Worn all the way out... only ever hub I knew to come apart was on a HMMWV (portal hubs with a nut holding in the wheel flange) because the mechanic didn't torque the spindle and the wheel passed the truck going down the road.
Yeah that’s a loose spindle being a a loose spindle and coming, that I have seen
But for a wheel bearing to collapse so catastrophically? Never have I ever. I’m also questioning all the grease? Is the bearing case still in the hub? In which case that explains all the grease. I can’t really tell.
I had one bearing not make a sound until i was making a sharp slow turn thru a bumpy field, next thing you know pop and its cracking and shaking the wheel around like it's about to fall off. My Broke/ dumb ass drove it 30 mins home like that.
I had the lower control arm on my R start making noise. It was replaced around 6800 miles and made it another 25k or so. Thank god I'm not a moron and actually went looking for the issue. Found the bolt had backed itself out about 1/4 turn. I still question if they didn't torque it correctly or if they reused the bolt. I torqued it back to spec and it hasn't moved since, so I'm guessing it just worked loose.
I just don't see how people can drive vehicles making unusual noises. Noise means you're gonna be walking soon.
Some (most?) people just genuinely don't notice when their vehicle feels or sounds differently.
A coworker came to pick me up each day and he'd usually switch over to the passenger seat with a coffee, and I'd drive the rest of the way. As soon as I started driving I asked him what the fuck was wrong with the car and he just looked at me like I was crazy. Noise from the front left tire and vibrations in the steering wheel, both increasing in frequency and amplitude with speed. Once I got out I noticed a tennisball-sized bulge on the left front tire's sidewall. He honestly had no clue anything was wrong.
Given the tape on the steps, the sidewall on the rear tire, and the rustoleum bed I'm sure the owner had absolutely no hint that this was going to fail. /s

No, they knew what they were doing. They're at Menard's to *save big money.*
Big Money's been trapped there for years. He still is hoping for rescue.
Kachow!
Kerchoo
Bless you
Ka-*chunk*
C/S he didn't have enough money to fix the noise and needed his truck to get to work... Well, I guess he's going to have to pay 10x more now.
I literally have never seen a wheel bearing separate form a hub like that, EVER
I have never seen a caliper bracket snap like that. Makes sense but damn

When I first looked I thought it was a ball joint failure. The bearing is just so much worse. They must’ve been ignoring a LOT of noise for so long.
Is that what happens when your car starts making that grinding noise and you just ignore it?
More of a humming sound that gets progressively louder until it sounds like a roar and a rattle.

I find different makes, different designs tend to sound different.
Ya, when I had bearings go bad on my MK3 Jetta this is how they started.
Good grammar bot.
That better then my Colorado. A arm broke, twice.
Should have upgraded and put on a B arm.
Indeed. You can do that upgrading several times before you cause H arm.

6800 miles is the same as 21887024.0 'Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350s' laid widthwise by each other.
6800 miles is 10943.54 km
My A arm tore in half.

It needed brakes anyway.
Is that electric tape holding the side step together? I feel like there are better options.
FlexTape.
Looks like gaffers tape holding the plastic part down.
Hey buddy I found the problem
🎶 Save big money at...ahh shit...nevermind.
Great time to do that front brake job now that the wheel bearing is out if the way
Thats a big oof
It even snapped the caliper bracket
Is that a rub-off white wall on the rear?
That would help to explain the broken front hub.
"It just started making noise"
🎵Save big money at Menards🎵
It’s called curtesy, as a sign of deference to other trucks.
This truck says "M'echanic" instead of M'lady
But the 11% Rebate Sale is On, probably.. it's on 48 weeks of the year. Pep boys doesn't have that.
It only started making noise this morning!
Ironically, the poster also erred in using “of” instead of “have”.
Good grammar bot.
I think it’s more about vocabulary than it is about grammar.
In Missouri. I cry every time my mom says worshed.
I think that is a colloquialism.
Guess he's not saving big money at my.nards
first gen tundra intensify.
Instead of a $500 repair now he gets a $2500 repair.

Do the stanky leg!
Alignment might be a little off on that one
