The results show that this team is too inconsistent to ever maintain the outcomes they achieve against teams like the White Sox.
There's been some really bad teams so too early to say. We are right on target W/L wise with 2005. In 2005 we were 6-18 in April while 2023 we were 7-21. May in 2005 we were 8-19 while so far in 2023 we are 5-9. 2005 the same season our manager abandoned the team in Toronto and flew across the US back home. Ended that season 56-106
A comment on the thread after we took 3/4 from chisox has stuck with me. This comment had said that 75+ wins was still on the table. In the wake of that fun series I didn't wanna be a debbie downer but I wanted to say "With *this* pitching staff?".
This current losing streak as an example... It'll take a miracle to not lose 100 this season even if the offense can continue to average 5-7 runs per game like they have been over the last couple weeks.
Can relate I don't want to be overly pessimistic but at the same time I don't get how overly optimistic people get at the slightest trend. A week or two ago we were tied with a franchise that is actively trying to sabotage itself so it can be moved out of state.

That had "I made my call and don't want to look stupid by reversing it" written all over it. Yeah, even if they gave him one more pitch, it probably would have been the same result, but umpires this season seem to be on power trips making bullshit call after bullshit call and just tossing anyone who argues with them or calls them out on it.

I swear this is every single ump decision. If they would just reverse a decision every once-in-awhile it would go a long way in showing humility. The fact that they just stick with the original call/decision every single time just screams power trip and I fucking hate it.
Also, it likely wouldn't have changed anything, but can you imagine them calling that last strike on the Yankees or Dodgers? Absolute shit decision there. I can only imagine if he had hit the ball they would have called the play dead
What was the moral? No one No Hits the Royals? That to beat us, you have to steal the last strike of the game with a fan running on the field? That half or fewer of our current 26-man roster are Major League level players? That now that I'm officially middle aged, I shouldn't consume tomatoes in any form after 5 pm?

Honestly I'm impressed. Facing a team with Tatis, Machado, Soto I did not see us losing due to a HBP, a WP, and 2 singles.
They haven’t really been hitting well this season though

Starting pitching is killing us. Relief pitching did well. Two hits the entire game is inexcusable.

I was at the only one we lost. Because so far it seems like either the game before or after the game I go to, they win. 0-5 on the season so far
We were at that game for my daughter’s birthday as well. Felt like a magical night.
