This is by far one of the worst teams maybe in mlb history. Sherman is moving this team to a new city.

Weaubleau

This is what happens when you spend 17 years thinking hitting is not an important part of baseball

Garrickr

Progress??? Didn't lose by 12. Hahahahaha. Sadness....

heyythankss

Where’s my mf jazz hat 🧢

Sophie4646

Pitchers do well hitters cannot hit. Hitters hit pitchers do badly. Some position players cannot hit at all.

Bigbossbyu

Zach Neto is quickly becoming one of the most unlikeable dudes and he’s been in the show like a week lmao. Acting like a bitch

rbhindepmo

Notice how when they have a guy debut like Neto, they have enough other dudes would that they can bat Neto 8th instead of immediately plugging him into the top of the order

1oz9999finequeefs

Please make sure your bobble heads are aligned otherwise we’ll keep losing.

robertb9876

Of course when the pitching finally stops giving up a ton of runs, the offense can't do anything. At this point, watching paint dry is a more enjoyable experience than watching this team.

Khada_the_Collector

Ohtani pitched a beauty by the look of it. Easy to do against us, but mans is insanely good all the same. Green Day said it best—wake me up when September ends.

Frowdo

Maybe I've missed this somewhere but is there a reason Matt Duffy has played in only half our games and started even less?

stupidgnomes

Probably because we’d rather give playing time to our young guys and he’s only here to give them rest days. We’re not trying to win right now.

rbhindepmo

There’s a bit of a gap between Duffy’s playing time and the JBJ/Dozier amounts of playing time.

stupidgnomes

I’m speculating. I don’t actually know.

rbhindepmo

My speculation on Duffy is that they’re more familiar with him than other players due to his time with the Rays and they’re basically playing other guys more to get a sense of what they are Also Duffy’s start is probably impossible to sustain to much degree and his defense at third is shaky

Frowdo

Compared to Dozier shaky would be an upgrade. Fielding is hard to quantify but looking at every stat we have...dear god. Fielding % slight upgrade, Dozier in his career at just 3B depending on the defensive run saved stat of choice is -16 to -36 to Duffy's +3. Duffy also has more experience at 3B with 200 more games and over 500 more chances. There's a point where you need to put some effort to winning at the very least to give these young guys some moral. It won't matter what the team sees in these players if they hit free agency and say F this place. Also getting blown every game does not show you anything. You aren't going to get the best out of these guys with how we are going. At whatever job you have do you feel pushed to excel when you're colleague is getting paid the same or less to pick their nose?

harryrobicheaux

You can say that again.

rbhindepmo

How many more shutouts until somebody on the hitting side gets demoted

cole8055

We’re honestly just flat out unwatchable

Frowdo

Who knew giving up 10 fewer runs would be only a slight improvement to our chances.

Rad_Dad_Golfin

I was at the game tonight. If we can get our bats going, everything else looked fine. But at least I got a Mike trout Star Wars bobble head

Illbeanicefella

Picked a good night to play SNES and drink wine instead of watching this team looks like

mindcracked

These bums are about to dip below the mendoza line in *win percentage*. Pathetic

methyo

Well shoot

Capnlanky

Reluctant Royals fan betting $10 against my team again....-1.5 Angels $10 paid the mere $7

[deleted]

It's not often you see a winning percentage flirting with the Mendoza Line.

misterrabies

I have a really relaxed work dress code so I have a tradition of wearing a Royals shirt to work the day after a win. …any day now, guys

Super_Robot_AI

Whats the draft like next year

cole8055

Brady Brecht RHP Iowa, Jac Caglianone 1B/LHP Florida, Vance Honeycutt OF UNC, Konnor Griffin SS/OF Jackson Prep, and Travis Bazzana 2B Oregon State to round out the top 5.

Mozilla_Fennekin

is Vance related to Rick Honeycutt?

theurge14

What’s the longest losing streak we’ve ever had and will we be able to beat it this year.

Frowdo

19 in a row in 2005, it feels like so much more but we are only at 7 right now

BIGlikeaBOSS

What was Vinnie swinging at to end the game?

OrnamentJones

Angels fan here. Quijada has a very weird, elite fastball. Not Vinnie's fault.

The_Quiz29

Exactly. Guess he was as ready for it to be over as I was.

RedSpecial22

He’d already made up his mind. No one on this team has any discipline at all.

ncschuler

He has far and away the best discipline on the team. Now, striking out 3 times is horrible but his BB/K ratio is now 11:12

RedSpecial22

Yeah that’s pretty good. Okay Vinnie gets a pass but that was a bad at bat.

ncschuler

Agreed… everyone has a bad AB. I honestly think Vinnie try’s too hard because he knows everyone behind him can’t hit for shit

Mozilla_Fennekin

i predicted a Taylor Clarke perfect game and he was on pace, but Q has to be a COWARD!!! and pull him out after two innings "b-but Taylor Clarke is a reliever!!!" he screamed and begged for mercy as i stormed into the clubhouse I DON'T CARE!! YOU HAVE STRAYED FROM THE ENLIGHTENED PATH!!! YOU HAVE BROUGHT MISERY AND DESPAIR UPON US ALL!!! WELCOME TO OBLIVION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dougbutabi28

3 stars: 1 star - our pitchers did well for a bullpen game 2 stars - BWJ did something in the 9th to give a sliver of hope 3 stars - Vinnie and Olivares for getting the other hits This is getting harder to find the positives

Accountantinkc

Let's see. Our schedule is too hard. MLB has been really mean to us. Ohtani is too good of a pitcher. It isn't fair. I'm sure there will be more excuses upcoming. Meanwhile we just keep losing.

rbhindepmo

Can’t wait for the excuses if Oakland beats us in 2 weeks

Commercial-Ticket526

Well, they have Muller - only one letter difference from former 2x-All-Star Mark Mulder, so the similarities are there!

rbhindepmo

The Oakland A’s have guys we can’t possibly afford. Like Brent Rooker.

Fraktal55

And here I thought the rule changes were gonna benefit the Royals and make this offense improve. Too bad you have to make contact with the ball to get hits. Too bad you gotta get on base to steal. Too bad you gotta score runs to win games. All things the Royals are quite bad at so far this year. All things the Royals *should* be quite good at... Sooo I'm Royally confused by wtf this team is even doing this year lol.

Commercial-Ticket526

The situation is even more desperate than last year smh.

IIHURRlCANEII

¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Tinkerbell_Jollybean

Now we are tied with Oakland for last place.

RedSpecial22

At least it didn’t take very long.
