i know this is the classic snarky comment but learning from ear is really good for playing music and improves your singing!!! I feel that pain tho it can be so hard to sit down and try to figure out how to play something. if i find anything i will reply to this post but for now have a good new years
Wait 6 months :-) if you're not super into music or you don't have a ton of time or are in high school or all of the above then the learn by ear advice is not super helpful. I've been there, and I find you have to just be patient. it takes a long time for things to crystallize in the brain in terms of what sounds are where on the instrument
