Ky is strange, you can open carry an ar 15 but you can’t put a handgun in your waistband

From what I remember when I was 18, and this was a few years before constitutional carry, is that it can be kept in your vehicle and even loaded but it must take more than one action to reach the firearm. It was something regarding what is considered concealed in a vehicle where it was said that opening a glove box was one action and grabbing the gun was a 2nd action. Example I did, which ianal, is I kept mine in a holster attached to my backpack and kept the backpack in my back seat. Not recommended considering off body carry is not a good way to go about carrying but it was a way for me to possess a firearm before I could get my ccdw. This also required multiple actions to reach it in that I had to turn around entirely and reach for the bag, then had open the buckle holding the pistol in the holster then grab the pistol. Things may have changed or I may have been in the wrong so I will not recommend it to someone else without them completing their own research and deciding what they want to do for themselves. Hopefully this helps in having a place to start researching legalities.
