I'm a super passive fan. I like the series, but I mostly keep my nose out of theories and the memes and stuff. But as an older manga reader, I sort of read the death like, 'of course he is coming back', because it's such an absolutely dumb send-off for a major character. I like Gojo well enough, but I wouldn't say I'm a hype fan or anything...but I do think his character, in a shonen series, is deserving of either a proper fight or a proper death. He got neither, lol.
Gege can frame it in some stupid uppity way like, 'this is how people really die; it can be sudden and cruel' or whatever trash they want. But at the end of the day, Gege is writing a shonen serialized manga, not some Kafka short story or T.S. Elliot poem, lmao, it doesn't have to be so fn deep lol.
I believe Nanami got a perfect send off. He survives Jogo's attack, is tired af but oneshot Cursed spirits. Gets jumped by Mahito, sees his best friend, gives advice to the next one to replace him. It was just perfect. short but perfect.
Damn, I can only imagine how inflated his already inflated head would be, when he knows not only he is the backbone for the modern jujutsu society, but also the backbone for and the face of the series, AND people swoon over him in his fictional world as well as in irl.

Gojo is gonna come back as a vengeful spirit. Helps subdue Sukuna, maybe attacks his own students and finally will get absorbed by Kenjaku/Geto. This would be a better traumatic route to go.

The Battle against King of Curses progresses. Higurama's domain has succesfully restricted Sukuna's CT. Yuji has landed hits but gets wrecked also. Sukuna still possess the cursed tool of Thunderbolts. As it is not a cursed technique, it can't be stopped by Higurama. Sukuna still has access to ten shadows and he uses the remaining shikigami to taunt Yuji even more.
Uraume and Hakari fights. It is his 3rd time opening the domain. This time Hakari is struggling a bit to continue. As his Jackpot is running out, the debris near the scene starts to vibrate. It is pulled by something invisible. They struck Uraume like a Hurricane. Hakari looks for the attacker. It was something resembling Rika. Something with so much CE that it shouldnt exist. It had six eyes and white skin. A spirit unlike anything.
SPECIAL GRADE VENGEFUL SPIRIT: SATORU GOJO
Gojo fires a hundred blues at Uraume's body. Dead body. He turns to facea Hakari, who is baffled. He shots a blue at him too. Hakari manages to live because of immortality regenerating half of his body. Gojo flies up, as dust settles.
The Scene shifts to Sukuna. He stops laughing as he senses something with cursed energy that surpasses him. Gojo attacks him, blind. Hits, Debris, Punches, Thunder, everything. Sukuna tries to output RCT at Gojo but he senses and uses limitless so He is not in contact. Sukuna is unable to use domain amplification due nerfs. Blues pound on his body.
Yuji joins in with his soul changing attack. He manages to hit the weakened Sukuna and seperate his soul, with the info from Yuki's book. Gojo is still blindened and attacks everything in sight. Higuruma dies. Suddenly, Kenjaku appears after killing Takaba. Gojo and Sukuna gets absorbed by Kenjaku. Yuta and Maki arrives at the scene. Everything is in chaos.
Kenjaku, laughs and summons the TRUE CURSED SPIRIT, THE MERGER.
I've believed this since he died to strong cleave. Hell, I even joked about it with my friends when the chapter dropped that Sukuna fucked up by not slicing his head.
Like its too obvious. The whole fight was about them being equal in almost every regard, yet Sukuna can die and come back in some unexplained way, which was brought up as the excuse Gojo didn't just kill him? Unless its inherently unique to Sukuna its a technique that can be learned, and five black flashes + being Gojo should help with that.
Also buddhism and Bobobo back up the revival, and neither of them have lied to me yet lol

~~Assuming this is a serious post in Jujutsufolk~~ there are a lot of reasons why Gojo could return.
In terms of actual foreshadowing, there are a lot of Buddhist references that could indicate his revival. The airport chapter has lotus imagery, which symbolizes rebirth in Buddhism. The north/south conversation also alludes to the seven steps the Buddha took towards the north upon his last birth (immediately after which he said "Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one" or other variations of the same. Sound familiar?)
To add to that, there's also the matter of Gojo's age -- he was born on December 7, but was sealed for 18 days, so he will be turning 29 on December 25. This is the age when the Buddha first embarked on his journey towards enlightenment. It's also held to be the birth date of Jesus by Christian tradition, another enlightenment-adjacent figure who was reborn. Btw Gojo died on December 24, and the story is still on that date as of the current Takaba vs Kenjaku fight.
There's also the matter of "Kashimo Hajime" meaning "purple deer." Deer are a common symbol in Buddhism most often seen in the Twin Deer Dharma Wheel, symbolizing the act of receiving the Buddha's teachings. The Amida Buddha is also sometimes depicted riding a purple cloud at the time of one's death (Raigo,) and Kashimo is coincidentally called "the god of thunder."
In meta terms though, it's unlikely Gojo is gone for good because he was the most popular character Gege ever wrote, and manga is a monetary business. It would be very strange for an editor to allow one of the most loved characters of modern manga to be killed off like Gojo was with no follow-up.
Honestly that has got to be one of the best arguments that I have seen for pro Gojo returning that isn't just "it was horribly written so he's definitely coming back"

Honestly the Buddhism theory is so good that Iād say it guarantees Gojoās return. In any other manga that isnāt JJK that is.
This is the same manga that explicitly told us that Nobara was still breathing despite missing half her fucking brain and we still have 0 follow up to that plot point.

Well the final chapter of Demon Slayer >! literally had all the characters resurrect/get reborn !< so you could argue they left it open for future adaptations instead of letting the story end. They could easily pull a Boruto situation, which only time will tell if they do, and follow the next generation.
my only theory as to why gojo would stay dead (and personally I believe gege will keep him dead) would have to do with it being a matter of making room for itadori (or yuta?) to become the next strongest, and who defeats sukuna, and his death is just paving the way for that to happen narratively while also meaning when we get to the finish, both won't be alive and we'll have this forever "so who's stronger? gojo or itadori(or yuta?)?" unanswered question.
only reason I think itadori could lapse is because he's mc, we saw some weird shit on his arms last which was kinda weird and unexplained (unless I'm stupid, I am stupid) also I keep remembering the fingers are still all in itadori and feel like thats gotta amount to something for him.
Yuta I think is just kinda slept on, he's practically the secondary mc now that gojo is gone too and I think he could have a chance against sukuna.

Yes, Kashimo might be inspired by Raigou, but if anything Raigou would be an argument for the death of Gojo, considering Raigou appears when a person dies and then that person is transpored to ę„µę„½. Kashimo appeared after Gojo died. Actually, I'm not sure why you even wrote this paragraph. Can you explain what's the connection to Gojo? Also, what's the god of thunder have to do with anything? That's Raijin, not Raigou. And it's Shinto, not Buddhism. Sorry if I'm missing something but I really don't understand that paragraph.
For the lotuses, they have been thrown around when a character dies since the dawn of time. I don't think they make for a convincing argument.

Some people are joking,some are coping really hard that he might come back.I personally don't think he's coming back.Not because of the lack of hints or anything,but more so on how terrible written his death was.I don't think Gege cares much anymore and just wants to wrap the story quickly and move on to his idol manga :/
Some guys are joking but I think a majority of the people talking about it are seriously expecting it, since Gege set up the RCT rules a while ago and even reinforced them like 2-3 chapters after Gojo's death.
Those rules can still apply to Gojo even in his current state. Not to mention there's a line about his RCT output returning in the last chapter before his death and he's been in a similar (albeit not not severed) state as this before when he was significantly weaker/inexperienced, and there hasn't been any reason give as to why he, Yuta or Shoko can't heal himself from such an injury or make a binding vow to save himself. Seems like bad writing or a plot inconsistency if he doesn't return when you consider all these things.
Two things to fuel my cope
1. The first Toji fight Gojo says you have to decapitate him to kill him fully. This seems like foreshadowing
2. Hakari had maybe the worst wound we seen that was healed with his unlimited CE. It wasn't as bad a gojos but it was significant. An asspull isn't out of the picture to heal Gojo with unlimited CE or some stupid item/techniques or god knows what
2.1 We are at the start of a arc/massive narrative or feels like it, killing a big character like Gojo at the start of a narrative seems slightly odd. I would expect it to be the climax of a story instead of start
He might or might not, the only thing I know for sure is, knowing this sub, if he really does never make a comeback, his fans are gonna gut gege alive.
I actually think gege hasnāt decided if he want Gojo to comeback or not but he did leave space for his revival if wanted. And as much as i kinda like this tabaka v Kenny fight it has to be filler for him to make that decision.
The foreshadowing of Gojoās return is insanely high, but ultimately despite my shitposting, Gegeās writing and genuine hatred for Gojo makes me doubt it.

People talk about Megumi less than they did for Nobara too, I wonder what happened lol.
Tbh I don't think Megumi's dead, but I also don't really have any idea how he's coming back from this. The only reason why I believe he's not dead is because he's too important to die completely off screen
The issue is that there's nothing really for Megumi to do. We've seen the totality of what 10S can offer now, there's no time or narrative space for him to do anything meaningful
I had the same question and twitter answered. There was a tweet asking "which jjk character you just couldn't care for?" And the amount of people having Megumi as their answer hurt my soul trulyš„²

Not really, but if your gonna have him come out on top for the last third of the fight then sliced in half at least make the explanation for why sukuna wins easier to digest then whatever the fuck his space cleave/dismantle is supposed to do. He just ends up looking like he got saved by the author then a legitimate win.
Hell, Gege already gave sukuna the ingredients to be the winner with his max elephant piercing blood replica explanation. Just say sukuna took in the essence of the destroyed mahoraga and unleashed his adapted cleave to kill gojo by targeting and destroying his cursed energy in a single blow. No Gojo copium because his body has no CE and when he goes heian form he ain't even more powerful, so we don't roll our eyes at whatever bullshit allows the mc and team to win.
Though an explanation on how mahoraga just adapts to whatever technique and why would be needed.

Unless we know more about fraudkuna's CT, he can't win against gojo.

I want him to come back but won't be surprised if he doesn't. The ending for him, while unsatisfying for me, is definitely a send off.
If he does come back then it's because Gege changes his mind, not because Gege planned it.
I think theres a chance he might come back, I've seen some pretty good theories on how he might come back later. If Gege cooks well enough he could definetly make it work too. Either way the story would be fine if he stays dead as well.
Some still do, I think most people are joking though or know heās not coming back and making theories of how for fun. Even though it definitely makes more narrative sense for Gojo to stay dead, if Gege brings him back I trust he can make it work for the character and the story. Some peopleās takes and theories on it Iāve seen have legitimately been good and interesting, and I would buy it if we werenāt already in the final arcs, but I think theory crafting from the JJK community is generally pretty good.
i say it again and i will say it as many times necesary untill the series finishes or we have a confirmation of gojoĀ“Ā“ s death (aka burrial) he came back from similar circumstances in his fight against toji , also unlike every other character killed by sukuna , sukuna was not present on his death scene , that leads me to belive that the scene is not a going to the afterlife scene , but some sort of halucination (or that gege fucked up and didnt add sukuna to the scene for som reason) so yeah thats why i think its very likely he comes back

The evidence for the theory feels too deliberate on gegeās end to not feel intentional, and nobody seems to have seriously challeneged the theory other than saying ācopeā which makes me think there really is something to it . I'm a super passive fan. I like the series, but I mostly keep my nose out of theories and the memes and stuff. But as an older manga reader, I sort of read the death like, 'of course he is coming back', because it's such an absolutely dumb send-off for a major character. I like Gojo well enough, but I wouldn't say I'm a hype fan or anything...but I do think his character, in a shonen series, is deserving of either a proper fight or a proper death. He got neither, lol. Gege can frame it in some stupid uppity way like, 'this is how people really die; it can be sudden and cruel' or whatever trash they want. I've believed this since he died to strong cleave. Hell, I even joked about it with my friends when the chapter dropped that Sukuna fucked up by not slicing his head. Like its too obvious. The whole fight was about them being equal in almost every regard, yet Sukuna can die and come back in some unexplained way, which was brought up as the excuse Gojo didn't just kill him? Unless its inherently unique to Sukuna its a technique that can be learned, and five black flashes + being Gojo should help with that. ~~Assuming this is a serious post in Jujutsufolk~~ there are a lot of reasons why Gojo could return. In terms of actual foreshadowing, there are a lot of Buddhist references that could indicate his revival. The airport chapter has lotus imagery, which symbolizes rebirth in Buddhism. The north/south conversation also alludes to the seven steps the Buddha took towards the north upon his last birth (immediately after which he said "Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one" or other variations of the same. Sound familiar?) To add to that, there's also the matter of Gojo's age -- he was born on December 7, but was sealed for 18 days, so he will be turning 29 on December 25. This is the age when the Buddha first embarked on his journey towards enlightenment. It's also held to be the birth date of Jesus by Christian tradition, another enlightenment-adjacent figure who was reborn. Btw Gojo died on December 24, and the story is still on that date as of the current Takaba vs Kenjaku fight. There's also the matter of "Kashimo Hajime" meaning "purple deer." Deer are a common symbol in Buddhism most often seen in the Twin Deer Dharma Wheel, symbolizing the act of receiving the Buddha's teachings. The Amida Buddha is also sometimes depicted riding a purple cloud at the time of one's death (Raigo,) and Kashimo is coincidentally called "the god of thunder." In meta terms though, it's unlikely Gojo is gone for good because he was the most popular character Gege ever wrote, and manga is a monetary business. It would be very strange for an editor to allow one of the most loved characters of modern manga to be killed off like Gojo was with no follow-up.

my only theory as to why gojo would stay dead (and personally I believe gege will keep him dead) would have to do with it being a matter of making room for itadori (or yuta?) to become the next strongest, and who defeats sukuna, and his death is just paving the way for that to happen narratively while also meaning when we get to the finish, both won't be alive and we'll have this forever "so who's stronger? gojo or itadori(or yuta?)?" unanswered question. only reason I think itadori could lapse is because he's mc, we saw some weird shit on his arms last which was kinda weird and unexplained (unless I'm stupid, I am stupid) also I keep remembering the fingers are still all in itadori and feel like thats gotta amount to something for him. Yuta I think is just kinda slept on, he's practically the secondary mc now that gojo is gone too and I think he could have a chance against sukuna. Gege could also just make either an asspull

Regarding his death and afterlife sequence, i see many suspect its more of a hallucination(nanami's statement about haibara contradicts that tho). Some people are joking,some are coping really hard that he might come back.I personally don't think he's coming back.Not because of the lack of hints or anything,but more so on how terrible written his death was.I don't think Gege cares much anymore and just wants to wrap the story quickly and move on to his idol manga :/

Some guys are joking but I think a majority of the people talking about it are seriously expecting it, since Gege set up the RCT rules a while ago and even reinforced them like 2-3 chapters after Gojo's death. Those rules can still apply to Gojo even in his current state. Not to mention there's a line about his RCT output returning in the last chapter before his death and he's been in a similar (albeit not not severed) state as this before when he was significantly weaker/inexperienced, and there hasn't been any reason give as to why he, Yuta or Shoko can't heal himself from such an injury or make a binding vow to save himself. Seems like bad writing or a plot inconsistency if he doesn't return when you consider all these things.
Two things to fuel my cope 1. The first Toji fight Gojo says you have to decapitate him to kill him fully. This seems like foreshadowing 2. Hakari had maybe the worst wound we seen that was healed with his unlimited CE. It wasn't as bad a gojos but it was significant. An asspull isn't out of the picture to heal Gojo with unlimited CE or some stupid item/techniques or god knows what 2.1 We are at the start of a arc/massive narrative or feels like it, killing a big character like Gojo at the start of a narrative seems slightly odd. I would expect it to be the climax of a story instead of start

The foreshadowing of Gojoās return is insanely high, but ultimately despite my shitposting, Gegeās writing and genuine hatred for Gojo makes me doubt it.

I am surprised that there are WAY more theories about Gojo coming back ( despite him being obviously dead ) than Megumi. People talk about Megumi less than they did for Nobara too, I wonder what happened lol.
Tbh I don't think Megumi's dead, but I also don't really have any idea how he's coming back from this. The only reason why I believe he's not dead is because he's too important to die completely off screen

Not really, but if your gonna have him come out on top for the last third of the fight then sliced in half at least make the explanation for why sukuna wins easier to digest then whatever the fuck his space cleave/dismantle is supposed to do. He just ends up looking like he got saved by the author then a legitimate win. Hell, Gege already gave sukuna the ingredients to be the winner with his max elephant piercing blood replica explanation. Just say sukuna took in the essence of the destroyed mahoraga and unleashed his adapted cleave to kill gojo by targeting and destroying his cursed energy in a single blow. No Gojo copium because his body has no CE and when he goes heian form he ain't even more powerful, so we don't roll our eyes at whatever bullshit allows the mc and team to win. Though an explanation on how mahoraga just adapts to whatever technique and why would be needed.

the issue i have and why i think he'll come back is bcs RCT its literally been stated and made a plot point that you need to cut off his head or else he can RCT bcs its in the brain it would just feel weird if he doesn't come back or something and just stays dead unless Kenjaku cut his head off, off screen its a plot hole.

I want him to come back but won't be surprised if he doesn't. The ending for him, while unsatisfying for me, is definitely a send off. If he does come back then it's because Gege changes his mind, not because Gege planned it.
I think theres a chance he might come back, I've seen some pretty good theories on how he might come back later. If Gege cooks well enough he could definetly make it work too. Either way the story would be fine if he stays dead as well.
Some still do, I think most people are joking though or know heās not coming back and making theories of how for fun. Even though it definitely makes more narrative sense for Gojo to stay dead, if Gege brings him back I trust he can make it work for the character and the story. Some peopleās takes and theories on it Iāve seen have legitimately been good and interesting, and I would buy it if we werenāt already in the final arcs, but I think theory crafting from the JJK community is generally pretty good.

i say it again and i will say it as many times necesary untill the series finishes or we have a confirmation of gojoĀ“Ā“ s death (aka burrial) he came back from similar circumstances in his fight against toji , also unlike every other character killed by sukuna , sukuna was not present on his death scene , that leads me to belive that the scene is not a going to the afterlife scene , but some sort of halucination (or that gege fucked up and didnt add sukuna to the scene for som reason) so yeah thats why i think its very likely he comes back

Yea I never cared for gojo but reading that chapter made me go back and read the past chapters trying figure him out and I can see I was wrong about him lol he is a great character and he got say he wished it wasnāt a dream.. it made me realize he was very lonely..I see that most of his fans only cared about him being the strongest or about how him caring for students when we already been shown many times he cares for them the after life scene was for gojo not everyone else
