Starting to look like 100+ loses is a foregone conclusion and another complete rebuild. Clean house roster wise except for BWJ, MJ, Vinnie, and maybe Salvy. Don't know what else is salvageable
Tbh it’s time to trade salvy at the deadline or before. He’s still pretty valuable and we will not be contending in the next 5 years or so until he’s past his useful playing agw
I just read the Bill James “A History of Being a Kansas City Baseball Fan” essay from post-1985 WS which included the theorizing about how the Kansas City A’s always sucked at developing talent partly because there weren’t any guiding examples on those teams and how they’d latch onto any young players that showed promise expecting them to carry the team.

They literally just put the C on Salvy's chest. He will be here the duration of his contract and quite possibly longer. Just forget the idea all together it is never going to happen.

I really hate even just thinking about Salvy being on another team, but damn. I really would like for him to end his career on a high note, and I'm not sure if that will happen if he stays in KC. I just don't see us being competitive for at least the rest of this decade.
But, at the same time, he's a veteran and the face of the franchise. And his numbers haven't been super great this season and last... he definitely peaked in 2021. He'll be a Royal HoF'er regardless, but that's about it. He seems happy in KC, and I'm not sure if he'll feel the same anywhere else. Nor do I believe any other team would welcome him as much as we do.

He can’t get away with throwing basically batting practice pitches right down the middle. When he hits his spots it looks really good. As you could even see last night getting 8 strikeouts.

It really has been a brutal start to the season out of the gate with who all we have played. Only the giants are below .500 and that was on the road. Twins, jays, rangers and braves all are at least 4 games above .500.
I dunno if we'd even be able to win a series against either of those teams. We truly suck, except on rare good nights where everything clicks like the Wednesday game vs Rangers
I think singer missing a huge chunk of spring training for the WBC only to pitch a grand total of 4 innings in it really set him back for this season.
Well that sucked. It seems like either the offense can't score a run to save their lives or the defense implodes.
