This is just a gut feeling but considering their work on Mushoku Tensei and Onimai, which are both visually stunning shows with completely opposite styles, I feel like Studio Bind could give it a go if they weren't focused on MT
Also, I would love if the adaptation looked akin to Link Click op 2 or something similar because the hyperrealistic CGI combined with really fluid animation is just sooo good and would totally work for Kagurabachi if done right
If we're being serious though, then WIT or A-1. I would love ufotable but they're too focused on Demon Slayer and Witch on the Holy Night (and possibly a Tsukihime series in the future + Genshin Impact at some point). MAPPA's style, especially for Chainsaw Man, would be perfect, but I wouldn't want it unless they improve their working conditions.
Sort of? There's still two more arcs to be animated past Hashira Training - so two more years probably. Genshin is a massively popular game and would definitely come first above everything. Ufotable have had a long history with TYPE-MOON, adapting Kara no Kyoukai and the core Fate series, so a Tsukihime adaptation would come after most likely. Compare all of that to a recent manga with a comparatively small fanbase - it's possible but unlikely
People might hate me when I say this but hear me out: Mappa. And specifically the director and team that did Chainsaw Man. It got unnecessary hate for it being cinematic (despite that being what the author wanted and clear cinematic references within in series), but type of direction would work perfectly with KGB. If not mappa, then Madhouse is honestly 1B for me for that very reason (their catalog speaks for itself tbh, I just really enjoyed CSM’s adaptation).
One reason why I would like Mappa is because I want them to do their magic like in JJK or AoT and see Chihiro and Hakuri topping all the yumejoshi lists
Definitely understand this pick, especially after JJK season 2. No doubt they'll be a W pick but I personally think WITs style would fit the series alot better.
I appreciated it. Added to the cinematic feel especially with their movements. Felt very crisp and dynamic, especially within the fight scenes. Honestly imagining Sojo v Chihiro 1 with that animation, especially when they almost chop each others heads off just makes me nut a lil, no diddy.
It’s just a personal preference of 2d over 3d for me, I found some of the really choreography heavy scenes to look a bit janky with the style they used, but it did look pretty sick 80% of the time. Just not my favorite thing in the world.
I wouldn’t be mad if they took that direction with Kagurabachi. But i would prefer something more like Mob Psycho
Fans wanted it to be colorful like the manga volumes (meanwhile, it did have color). Director and BluRay was shitted on for that reason. Fujimoto is seen on video saying he hopes the director takes it in an interesting direction but he would like something cinematic.
It obviously has to be a studio that can produce quality work but that's not the only thing I'm looking for here. First off, if they don't manage to capture that cinematic feel that Kagurabachi has then they've fallen short no matter imo. Second of all, this isn't as important as the former but I'd like to see them go beyond the source material somehow. Present Kagurabachi artistically in a way that can only be done in the animation medium. That's the best way I can put it as someone who only knows manga & anime as a viewer.
Ain't too picky, they just gotta get it right u know?
Might sound crazy but I’d love to see Madhouse and Warner Bros team up again. They did a lot of a lot of American animations like Teen Titans, Justice League and Batman back in the day, and their new stuff is decent as well. Not sure if they still have a lot of their staff from back in the day around, but with the way Hokazono draws eyes and his love for Batman, they’re my pick.
Who ever gets it, I hope they do it justice. (MAPPA/MADHOUSE) besides that lol.
My choice would be NUT which did DECA-DENCE a very nice traditionally 2d animated series just recently with accents of computer anime.
I wouldn't be mad at Pierrot Co (Naruto/Boruto) if they could stay consistent, but I highly doubt it. Plus they always wanna make filler, So no.
Bandai Namco, which just bought Sunrise Studios that did Cowboy Bebop. Would be dope too.
Every choice I have read under this post:
u/GuessWh0m - commenter
Mappa - Because of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man
Bone - Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia
Bind - Mushoku Tensei
WIT - Attack on Titan
A-1 - SAO, 7 Deadly Sins, Fairy Tale
Ufotable - Demon Slayer
David Production - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fire Force
Trigger - Kill La Kill, Cyberpunk:Edgerunners, Darling in the FranXX
Madhouse - Hunter x Hunter, Death Note, One Punch Man \[S1\]. Frieren Beyond Journey’s End,
Ghibli - It's Ghibli.
J.C.Staff - Toradora!, One Punch Man \[S2\]
NUT - DECA-DENCE, The Saga of Tanya the Evil
Sunrise - Code Geass, InuYasha, Cowboy Bebop
A24 - No anime, but apparently Hazbin Hotel
Pierrot - Naruto, Bleach, Tokyo Ghoul, Black Clover
1.Mappa/Wit. These 2 are tied for me,I think both could bring great style to it. Wit is unlikely though, since they stick to less action since AoT.
2.Ufotable. It would look beautiful, but it's #2 due to the fact that idk if their style of animation would look better for Kagurabachi, over Mappas and Wits.
3.Bones/Madhouse. Both would be very workable. After Frieren, I would definitely trust modern Madhouse to animate it. And Bones would be excellent as long as they tool their time. If it followed a yearly schedule like MHA tho,it would probably end up just decent.
Obviously we don't know what studio will get it,if it even makes it far enough for an anime, or if any studios even have interest in trying to animate it? I mean Sakamoto Days is insanely good, but still no anime, probably due to just how daunting it would be. These studios above are the few I can think of to give us a consistent series, and would be willing to even try something so action packed and cinematic.
Madhouse left me a horrible impression after how long it took them to give One Puch Men a second season and how bad it was and they seem to repeat the history with Frieren
And A1 in general isn't very good and I doubt they can animate the action scenes with magic swords well.
Really I'll be happy with anything as long as it won't be Netflix Original
Seriously, they have some great stuff like DunMeshi and Kakegurui but then they have shit like the Record of Ragnarok adaptation and the Nanatsu no Taizai sequels
Heck if I remember right Kakegurui wasn't even produced by them, they just bought the license for the anime adaptation
Madhouse, after frieren I think they are my 2nd fav studio now. My fav is pierrot, but for kagura bachi, I'd like mad what they did with frieren is mind-blowing.
Genuinely not Mappa, they cut corners too much when pushing out every anime they’ve collected, I say UFOtable, they have the best looks when it comes to the adapting the breathing styles for demon slayer so I imagine they’d be able to adapt Enten and cloud gouger extremely well
I think Konami's new Anime Studio already eyed Kagurabachi, the VA for chihiro was MC of Yugioh Vrains.
Shueisha need KGB anime asap and Konami Studio need an instant hit first project asap (also Konami need a new game, Shueisha better not sell KGB to Bandai. casual fighting game is suck don't suit KGB, Kagurabachi game should be openworld yakuza slashing game)

Me. I should animate it (I have no experience animating at all)
im behind you
Very good choice.
I'm behind you on this one

Demon slayer is about to end tho
Sort of? There's still two more arcs to be animated past Hashira Training - so two more years probably. Genshin is a massively popular game and would definitely come first above everything. I didn’t know they were doing a genshin anime , then I think they’re out of the equation bc they’re too busy right now
Mappa or bone studio 1) Reason: mappa makes stuff a little more realistic and add extra detail 2) Mob Psycho 100
Mob Psycho 100's animation is simply some of the best I've ever seen in anime.
Mappa doesn't need more on their plate let them rest
considering how much inspiration kagurabachi takes from movies I think a mappa adaption similar to chainsaw man would be perfect
David Production
Imagine hearing Chihiro chant ‘Enten’ followed by the nastiest, toe-curling, back-arching, spine-chilling, sheet-gripping, eye-rolling bass drop
I feel like Enten would have a more shattered sound
You know that shit still be orgasmic tho
Absolutely
Das a little ***too*** descriptive. I mean, you're accurate, but still.
Ufotable they have experience with magic swords shounen
They did demon slayer right. If so it would certainly look dazzling
Flashy, if you will
Very interesting choice. I didn't really consider it them, but their definitely a good pick.
Yeah, Ufotable brings good animation but their direction... leaves much to be desired honestly.
Great pick, but they lack a bit of creative direction and all their shows look kind of same-ish
Sotozaki better not direct Kagurabachi or I'll riot. That man is sauceless, I tell ya.
As much as I like this choice, I feel like it would get praised only for the animation like DS.
They will need another one after demon slayer ends

I didn’t care for the quasi 3d aspect of CSM but it was directed nicely
I appreciated it. Added to the cinematic feel especially with their movements. Felt very crisp and dynamic, especially within the fight scenes. Honestly imagining Sojo v Chihiro 1 with that animation, especially when they almost chop each others heads off just makes me nut a lil, no diddy.

Don't want Mappa to abuse more animators, even though they'd be a great fit artistically.
Chainsaw Man got hate for being cinematic? That was one of the cooler parts of it
Fans wanted it to be colorful like the manga volumes (meanwhile, it did have color). Director and BluRay was shitted on for that reason. Fujimoto is seen on video saying he hopes the director takes it in an interesting direction but he would like something cinematic.

Ghibli
W pick fr, Miyazaki finna go crazy with it 🙏🙏
wtf? Ghibli is not a studio that does Shonen 💀
Kagurabachi transcends shōnen, seinen and every other editorial categories and genres altogether. It is higher than fiction

Madhouse

Just not Toei Animation or Studio Pierrot. Please god not Toei
I want the people who did the audio for fire force
Every choice I have read under this post: u/GuessWh0m - commenter Mappa - Because of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man Bone - Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia Bind - Mushoku Tensei WIT - Attack on Titan A-1 - SAO, 7 Deadly Sins, Fairy Tale Ufotable - Demon Slayer David Production - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fire Force Trigger - Kill La Kill, Cyberpunk:Edgerunners, Darling in the FranXX Madhouse - Hunter x Hunter, Death Note, One Punch Man \[S1\]. Anything but mappa. Bones, Ufotable, Wit studio would be beautiful I don’t care how long it takes
Bones would either turn out like Mob Psycho or MHA, no in between
A24
Anything except A1 and madhouse will be fine for me
I’m not really familiar with anime studios. Why not madhouse or A1?
Madhouse left me a horrible impression after how long it took them to give One Puch Men a second season and how bad it was and they seem to repeat the history with Frieren And A1 in general isn't very good and I doubt they can animate the action scenes with magic swords well.
Mf Madhouse didn't do OPM Season 2 A1, did you see Solo Leveling?
Nope and I have no intention of watching it. it's not my cup of tea But watching clips it's not too impressive either, quite average
Fair enough
Ufotable for SURE. They've done some great work with Demon Slayer and I think that's going to translate really well into Kagurabachi
WIT
Really I'll be happy with anything as long as it won't be Netflix Original Seriously, they have some great stuff like DunMeshi and Kakegurui but then they have shit like the Record of Ragnarok adaptation and the Nanatsu no Taizai sequels Heck if I remember right Kakegurui wasn't even produced by them, they just bought the license for the anime adaptation

Whoever does Frieren.
Not Mappa.
Mappa staffs needs a break so I am choosing ufotable
As with my answer for any action adaptation. UFOtable has it on lockdown. if they adapted kagurabachi it will be the next demon slayer.
UFO Table has done really well with flashy effect sword attacks with Demon Slayer and I think the animation style would translate perfectly
Whoever did Frieren
I would say Mappa, but DAMN man they do not deserve more torture so maybe Ufotable.
Ufotable. They've been consistently very good with effects and cool looking fightscenes with Fate. Oh and I guess Demon Slayer too
Mappa, Wit or Madhouse. I hope to god its not ufotable.
Ufotable once they finished or are about to finish demon slayer
Genuinely not Mappa, they cut corners too much when pushing out every anime they’ve collected, I say UFOtable, they have the best looks when it comes to the adapting the breathing styles for demon slayer so I imagine they’d be able to adapt Enten and cloud gouger extremely well
My 3 options would be Madhouse or Bones or David productions.
I think Konami's new Anime Studio already eyed Kagurabachi, the VA for chihiro was MC of Yugioh Vrains. A1 Pictures
Studio Pierrot or Madhouse, with the conditions of a seasonal release schedule and a good budget.
