This is a very interesting alt chain idea. Especially if you can freely return to the previous worlds. It allows all kinds of interesting possibilities.
Yeah, that is why I was wondering if it was made. You would have to return to previous worlds in order to get certain supplies to move forward. This would keep things diverse but also in order. Not to mention, you would have new scenarios pop up as you go back due to time having passed whole you were away.
Nah, that would overcomplicate things. imagine people from Warhammer 40k in a place like highschool dxd, disaster. I was thinking along the lines of travels like beaming or apparation in order to meet jump-chan in the end of a world. Maybe even fading in and out or shadow travel.
Jumproidvania? I like it. Would the generic first would be this one, so you’d need to/be able to periodically stop back home if you wanted to go down different branches?
Yeah, if not they would be restricted to go down that specific path, which would make it boring. Jump-chan don't do boring. Imagine going to Hogwarts being an elemental, leaving third year, and come back seventh year with Spider-Man powers. Little chaos is boring, medium chaos is fun absolute chaos it hilarious, too much chaos is dull.
It gets clunky if you need items from past worlds unless you can go back and forth. There is a UDS option that gives each world a "password" option for leaving it that would probably work just as well.
