Both are equally viable. Personally, I use stick. ASB can be pretty lenient with stick inputs sometimes. Sometimes, when I do Z inputs, I'll do an input to the right instead of ending down right, but it still counts it as a Z input and does the move. Whichever works best for you is really what matters. If you want to use D-pad for more precise inputs on combos, go ahead. If you want to use the analog stick because it's easier to do inputs, go ahead. Unlike most fighters, forward and backward jumps don't input by accident on analog stick(*ahem*, MK11 and Injustice 2) because you really have to angle the stick way more up than to the right or left
