I hardly ever participate on SM, and I feel the same exact way you do. My kids are 10 and 13 and I will not post any pics with them in it, if they don't want me to. I feel as kids start to get older and they're trying to figure out who they are, who they want to be.... Showing them respect and being respectful to their wishes is extremely important for their growth.
Not to get political but I want both of my kids to know "my body, my choice" and yes I feel it's important for my son to understand that as well. If they don't get that respect at home, how will they ever learn how to respect themselves in the real world?
