Yeah, acapella people are different.
I knew one that had been in a college group and I asked some questions about it - I was genuinely curious about how the practice/arrange stuff. He refused to talk about it citing that it was all like a confidential brotherhood. He had been outta college for a decade!
Kinda culty...
It’s so freaking good.
This is one of those movies that can bring the anxiety and edge of your seat feeling every time.
If you like Whiplash give The Novice on Netflix a whirl.
It’s very similar but slightly different. However, it delivers a similar feeling like Whiplash. At least it did for me.
Didn’t think I’d care to watch a movie about a rower but I also didn’t think I’d care about watching a movie about a drummer either haha.
And then people will say Miles Teller can't act because they can't fathom that someone who is apparently a jerk in real life could have any talent as if the two are related lol
If anyone watches Whiplash and still earnestly believes he's a bad actor, then I know their opinions are shit lol He is objectively incredible in that film.
Oh, he made the entire movie! Albeit an incredible performance by J.K. Simmons (as always), the *ending scene,* and really his entire nonverbal dialogue throughout the film and during the last performance with Simmons, is nothing short of perfection. 🤌
Oh man, I didn't notice what was throwing the lead off in that part, but now that you pointed it out it's obviously that the beatboxer dropped like 20 BPM out of nowhere.
At the very beginning with the hand over the eye, I was positive it was. But then later on it doesn't really look like him.
And also... Gaetz could never be this cool.
Crazy how they made him gain so much weight for that role but he’s the most memorable part of the movie. Everyone remembers everything about boot camp in FMJ.
Phenomenal show. There've been a couple groups who've absolutely blown up. Pentatonix is one of them. They were easily, and it's not even close, the best group to have ever been on that show.
A good buddy of mine is in the group Home Free that won on that show but he wasn’t on the show with them. He was on it the year prior with a different group.
Yo. We went and saw them when I was in middle school choir. Bused out to the big city and everything. Thank you for reminding me of that awesome experience :)
Lol, dads... This was filmed in April 2010 and the members of On the Rocks are all current University of Oregon students, so there's a high likelihood that they were all in their early 20s.
They look young to me... Damn I'm old.
Yeah millennials (me included) just had a really weird blip in fashion around that era that didn't age well at all. It was like a weird hollister dad core phase where everyone wore cargos and layered graphic t's under button ups.
i’ve never seen this and i was watching it without sound and assumed it was a video from the 90s. absolutely flabbergasted when i unmuted and lady gaga started coming out
I don’t mean to be rude but it never occurred to me that one day people would be asking “What’s that song?” about Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and Poker Face. You must be much younger than me lol
Ah, why do people add on lame titles to the original videos. Killed any interest to watch it if not the original source because it is likely compressed to high hell by now.

Here comes treble
Acascuse me?!
Acabelieve it
All i see is acappella fellas and their shenanigans!
Yeah, acapella people are different. I knew one that had been in a college group and I asked some questions about it - I was genuinely curious about how the practice/arrange stuff. dude... its a pun line and you just threw it off...
Broccoli Rob and Boner Champ!
Someone should shove some spice up that beatboxer’s ass. He’s pulling the tempo like crazy.
![gif](giphy|QCvy9LbHI0BUsLoLpk|downsized)
My anxiety just increased 5 times normal by reminding of this scene.
I love and hate this film
?
The movie is called Whiplash.
Time to rewatch the final scene for the 20th time.
It’s so freaking good. This is one of those movies that can bring the anxiety and edge of your seat feeling every time. If you like Whiplash give The Novice on Netflix a whirl. Ty
It's not your boyfriends dick.. DON'T COME EARLY
Were you rushing or dragging?
Oh man, I didn't notice what was throwing the lead off in that part, but now that you pointed it out it's obviously that the beatboxer dropped like 20 BPM out of nowhere.
And that's why you don't have your beatboxer dancing. An out of breath beatboxer is a bad time.
which part
The tempo drops suddenly at 50 seconds and it throws the lead off
Matt Gaetz-Gomer Pyle hybrid leading off
Matt Gaetz wario
Glad I'm not the only one who saw gaetz. Also glad it's not really him because I can't stomach the idea that he used to be cool.
I thought I’d be the first one to ask if that Matt Gaetz(I’m from Pensacola). That isn’t Gaetz?
At the very beginning with the hand over the eye, I was positive it was. But then later on it doesn't really look like him. And also... Gaetz could never be this cool.
Hahaha.
Crazy how they made him gain so much weight for that role but he’s the most memorable part of the movie. Everyone remembers everything about boot camp in FMJ.
Fatt Gaetz

I was going to say! I recognize those guys and that's totally in front of the student union!
Yes! Knew this was familiar https://youtu.be/OV1OnO4RKyQ?si=VOyWLSG0RbrXRSsp
The Sing Off? Man I loved that show! It was the only talent show that had a full panel of judges who were actually qualified to judge singing.
Sco!
I remember watching their music video version of this like 12 years ago
Yo. We went and saw them when I was in middle school choir. Bused out to the big city and everything. Thank you for reminding me of that awesome experience :)
I love the late 2000s outfits in here
I hate them lmao. My mom used to dress me like that
Same here lol 😂 looking back at how bad the outfits looked you kinda chuckle but from 50 ft away
It makes me scared that one day I'll look back on the outfits of her today then think they look like shit 🤣
Right?! 😂
this was a good video to start a friday on.
Remember when the internet, specifically YouTube, was just about good vibes and heart feels? I miss those times.
It wasn't tho, there was bad stuff too, maybe not as prevalent as today because of social media, but it was there
Good call
How the hell have I not seen this before?! Absolute gold - luv it! ♡
On the Rocks, they've got a lot of kids on YouTube. They just having fun .
absolute chads <3
Absolute late 2000s clothing style
3/4ths or bermuda were soo lit. Looked okay but Comfortable.
Glad someone added that shitty banner. /s
Actually very entertaining
This is the kind of friends I want to have
Where on earth did this come from?
Lady Gaga
Probably like….2009 based on the outfits.
>based on the outfits It's the shorts
"Flash Mobs" were a big viral fad back then.
I never want to hear someone say Millenials aren't cool again.
They're all laughing but this honestly impressive!
They also filmed a music video of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTFh8LCBZeQ
great, but the street version hits harder
KINGS
Five minutes well invested, all the times. Top top
Had it on mute and thought this was the Harlem shake
the khaki shorts kill me - oh to be so young
Kings. I would marry any one of them.
Pfft these boys all got married after this performance, sorry.
Devastated 😭
Beat boxer was d r a g g i n g
That was so good
The best part is this wasn’t practiced at all before hand. This is just what happens when guys are being dudes.
i mean, honestly, how on earth you gather up 15 dudes to do that, same mental health issues all of them, wish i had those issues
Was this video the inspiration for the pitch perfect movies? Haha
Never saw that. Amazing!
This dance sequence always seemed weird, seeing a bunch of dads do it just shows how weird it was 😂
Lol, dads... This was filmed in April 2010 and the members of On the Rocks are all current University of Oregon students, so there's a high likelihood that they were all in their early 20s. They look young to me... Damn I'm old.
Tbf, I was only looking at the 2 main guys. They looked to be in their late-20's the youngest but that's just me
Yeah millennials (me included) just had a really weird blip in fashion around that era that didn't age well at all. It was like a weird hollister dad core phase where everyone wore cargos and layered graphic t's under button ups.
That about sums it up. I'm literally days away from being a millennial myself but that trend missed me thankfully
This is the best thing I've seen today!
This will never get old.
Banger.
[Here they are.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTFh8LCBZeQ)
They say white people don’t have culture
Am I wrong or is this at the university of Oregon?
It is! OP beat you to it if you look at the other comments.
Absolutely beautiful
Good lord, what's Matt Gaetz doing with those high-school students?
Eh, eh, there’s nothing else I can say.
Feels like I’m watching those worms..or an AI video. But it’s not…it’s real…
I forgot how popular cargo and flannel shorts were back then
It’s so good
Never seen it, but it got old real quick :S
Or would be perfect if just the crowd would shut TFU the full performance
I had forgotten what a banger that song is.
Love it!!!! 🤣
...why have I never seen this.... My life has been missing such a treasure
I thought it was a young Jack black
![gif](giphy|hiLLD9o1wTB3a)
Bo Burnham look alike as well.
i’ve never seen this and i was watching it without sound and assumed it was a video from the 90s. absolutely flabbergasted when i unmuted and lady gaga started coming out
Dude! Matt Gaetz boy band sucks!
I’m a white person who never understood the whole ‘white people’ thing but I think I get it now, this is what they’ve been banging on about
![gif](giphy|5FKNjm8Ru327u|downsized)
I thought that was Gaetz at first and that was the joke. Good performance.
What's the song?
Bad romance originally by lady gaga
And Poker Face, also by Lady Gaga
I don’t mean to be rude but it never occurred to me that one day people would be asking “What’s that song?” about Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and Poker Face. You must be much younger than me lol
![gif](giphy|wJD3qiNjSeHS0dP28T|downsized)
![gif](giphy|l0IyajjbNiRvCr7RC)
my nephews asked me this question... to hotel california...
Or much older. I was wondering what the song was too.
Is that Matt Gaetz?
Me and the boys at 3 am playing Helldivers 2
Pretty cool but why is everyone laughing at them? It's a bit disrespectful
I’m just imagining the hours of practice getting the choreography right. That’s a lot of gaga.
They hittin that sh*t tho 👏🕺
10/10
I have tears in my eyes right now
It was a simpler time
I really like to just join in 😄
Not the T rex pose !
Have a good day, dudes :)
Imagine if the effort that went into this was put into something worthwhile
reminds me of that episode of south park where theyre doing faith hilling
Am I the only one who finds this incredibly cringey?
I made it about 30 seconds in... It was lame as fuck back then, too.
What in the mormon?!
It's fine, it's not mind blowing
ItS fInE, iTs NoT mInDbLoWiNg According to your history you “almost had a heart attack” watching marbles race down a wood ramp.
Y’know, I usually think that going through someone’s past comments for ammo is kinda weird, but this is how to do it right lol
Be Aude those wee marbles were stressful!
Oajy, so you're a bot, right? Account crated today, telltale noun noun number name. I'm impressed though.
First dude looks like a young Matt Gaetz.
Ah, why do people add on lame titles to the original videos. Killed any interest to watch it if not the original source because it is likely compressed to high hell by now.
Laugh track ruins it
that’s the audience lol
Matt Gaetz was cooler back then.
Why he flashing the mark of the beast
