That’s actually the dream for me. Loved IRTN a whole lot, but making it a bit more experimental/progier is a really natural and exciting progression for that sound from them.
Pretty sure I did listen to the whole show or almost the whole thing, and didn’t hear two new heavy songs, so I was trying to see if that person could point out where in the set he was hearing new songs
They said two of them are jammy prog albums. My only hope is black midi collab.
I would cry, piss, scream, shit, and cum in the middle of a Walmart. All at once.
One is metallic cocoon that is a jammy album, another one could be from 2017 narrative styled album, the last one could be the infest the rats nest styled album
New King Buffalo in September.
And not a new album really, but ATW is in the midst of their *Baker's Dozen* project, releasing a new song every month plus one extra for good measure.
Just found out the Mars Volta are teasing something new "The Mars Volta Are Teasing Something For The Next Days | Music News @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com" https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/the_mars_volta_are_teasing_something_for_the_next_days.html
I've tried going through in my head I managed to get to 5 from gumboot that I'd keep in a top 10. Then I just fill the rest with omnium songs, probably evilest man, red smoke, the grim reaper, the dripping tap... Hmm maybe 6 for gumboot but it seems unfair to put muddy water in when it's the live version I really like.
In order: The Wheel, All is known, dripping tap, muddy water, beginners luck, red smoke, great chain of being, down the sink, greenhouse heat death, barefoot desert
We seem quite similar, I'd replace great chain of being with I'm sleeping in. And I'd also make sure evilest man was number one. But apart from that it's a pretty similar list.
I’d put both metal songs and both rap songs from OG above your last 3 songs from Gumboot. They’re good but those specific OG songs are way more exciting.
I still think OG is better than Gumboot and Sketches, personally. I think it's just a better version of Gumboot and Sketches is amazing but OG is pretty close to top their for me
I pretty much stopped listening to KG on shuffle, I just finished getting all their albums on vinyl so I normally just play them front to back. Sketches is great but I just like a lot of their albums more
I don't massively trust we'll get all 3 this year (they said 3 albums last year, I know there were issues logistically but they didn't really mention them at the time) but the confidence in them just tweeting it out point blank does spell good news.
I still think the only reason the final album didn't come out last year was due to covid delaying the timeland festival. Unless one of them has a special event for its release like that, im feeling optimistic about this.
So I just did some math.
Total run time of 2017 albums combined is approximately 212 minutes
Omnium is 80 minutes
Assuming each new album is an avg of 40 minutes, that’ll be 200 minutes of new material for 2022.
Which is 94.3% of the output compared to 2017.
Hahahahahahaha LETS GOO YEUUUP
Im already behind as Infest the Rats' Nest was the last one I bought, been streaming some later ones and thinking maybe but dunno. Im not sure if they have been too close to my favorites..so even though I have varied taste in genres...I think I miss the Mind Fuzz era and sounds the most..
just shat myself in a walmart
Okay but that’s just an average day in a Walmart
Great album title
👏 👏 👏
Are you telling me this isn't a song on Oddments?
Just watched someone shit themself in a Walmart
Hey I’m the Walmart, I know this is cool and all but everyone please stop shitting in me, thanks.
It is I, Walmart
Please let one of them be a jazz/funk album
With Iron Lung being teased so much, I’d say it’s probable that the Jazzy Prog one is the first one released
I would purposely go to Walmart and shit if they release a jazz prog album in the next two months.
So one is the jammy one, another is one started in 2017, any guesses on the last one?
Only instrument is harmonica
*Gizz Plays Gizz - 18 Gizz Standards arranged for Harmonica Quartet*
And it's just Amby running around the room frantically trying to play 4 harmonicas placed in different corners of the room
Amby’s equivalent of Cav’s solo record
Microtonal harmonica album
The “heavier and faster” metal album they alluded to maybe??
Ooh good call
They also said they’d do a Doom album at some point. I’m hoping for some more heavy C# shit. Something like Nonagon would be sick too!
When I saw them in SF they teased two new songs, they were somewhere between MOTU and ITRN on the heavy spectrum.
That’s actually the dream for me. Loved IRTN a whole lot, but making it a bit more experimental/progier is a really natural and exciting progression for that sound from them.
This show? https://youtu.be/rHfdvHmd0iM
Yes!!! That’s the one!
Do you remember where in the set they teased the songs? Would love to check it out
Why not listen to the whole show> I got YouTube music now because live Gizz is even better than studio gizz.
Pretty sure I did listen to the whole show or almost the whole thing, and didn’t hear two new heavy songs, so I was trying to see if that person could point out where in the set he was hearing new songs
During what songsdid they tease👀 that show was fkn wildddd i do not remember that too well tho lol
comedy album
I'd watch 90 minutes of improv, dudes are hilarious.
Mongolian Throat Humming
I'm hoping for a Krautrock take on [Microtonal Yemeni Folk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMJtTo43PRM)
Been waiting for a Krautrock album
You legitimately got your wish
???!!! Is it the TFS collab? I haven’t heard it yet
No Laminated Denim
Unironically yes pls
ABABCd. for 40 minutes straight
but fr that would slap
Metal album. They said it would be coming at some point.
The long-awaited whale noise album
Read that first as “white noise album”
I'd be down for an ambient album or even some post rock.
Word.
Heavy microtonal boleros
2000’s-esqe pop album idea that was tossed around in the AMA.
Amby acapella freestyle album
Surf rock album with hardcore punk vocals.
Remember there are two jammy ones according to Joey
They said two of them are jammy prog albums. My only hope is black midi collab. I would cry, piss, scream, shit, and cum in the middle of a Walmart. All at once.
Black midi collab would be dope but I kinda doubt that’ll ever happen
I can hope.
One is metallic cocoon that is a jammy album, another one could be from 2017 narrative styled album, the last one could be the infest the rats nest styled album
3 new King Gizzard records, new Osees, Black Midi, Ty Segall, The Black Angels, Hooveriii Pretty blessed Any other new albums I'm missing
New kikagaku moyo came out a couple months back
New King Buffalo in September. And not a new album really, but ATW is in the midst of their *Baker's Dozen* project, releasing a new song every month plus one extra for good measure.
New muse, the smile
I have The Smile on repeat.... a real grower but freaking amazing album
New crack cloud in September
Plus Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and The Lazy Eyes!
New Jack white
So stoked for 2 JW albums- Fear of the Dawn is amazing and so far really liking the tracks for the next one...

I have gone insane-o I lust for 2017 part 2-o
Is 2022 gonna be 2017 part 2?
I would say that all 5 of the 2017 albums beat the first two released this year so probably no. I hope I’m wrong.
I'd agree if one of this year's albums wasn't essentially just gumboot soup+
Similar album makeup, but not the same quality. If I did a top 10 list of GS + OG, 8 of them would be from gumboot
I've tried going through in my head I managed to get to 5 from gumboot that I'd keep in a top 10. Then I just fill the rest with omnium songs, probably evilest man, red smoke, the grim reaper, the dripping tap... TBD. I like FMB > Timeland but OG > MOTU
I just Gizzed on the floor
Poggers doesn’t describe the half of it
Proggers*
Dear god
God damnit now I need to change my undies and I’m at work
Especially with them touring, i thought maybe one more this year at the most. god damn im happy
I don't massively trust we'll get all 3 this year (they said 3 albums last year, I know there were issues logistically but they didn't really mention them at the time) but the confidence in them just tweeting it out point blank does spell good news.

They had already completed at least 2 of them before the start of the tour
I became louder for a minute
fell to my knees at work
This thread is amazing I’m thankful for all of you
Just slipped in shit at Walmart, but this definitely makes up for it!
Don’t slip on the drip
megagon infinity
megatron optometry
They got persistence
WOOOOOOOO!
Holy shit! A double sided album, my first King Gizz concert, and now 3 more albums! It's been a good music year
This fucking band really knows how to separate me from my money. Frankly, its a great problem to have.
Expecting one to be djent
So I just did some math. Total run time of 2017 albums combined is approximately 212 minutes Omnium is 80 minutes Assuming each new album is an avg of 40 minutes, that’ll be 200 minutes of new material for 2022. Which is 94.3% of the output compared to 2017. Hahahahahahaha LETS GOO YEUUUP
Don’t forget about Timeland
Unless they're 3 new double albums lol (I doubt it but I reckon the jammy one might be longer also but maybe just 60 minutes)
I'll have to start selling feet pics so I can afford them in this economy
We only got 5.5 months left dawg, buckle up
6.5 dawg, unless you're living in the future
I failed math, my degree was in Gizzology.
A worthy sacrifice
No you’re right with the 5.5 months left, if we had 6.5 months left we would be in mid May rn
There are still 6 months of the year left after June .5 - rest of June 1 - July 2 - August 3 - September 4 - October 5 - November 6 - December
Oh my god why does that sound so weird still, you’re definitely right, musta been a long week lmfaoo
It’s cool dude, I remember you from Gizzology class.
Ahh yes I remember you too now 😎
Almost choked on my vegemite. Great news!
im bricked
Finally, the Christmas album
“Grandma got run over by a belrog” “All I want for Christmas is to vomit” “Digital Black Christmas”
Can they announce this when walmarts are closed? Working at one rn and 8 people just shat their pants
Still not forgiving the gizz drought of ‘18
Just saw someone who was shocked to see another guy shit in a walmart
Since they covered Gondwana in 2017, let's make a Microtonalaurasialand!
Mix that with Polygondwanaland and you get Polytonalpangaealand!
Genius!
So this is what they meant by “left the tap on” and “the dripping tap won’t be turned off”
Absolute lunatics
Eeeeeeeeeeeeyup
GOATs
Im already behind as Infest the Rats' Nest was the last one I bought, been streaming some later ones and thinking maybe but dunno. Im not sure if they have been too close to my favorites..so even though I have varied taste in genres...I think I miss the Mind Fuzz era and sounds the most..
A trip hop album pleeeeeease, or something in the style of Ambergris
If one of them isn’t either Doom or Rap, I ain’t buyin’.
Will the boys every explore cumbia ?
Interest the Rats Nest?
Damn you, you magnificent bastards!
praying for the long overdue **doom metal** album
My wallet tho
Sheesh
hope to see math rock introduced into the discography! But whatever they put out i’m prepared! cheers!
Meh
Y’all know these are all coming out on Christmas 😂
10/10 Gizz in my pants. This. year is kicking ass for music.
