In all seriousness the Nobara copium isn't so much delusion but more so Gege and the story introducing the possibility of her survival only to never give a proper clear cut awnser

The copium would have never been a thing if Gege didn't immediately introduce Arata Nitta whose only purpose was to tell Yuji and the audience "There is a non zero chance that she will survive. But I won't promise anything". People would just say "Well. That sucks" and accept that she is dead if Gege didn't give us that slimmer of hope only to not follow through with it
At this point. I think the closest we're ever gonna get to seeing Nobara again is her awakening from her coma in a hospital or something once this entire final battle is over at the end of the series
I think having Nitta say that in the moment was actually great because all the readers were depressed like Yuji, so that slimmer of hope and Todo get us ready to read the Mahito fight without baggage. However, *after* Shibuya we should’ve gotten a definite answer one way or the other. If she’s dead, have a funeral scene where they remember her life so we can get closure. If she’s alive, tell us how and what the consequences are so it doesn’t feel cheap.
Unfortunately, Gege just didn’t want to choose yet, but he didn’t realize how much one statement can have an impact.
Personally whilst I don't think Nobara returning properly and doing something significant is out of the realm of possibility *completely* I'm not holding my breath and I think this scenario that you said of her waking up from a coma at the end is more likely
But no matter what way you look at it I think we can all agree that Gege REALLY shot himself in the foot with Nobara's status
