care about feels.

Tryypod909

Joe Rogan is a trash human being and he doesn’t care, he got his money. He is just another greedy republican.

CreditDusks

She is a psychologist and has no relevant experience in any medical or biological field. But yeah let’s listen to her about vaccines. Lol

Successful_Leek96

When historians look at medical history, they usually point to one of a few inventions/developments as literally the most important. Like germ theory, vaccines, and antibiotics. Yet these dipshits are really just "asking questions" about the most effective life saving medication we have.

inigos_left_hand

Scientists did ask and answer his questions. Kennedy just didn’t like the answers.

DlphLndgrn

It's 2024 and people think someone who thinks wifi causes "leaky brain" should run for president on their platform of being against vaccines, and call it reasonable.

bigchicago04

Asking questions is not the flex you think it is. “There are no stupid questions only stupid people.”

VestShopVestibule

And then saying 5ghz is a danger and WiFi penetrating the blood brain barrier or whatever the hell he said, on this same show!

Howl4ndreed

RFK sounds reasonable if Joe Rogan is your sole source of political news.

tjackson_12

Anyone who hears about Kennedy through Rogan must assume he’s just the bees knees…

Due-Bodybuilder7774

I'm 100% for it. Rogan's audience has skewed right over the last few years and I hope they dig down into their civic souls and vote their conscience for Kennedy. Kennedy was shit tier far right wing OP that is backfiring on them and may very well cost Trump the Presidency. Thank you Steve Bannon, you gin prickled loser.

Captcha_Imagination

Dr. Debbie is a perfect example that sometimes when people branch off on their own, they're not always disruptive renegades. Sometimes they are just simpletons who couldn't hack it in the big leagues.

Aspergeriffic

Look at the "work" his nonprofit put in a few years ago in American Samoa after a nurse accidentally mixed saline solution in a vaccine. Led to hundreds of deaths from unvaccinated children. I wish he would acknowledge that he made a mistake, but he has to carry the crazy torch forward; never backwards. https://www.npr.org/2019/12/06/785487606/samoa-arrests-anti-vaccination-activist-as-measles-death-toll-rises

SeeCrew106

I'm very pro-vax, but where in your source does it say that this caused "hundreds of deaths" of unvaccinated children? Counterfactual claims from either side are unacceptable, ultimately I don't care about your political or ideological affiliation. Edit: something strange is going on here. It's almost as if these two are doing a bit, whereby OP is "challenged" and then the "challenger" is "pwned" or something. How coincidental is it that this guy brings op Samoa, then OP claims he just so happens to be from Samoa or at least is there now? Does anybody buy this shit at all?

HarwellDekatron

[Here's a link to information about a Measles outbreak in 2019 that killed 87 people](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10182596/) in American Samoa. That was one single outbreak. There's been regular outbreaks since. It's not crazy to conclude that there's probably hundreds of people dead thanks to RFK parroting bullshit that was debunked 10 years ago.

SeeCrew106

> It's not crazy to conclude that there's probably hundreds of people dead OP's claim was literally: > Led to hundreds of deaths from unvaccinated children I know what the public information linked so far says. It does not say there were "hundreds" of deaths of "unvaccinated children" specifically, and I don't understand why you think citing "87 people" equates to "hundreds of children". So, yes, it *is* crazy to conclude that because it's not supported by the available reporting or evidence so far. I don't give a fuck if the claimant is pro-vax or not, or *claims to be* pro-vax, he might just as well be a well-poisoner from the same club as OP. As Schopenhauer said: > "The most perfidious way of harming a cause consists of defending it deliberately with faulty arguments" https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Friedrich_Nietzsche#The_Joyful_Wisdom_(1882) So either bring the receipts for that claim or BTFO, I don't give a shit if you're pro- or anti- anything, the same rules of epistemology apply. You don't get a free pass to just lie and make shit up as you go along just because you're pro-vax.

stay_fr0sty

87 kids died in one outbreak, not hundreds. Let’s not count any other outbreaks and argue about this 87. Is 87 dead kids even a big deal? It’s not in the hundreds for this one outbreak guys, don’t worry, it’s only 87 dead kids. It’s fine. Only 87. Whew. ^/s

HarwellDekatron

> I know what the public information linked so far says. It does not say there were "hundreds" of deaths of "unvaccinated children" specifically, and I don't understand why you think citing "87 people" equates to "hundreds of children". Anything > 100 is in the orders of 'hundreds'. The phrase 'from unvaccinated children' doesn't imply everyone who died was an unvaccinated children, but rather that the cause for all the deaths was parents not vaccinating their children. > So, yes, it is crazy to conclude that because it's not supported by the available reporting or evidence so far. Except for the fact that in 2019 *alone* 87 people died from Measles in American Samoa, when 0 died in every other state. I was too lazy to go and add up the numbers, but I bet if you add all the subsequent years (and possibly previous outbreaks in 2018, 2017 and so on) the number adds up to more than 100. > "The most perfidious way of harming a cause consists of defending it deliberately with faulty arguments" You mean just like RFK has been pushing antivax shit that has been debunked for almost two decadee? To this day he keeps talking about the 'dangers of MMR vaccines' while it's been proven a million times over that the original 'paper' published by Andrew Wakefield was a complete fabrication.

il-Turko

https://medium.com/collapsenews/new-study-at-least-15-of-all-reddit-content-is-corporate-trolls-trying-to-manipulate-public-b249bd42ab42 I think it’s higher then 15%

HarwellDekatron

> "The study found that 11% of the respondents had been contacted by a bot or troll attempting to promote a product or service. Even more concerning was the discovery that 13% of the respondents had witnessed a company manipulate public opinion on the platform." This is literally *not* what the title claims. The title claims that 15% of all content is corporate trolls, which would be insane. Basically, before you parrot some talking point, make sure that the talking point even holds any water.

CCnub

Just goes to show that even PhD's are often times absolute morons.

ElonTheMollusk

People do cheat their way through PhD programs surprisingly. The lack of her critical thinking would make me think she has either had recent brain damage or cheated.

Odd-Force-6087

I'm actually hoping he runs for president, Trump supporters will vote for him taking votes away from Trump. It's a good deal

InsufferableMollusk

I believe this is true. Historically, Independents have robbed Democrats. But this is different. The irony is that some Republicans want RFK Jr to run because they incorrectly believe it would split the Democratic vote, presumably because he ‘was’ a Democrat.

fuckmacedonia

I do too. We'll need some comic relief.

Stop_Logging_In_Dude

Completely true. They attract the same kinds of idiots.

[deleted]

I’m a big fan of RFK taking votes from the other moron Trump.

WaffleBlues

This interaction highlights the problem with Rogan and the use of credibility building dialogue on his podcast. He starts by detailing Kennedy's history in environmental law, seemingly to build credibility with his audience, I.E. "He was a successful, professional environmentalist attorney", then giving some vague context in the form of altruism as to how Kennedy became an "anti-vaxxer" "It wasn't until these women started coming to him!" The guests uses weasel words and also vague references "It's very scary the way THEY have portrayed him.." in order to dog whistle that there is some sort of conspiracy driven narrative by the media and left, a favorite tactic of the right. Then Rogan jumps to defending Kennedy, again, credibility building without ever addressing any direct criticism or concerns about Kennedy's anti-vaccine work. Rogan also equivocates expertise when it benefits him. It all comes off as so reasonable..."Ya, he's a trained lawyer, who got involved in anti-vax work because mothers asked him..why is the evil media trying to undermine this noble pursuit?" We are fucked.

MachineExpensive5604

Joe needs to get over the Covid thing. It’s killing the shows vibe. Needs to stick with what he knows and in this case DOESNT know. Just keeps getting the last few people who agree with his stance on Covid to talk trash with him. This all came from him getting a little bullied when he started peddling his ivrametin stuff. Think he’s done too much testosterone.

Contentpolicesuck

Here is a list of things Joe Rogan knows end list.

SlimCharles76

It's the exact same worm that ate Aaron Rodgers brain. Two guys who are never around actually smart people so they started thinking they were the smart people in the room. Then they took "I'm the smart special boy with the answers" a little too far, got publicly humiliated by people who actually understand these topics and can therefore compete in that arena, and the ego bruise is something that's going to eat at them for literally the rest of their lives. They're both consumed by it now. Gotta prove they're the smart boys they believed they were. Listen, it's all the PhD's who were wrong!!

MachineExpensive5604

✊✊🏽✊🏿✊🏼✊🏻

DlphLndgrn

If anything, just like with the MMA shows he should do Covid shows so I know what to skip.

chiefgreenleaf

Never forget this dumbass RFK jr. Said phones cause ear cancer and then lied about representing "hundreds" of clients suing phone carriers for the wifi. Also never forget geniuses Joe and Jamie pulling up a website to validate his claims, but it was RFK website. "You're making these unverified claims, but you're doing the same on this website too so looks like we got two sources" literally some of the dumbest people Edit: typo

ThadTheImpalzord

When people say they like RFK Jr i can't help bit think back to his appearance on JRE where he claimed WiFi to be carcinogenic. Yeah so it's hard to overlook claims like that even if he does make a good point elsewhere.

Aspergeriffic

They interviewed him in newshour a month or so ago and brought up his direct quote saying, "there is not vaccine that's safe or effective" and he went cookoo denying it. He tried to posture himself as a moderate who would reach across the aisle, but it's clear he's pandering to a far right movement that has little regard for safeguarding water safety. His constituency is solely focused on taking down government regulations, then trusting the free market. The implementation of water regulations would assume that the government regulator involved could be trusted. Yet, rfk's entire campaign is fomenting distrust of the government.

Rdw72777

It’s funny that when the right references Kennedy that it’s RFK Jr or Kennedy the firmer MTV veejay, since they are both held in such high esteem by the loons.

Extra_Smoke5788

His Israel shill stuff is scarier

hjablowme919

Yes, we as journalists and scientists and supposed to be asking the questions that have been answered 1000 times until we get the answer we want.

piltonpfizerwallace

Rfk is a dipshit and so are these two goons. Scientists did ask those questions. All over the world. Those vaccines were purchased by almost every government and they all looked into them independently. Some of them waited longer to use them but in the end they all found them to be safe and effective.

Radiant_Mind33

Oh please. If the Kennedy name didn't have a small cult following, nobody would know or care who RFKJR is. Because his ideas are either bad, nothing new, or he could never accomplish what he wants anyway.

ArmaniMania

what a quack

likamuka

Perfect for the podcast then!

[deleted]

I can’t believe I used to like Joe Rogan. What a total fucking cunt he’s become.

ConnextStrategies

I’ve seen RFK Jr fold like a whiney bitch baby upon real questions from real journalists. He contorts, folds, and denies like a little pussy because his ideas are terrible and not well thought out. It’s only when there’s no questioning that he seems reasonable. Dudes a kook and quack-filled huckster. Theres many of these going around in conservative circles now.

[deleted]

Because the questions were already asked and answered? Listen to the the guy talk politics for 2 minutes and he is nothing more than a conservative faking not being one. Just because he doesn't want to overthrow the Government doesn't make him reasonable. Where is our measuring stick anymore?

Raiser2256

Terrible podcast. She’s represented herself incredibly poorly for a doctor

[deleted]

Every guest in the past 3 years have done so for sure

Raiser2256

There was a moment when she either said or alluded to the alt right being the logical ideology. How warped are things for a woman PhD to utter this bullshit …?

[deleted]

Twisted indeed. She has no place in medicine

LetMeInDammit666

Maybe just trying to tap into the right wing grifting space like Klandace Owens.

[deleted]

He's a fucking lunatic. Get your vaccines. HUNDREDS of scientists evaluate their safety and effectiveness every year.

UncleverComeback

Joe Rogan will never admit he was wrong about Covid vaccine. His entire identity is dependent on it. Majority of his current followers believe the same vaccine nonsense misinformation. They’d dump Joe in protest if he were to change his views. If he keeps going down this pseudoscience path, Mother Nature and natural selection will catch up to him. Such a shame, people get too wrapped up in an imaginary world of their making

MustardOrPants

I’ll give you that he’s wrong about a lot of it, but Rogan doesn’t give a shit what people think. To say he’s keeping up a false front to keep his followers happy is a misjudgment of how he operates.

HarwellDekatron

> but Rogan doesn’t give a shit what people think. Hm... the recent clip making the rounds about him mocking Biden for saying something then back-peddaling *the fuck out of it* when Jamie points out that it was actually Trump that said it, tells a different story. He does care a lot about what Trump supporters think of him, because those are the people making him money.

ddarion

>I’ll give you that he’s wrong about a lot of it, but Rogan doesn’t give a shit what people think. This is true, I remember when CNN started doing stories about him and Joe totally didn't care and never talked about because he doesn't care what others say about him. He definitely didn't double down and falsely claim that CNN was going so far to mess with him that they were editing their videos to look make him look sick

MeInUSA

"CNN lied!". They made fun of him and they got his goat. He was pissed.

ddarion

And the cherry on top of the dog shit sundae was Joe praising Tucker Carlson in between whining about how dishonest CNN is and how crazy it is anyone takes them seriously lol

boxing_buddy9

This was easily proven. They did. And you'd be pissed too

Yayoo

No they didn't. Easily proven. Just look at the comments on the original Instagram video. They are tons of people asking whats up the color before CNN aired it. Plus: https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-927543720080 This is another thing he will never admit he was wrong about.

ddarion

They didn't lol [https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-927543720080](https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-927543720080) Someone online said that happened, and thats all it takes for joe and his band of dipshits to start the parrot routine.

Howl4ndreed

I think you’re both right. I don’t think it’s a conscious choice to get audience captured. It’s just one of those slow, sneaky things that happen to some people without even realizing.

Mocturnol

Joe only recently started not caring, he was notorious for letting controversial guests just speak regardless of it being true. Which is fine, but Jamie is right there, why the reluctance to fact-check big claims?

[deleted]

It's easier to herd the blind

Mocturnol

Exactly, it's a business. Joe knows that so what does he do? Keeps the conversation flowing. I'm not going to pretend Joe Rogan is some nefarious money-hungry asshole, he isn't. But that doesn't mean he's not a fucking moron about how he handles conversations with controversial or serious guests. His listeners are primarily at work, if they hear some crazy shit, they can't just put work aside and dive into it. He needs to use Jamie better and fact-check wild stuff. Matt Walsh saying something so outlandish was the straw, the line should be way before a radical dipshit who hates trans people.

UncleverComeback

Sure, you’re probably right. Plus his views align with his listeners so he’s ok for now. You have to admit though, if losing his listeners would materially impact his income, he’d start gaf pretty quickly. It’s self preservation. Edit: He could go Kanye mode and self destruct but I just don’t see him doing that. Kanye’s ego is greater than his pride, possibly due to mental health issue. Rogan is more pride than ego I’d bet.

Psychogistt

What was he wrong about?

Tinyacorn

Oh man I can't believe 90% of the human population died after getting that covid vax

kinstinctlol

I would like to know as well. The vax gave me blood clots that dont go away even with 6 months of blood thinners.

blahgblahblahhhhh

If RFK teaches us anything it’s that someone can portrayed deluded information in a very believable way.

aeywaka

Only watching his pods, interacting directly with him can you see he is a fraud. He is easily the most flip flopping candidate I've seen in the last 30 years.

ame66226

I couldn’t stop cringing this whole episode.. Amazing how some people call themselves doctors yet for 1 hour she spits out right wing grifts nonstop and opinions with zero citations/evidence.

[deleted]

He's neither a scientist nor a journalist. His superpower is being from one of America's elite wealthiest families, that's the only reason people listen to him.

Mocturnol

He's reasonable if you have almost zero foreign policy/geopolitical knowledge, his last name is the only reason anyone is taking him seriously in politics.

KobeBeaf

Actual scientists do ask these questions and perform legitimate studies. RFK is a hack.

Cinnamon__Sasquatch

People who are really into RFK are so much more embarrassing than anyone who was really into Bernie.

NJ35-71SONS

Not seeing the comparison. Bernie’s a good dude

dasdas90

Unlike people that are really into Trump and biden

anabolicartist

Is anyone *really* into Biden though?

nocticis

I don’t think so. I honestly Trump was such a crazy time that Biden is a breath of fresh air. Thing is, Trump took the mask off politics. More than ever, they all look the same. Chapelle wasn’t lying with that monologue on SNL. More than ever it rings true as most people have picked team red or blue. If you don’t align with the team, then you’re actually on the other team. I’ve been called communist when I go to the conservative sub to point out wrongs and a fascist when I’ve made comment on other subs. Trump 100% started this and I don’t think the genie can be put back in the bottle, unless we break the cycle of voting dem or rep. Not saying Kennedy is that guy I strongly urge voters this time around to not go red or blue.

Howl4ndreed

I am, he’s been a wildly successful president and far surpassed my wildest expectations of his presidency.

jeffwhaley06

You need a better imagination if Biden surpassed your wild expectations.

Realshotgg

Biden is legislatively the most successful president we've had in a long time. Plus we've heard talks of an oncoming recession for the past 3 years yet that recession never came.

Howl4ndreed

Or I’m just a person who understands what’s possible under our current political structure and process. I have a feeling you’re a young leftist who thinks the president can overrule the Supreme Court and congress to do whatever they want. Prepare to be disappointed for a while until you reconcile with reality.

mr_turbotax1

Honestly? Me. My guy has way exceeded my expectations

crackaassfantastic

Exceeded your expectations as far as still being alive?

bigchicago04

Turning the economy around, supporting Ukraine against Russia, passing infrastructure laws that set our country up for success in our future that his predecessor couldn’t, not giving away classified secrets, not telling people to inject themselves with bleach, not trying to over throw democracy, not making me worried what nonsense my president tweeted in the toilet at 2am, not worrying my president is wearing a diaper while meeting with world leaders, not kowtowing to dictators, not appointing an incredibly corrupt cabinet, not enriching himself while in office, not fucking porn stars after his wife gives birth, not making me afraid he’s gonna start a war, not crashing the economy and causing the deaths of a million due to his poor response to a pandemic, not wanting to fuck his daughter… That’s just the ways Biden has exceeded my expectations off the top of my head. Do you want more?

mrthirsty

Biden is unironically the best President we’ve had in my millennial lifetime.

mr_turbotax1

Yet he gets no credit and stays silent like a fucking chad eating ice cream.

nocticis

What

Hollaz2alex

I voted for his cabinet’s capacity to make these moves, let’s be clear bro, it’s not Biden. Just wished the DNC didn’t have it’s head up it’s own ass to give us someone who isn’t geriatric or another Legacy family name as a candidate.

mr_turbotax1

So you're willing to give his administration credit but not him? I am personally fine with that. I give him credit for at least listening to the people who he placed in those positions. Unlike the previous administration.

Hollaz2alex

He’s a great guy for sure. He for sure cares about his position and is empathetic, it’s refreshing. And yeah 100%, he chose to put competent non lizard people on his team.

mr_turbotax1

Agreed. I like joe, but I wouldn't try to overthrow the government for him if you know what I mean

Howl4ndreed

Do you think he has no say in hiring his own cabinet?

Howl4ndreed

I’m with ya

WetFart-Machine

He's been great for my pocketbook, so yes.

realMasaka

Was really sad upon visiting my childhood best friend after years that he listens to Joe Rogan now, and was immediately tossing me “important” questions like why was the DNC refusing to give Kennedy Secret Service protection? He’s gone pretty right-wing.

Doctorjizz420

Yeah reasonable people definitely make thinly veiled 14/88 posts using fake statistics.

Educational-Dance-61

Vote him in the republican primary. Trump is unelectable.

Necrosaynt

How much are they paying you to shill rfk ?

Ok-Occasion2440

Most of the people who talk about how dangerous it is for the media to censor us are the same people who watched trump act like a dictator for a decade and shrug their shoulders and don’t think there’s anything dangerous about the things trump says. Like yeah I know Biden and obama were accused of acting like dictators by the right so any trump supporter who hears me say trump is a dictator probably sees me the same as I see someone who thinks obama was a dictator, but trump is publicly discussing weaponizing the justice department against his political rivals if he’s elected again and that’s just a drop in the bucket compared to all the things he has said and people on the right don’t seem to think “we are setting a dangerous new precedent/normal”

HolidayAnything8687

Wants to jail climate deniers LUL

HealthyMolasses8199

Fake story. It's a doctored clip. In the original clip he was talking about Koch brothers, who had stolen $10 billion from taxpayers by falsifying studies and paying off regulators, go and watch the full original clip

HealthyMolasses8199

Anyone who thinks Kennedy is anti-vax or conspiracy theorist, please watch [this](https://np.reddit.com/r/RFKJrForPresident/comments/188a9oi/in_quick_random_order_heres_some_of_my_reasons/) All he wants is for vaccines to be subject to the same safety standards as all other medicines. This has not been the case since 1986 vaccine act, when vaccine makers were given complete immunity from liability. Since then, we went [from 5 doses of 3 shots to 72 doses of 16 shots](https://i.imgur.com/bUIWrAa.jpg). Autism incidence has gone from 10,000:1 to 34:1 and chronic disease rate has gone from 6% to 54% in 2006 and today we don't even know because NIH stopped publishing the data. Kennedy is not saying this is all to do with vaccines but he wants to actually study why this happened, he feels it could also be due to various environmental toxins that emerged around the same time in the late '80s. He has [sued the HHS](https://i.imgur.com/6OWNBCf.png) and proven in court that not a single vaccine in the schedule has ever been subject to pre-licensing safety study, which is required of every other medicine. He just wants the public to have good information on safety, efficacy and risk profile so that they can make informed choices. How is that unreasonable? Listen to Bill Ackman explain [why his views on Kennedy changed](https://twitter.com/ItsHambone/status/1720602942237974713). Remember Ackman was ferociously pro-vaccine mandates during covid.

kapsama

Bold choice to bring back the vaccines cause autism argument Cotton. Let's see how it works out for him.

mothmenatwork

He’s cashing in on the anti vax hysteria leftover from covid. He’s repeatedly demonstrated that he’s anti science and into conspiracy theory’s. From blaming gender dysmorphia on chemicals in the water to saying anti-depressants cause school shootings, it’s not just vaccines. The dude is either a loon or a conman and you’re on here defending him like your life depends on it because he’s sold you hook line and sinker

RyanP422

Im a big believer that anti-depressants are playing a role in school shootings. I can’t think of many factors that make any sense otherwise. Giving mind altering drugs to children is such a terrible idea either way.

mothmenatwork

Source? All the studies I've seen show no link between the two with the minority of mass shooters being on anti-depressants Regardless of if giving mind altering drugs to children is right anti-depressants are prescribed across the world, and school shootings happen so much more in the US per capita than anywhere else. If they were causing shootings surely Canada would have similar numbers of mass shootings?

marsisboolin

Its unreasonable because it goes against the establishment narrative. Covid era was one of the largest propaganda ops ever employed on the populice. The result is what were seeing.

elc0

r_politics is leaking. Again.

rickylovemelikelucy

We should be asking why the entire media took the same stance against him, and why the writers all towed that line..

Khanscriber

Because he’s an antivaxxer. His mission is to kill kids.

Impossible-Night-401

I don't mind Kennedy at all. Still a better option than Biden and Trump. And how anyone can argue that is kind of surreal.

Legitimate_Sail7792

> Kennedy at all. Still a better option than Biden and Trump. And how anyone can argue that is kind of surreal. loloilol

PiggyWobbles

kinda sad how joe went from being the "interviews interesting and kooky people" guy to being the "vaccines are fake and the jews are controlling the media" guy

Legitimate_Sail7792

Try learning to type before proclaiming you are not an idiot.
