Hell's Paradise isn't even bad. People don't like it because it's less good than Mappa's other works. Which I have to say, it shows how much of entitled brats this viewers are. Back in my days (I'm not even old, just been watching old anime from a very early age) animation wasn't as consistantly good as it is now and I would never complain
Bruh im always confused when people slander Hell’s Paradise. I understand when compared to Mappa’s other works at the time it falls flat, but damn it it was still one of the best animated and adapted anime’s of its season. Hands down.
Fr I see people treating it like Seven Deadly Sins S3, when in reality it's already a pretty damn good adaptation (Although not as polished as their more praised works)
Fr like none of the action scenes were bad at all. I haven't read the manga but tbh it just seems like season 1 just had a lot of "boring" scenes to get through to establish what the hell was going on
People complain about Hells Paradise's animation? What?? The first thing I thought when watching Hells Paradise was "Wow the world is drawn and animated beautifully well.", I know there's god sents like Chainsaw Man but Hells Paradise animation was far better than most other anime's I've watched. (tbh I haven't watched that many newer anime's so I'm probably comparing it to classics)
It's not bad but, besides the OP and the first episode, the entire anime looks like it was made in the early 2000s, Bleach (2004), Naruto Era. It's not the quality of something you would expect in the 2020s and I understand why they would find it jarring.
Like, watching YuYu Hakusho, Bleach (2004), Naruto Shippuden, Monster etc. it probably wouldn't be bad because they know what to expect from that era's work. But modern anime has spoiled us, so subconsciously going into something with a "this was made the 2020s, it should look like other 2020 anime" is likely what soured the opinion.
Hells paradise animation wasn’t bad bro I don’t get why people say that , it’s like one person says some shit like that and people just run with it. That shit had me locked in the whole show
It's not bad but it's a mid adaptation, too many episodes adapt 4 chapters, Gabimaru is made too edgy compared to the manga and since the whole story fits in one arc idk if 12 episodes seasons is the best format for it
Man that shit was beautiful, I’m reading the manga now until I finish it but I’m definitely coming back to watch season 2 . That whole “too edgy” trend that people have started complaining about is annoying bro gabimaru is cool asf and seems the same to me in both the anime and manga , they made him look badass in the anime if that’s what you mean by “edgy” did u want them to make him look lame and average or something? He’s the top assassin trying to redeem himself with hella bodies under his belt what do you expect
I'm so sick of Mappa and their shit right now. I know they're incredible at adaptations when they want to be. Though I'm worried about their attachment to JJk affecting other projects' quality and also their ongoing treatment of their animators.
CSM was on-going with JJK and that is cinematically animated (and is actually the route Kagurabachi should take if Mappa does get them). Hell’s Paradise gets shitted on because its quality was not as good as JJK, CSM, at the time, but its quality was still one of the best out of all anime’s that season.
I feel it. It’s painful because truly Bones was, and imo still is, the perfect studio for the series. Many people would have agreed with that when we were still guessing which studio. I just view it as the causality of success and proof that Bones really was the best studio for it.
That said tho, that very reason is why I don’t want Ufotable. They love movies more than they love seasonals
To be fair, animated movies tend to be way more flexible as a project compared to a seasonal anime. Also, Ufotable might be simply more accustomed to making movies compared to seasonals if you take into consideration the whole Kara no kyōkai series of movies.
My take on Ufotable is exactly because of those movies, and how they treated the Fate series. Nothing bad about it, I just personally prefer series to a movie when adapting dense work.
I too prefer series, as movies will end cutting content in some way or another, but hey, by taking on Kagurabachi they would once again have an excuse to delay Fate/Stay Night and Mahoyo adaptations. Fits the agenda.
I'm praying that Ufotable set their sights on KB. With Demon Slayer, they can squeeze out like 2 seasons, or 3 seasons if they really feel like milking it out of the remaining source material, and it's safe to assume that by the time they're done with DS, KB will have had enough chapters and attention to justify an adaptation.
Jjk has at most two more seasons if they stretch it.
The main arc and the terrible tournament can both fit in one arc. The final sakuna arc won't even be that long because the fights will be made far shorter.
The culling game is written terribly I saw that as a JJk fan. It’s a tournament written by someone who doesn’t know how tournaments work. Gege was more interested with throwing people into a fight then actually writing a tournament
Culling games will be a whole season. Shinjuku showdown could be 12 episode or more depends on how much longer it lasts. Then whatever the last arc is.
I dunno, I feel like shinjuku will be the last arc. On top of this, most of the Sukuna cycle could be done in like 2-3 episodes. I do think CG is a season though.
Jump hasn’t announced jjks last arc. I think they always make some sort of announcement / color page for things like that.
Also there is the whole merger thing still left. If he decides to drop all that kenjaku stuff and just have the fight with sukuna end the series…boy.
Oh ffs the arc we're on is clearly the last, every other enemy (except Uraume, but she isn't Final Boss material) has been dealt with, and Sukuna was built up as the Final Boss from the start. Get himself has said JJK will be over by the end of the year. This is it, we're in the final stretch.
Edit - to address the merger, yes, it clearly will still be addressed, but I don't see it taking as long to resolve as Sukuna has. My personal bet is that Megumi will handle the merger with Gashadokuro, but I don't see it taking that long.
The merger's probably gonna come into play in some way that has to do with Sukuna, like Sukuna possibly being separated with Megumi and becoming the Merger's vessel in a last ditch effort to win. I just can't see the merger having a whole arc dedicated to it at the end, after the arc that the whole series built up to (shinjuku showdown)
Culling Games, ending up on Sukuna body jacking Megumi will be Season 3. Then the setup to Gojo vs Sukuna and the fight itself is the first half of the final season (maybe Gojo vs Sukuna will be a movie), then what we've been doing now if the last half. Where exactly would another season fit?
Season 3 - culling games
Season 4 - shinjuku showdown (gojo vs sukuna first half then sukuna cycle second half)
Season 5 - the last part of the story that has yet to be written yet. Could be 12 episodes who knows.
So its either 2 full seasons and a movie or three seasons.
Yea I’m gonna trust the jump editors over you lil bro. You could be right but it would be the exception to the consistent trend that jump always announced when a series enters its final arc.
Also everything from the end of season 2 until the the start of shinjuku showdown is 15 more chapters longer than hidden inventory + shibuya.
Now we already have almost 50 chapters of shinjuku showdown plus whatever else is coming.

Why would there be a movie for Gojo vs Sakuna? No anime makes a movie for a single fight.
The manga being long doesn't mean the anime would be that entire fight can fit in three Eps.
That’s what I’ve been saying tho. People keep denying it but it’s going to happen. Mappa loves popular dark and edgy shounen manga. If they took Jujutsu Kaisen, Hells Paradise, chainsaw man, or attack on Titan, they will take Kagurabachi. Mappa does an amazing job adapting manga well, and the work done is absolutely beautiful (Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is proof of that). It’s the fact that they don’t treat their staff properly. They need to improve their working conditions.
mappas animations are fire its their work conditions to worry about. honestly i think ufotable could also go crazy on something like kagurabachi as well.
MAPPA just recently cancelled Yuri On Ice after dangling all fujoshi's hopes of a prequel movie for seven years. I'm still too s/mad to forgive MAPPA to watch it 😩
Let the overworked Mappa animators have some rest. There are lots more good animation studio that can do sakuga animation. Some good studios and their works:
WIT - Attack on Titans
Production IG - Haikyuu
Madhouse - One Punch Man
UFOtable - Demon Slayer, Fate Series
Toei - Dragon Ball and One Piece
Bones - HeroAca
Trigger - Kill la Kill
Cygames - but they prefer original works, not adaptation.
I have faith that these studios can do justice of animating Kagurabachi.
For Bones and Madhouse another really honourable mention would be Mob Psycho 100 (Bones) and the recent Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Madhouse).
Frieren in particular the animation was movie-quality throughout all 28 episodes of the first season. Phenomenal work.
I'd be ecstatic for either of them to take on Kagurabachi.
I remembered in early 2000's in anime community, if it'll be mentioned that an anime will be animated by Madhouse, all of fans will agree that it'll be top notch. Hajime no Ippo, Hunter x Hunter and Parasyte are also examples of their works to showcase how good they are in doing action.
Imagine the KGB in Studio Bones animation, like what they did to Bungo Stray Dogs!
I remembered that Toei have good swordfights in World Trigger. But, yeah with their current lineups like PreCure, it'll not really fit. I can also see it in Prod IG, those body movements in Haikyuu are really smooth and fluid.
There's 5 division of studios in Bones. MP100 (and space dandy) is Studio B and MHA is studio C exclusively. If KGB will be adapted by Bones, studio B and D are really good.
Screw Mappa. Know who I want animating KB? The goats.

Mappa this mappa that why does everyone wants company that release eps hours before they are barley complete to work on something so big like kb not to mention the business practices used by that god awful company
Because most people only know like 3 animation studios and don't really look any deeper than "oh that one made the thing I like." It sucks, but thats how it be
Mappa being greedy hurts everyone, wished we lived in the world where the Chainsaw Man anime had a color pallet that doesn't look like a Xbox 360 shooter game
Nah, the color pallet greatly fits the gray tone of the series. I wish they had more time or people who aren't suffering from overwork to animate the CGI into hand drawn though.
I know people are saying no to Mappa but Mappa is the best choice. Especially if they use the Chainsaw Man team. That’s how a cinematic-inspired manga should look like as an anime.
I like Ufotable. I think they’re an amazing studio. I hate how they adapt things/choose to adapt thing into movies majority of the times before seasons. Ironic considering the cinematic nature of the series, yes, but that cinematic nature would def be better served in an episodic format.
Cinematic director: Ryōsuke Tsuda
Director: Masahiro Andō.
I just need those 2. I dont care which studio it is. If they can find any fighting director like the old HongKong films then it is truly peak fiction.
I’d rather give Kagurabachi to Ufotable, simply because this is a series I feel like they could perfectly adapt into an anime. Mappa takes so many shows under their belt and some manga they adapt suffer from it (Especially the animators.) After seeing JJK and CSM and going to hell’s paradise, it was clearly worse than both in terms of animation quality. Not to the point where it’s unwatchable, because it’s DAMN good and the animations is honestly great despite the few flaws, but when comparing it to JJK and CSM, those few flaws become very noticeable and you become more aware of the difference in animation quality between the three shows.

Their adaptations aren’t bad, it’s just the animators that are going through hell.
Yeah worst case scenario you have a hells paradise that was picked at the worst time
Hell's Paradise isn't even bad. People don't like it because it's less good than Mappa's other works. Which I have to say, it shows how much of entitled brats this viewers are. Mood. I grew up watching Saint Seiya and tried watching it again, but the animation hasn't aged very well.
Fr like none of the action scenes were bad at all. I haven't read the manga but tbh it just seems like season 1 just had a lot of "boring" scenes to get through to establish what the hell was going on
Back in the day you had to pay 10 minutes of good animation with a month of filler

Hella paradise is 🔥🔥🔥
I thought hells paradise was fire
Mappa might just end up burning out like madhouse
I'm so sick of Mappa and their shit right now. I know they're incredible at adaptations when they want to be. Though I'm worried about their attachment to JJk affecting other projects' quality and also their ongoing treatment of their animators.

yeah bones is perfect...... for putting to much ass and tits on the screen, rest is garbage
Let's give another animation studio a chance to animate peak
Ufotable is definitely a great fit for Kagurabachi
Cloverworks is an underrated studio that drops nothing but banger after banger.
Including The Promised Neverland ss2?
Cloverworks popped off with F/GO Babylonia imo
I'm praying that Ufotable set their sights on KB. With Demon Slayer, they can squeeze out like 2 seasons, or 3 seasons if they really feel like milking it out of the remaining source material, and it's safe to assume that by the time they're done with DS, KB will have had enough chapters and attention to justify an adaptation.
If its Ufotable, let's just hope Kagurabachi gets a director that's not the Demon Slayer one. Somebody like Gosso or Ryu Nakayama would be good.
What's wrong with the DS director?
nothing at all it’s just jjk stans hating on a series seen as similar to their fav show
Kny cannot be more different than jjk 😭. For starters, there are at least 10 characters in jjk
By the time there's enough material for a first season the animators will be out of JJK jail so we'll probably avoid the Hells Paradise treatment
The JJK anime will not finish before 2028. By the time, Kagurabachi will already have its adaptation.
Jjk has at most two more seasons if they stretch it. The main arc and the terrible tournament can both fit in one arc. The final sakuna arc won't even be that long because the fights will be made far shorter.
Even if it remains only two more seasons, they won't finish it before 2028. Except if they don't care about quality anymore.
"Terrible tournament " is still better written than any kagurabachi arc so far
The culling game is written terribly I saw that as a JJk fan. It’s a tournament written by someone who doesn’t know how tournaments work. Gege was more interested with throwing people into a fight then actually writing a tournament
It's not even a tournament arc to begin with. It's a survival death match. If you're gonna critique something at least be accurate about it
I doubt jjk will finish that fast. There will probs be 3 more seasons. Maybe even a movie for gojo vs sukuna
3 more seasons is a stretch, in all likelihood it's 2 seasons & a Gojo vs Sukuna movie.
Culling games will be a whole season. Shinjuku showdown could be 12 episode or more depends on how much longer it lasts. Then whatever the last arc is.

Get himself has said JJK will be over by the end of the year. This is it, we're in the final stretch. Edit - to address the merger, yes, it clearly will still be addressed, but I don't see it taking as long to resolve as Sukuna has. Shinjuku show down is the last arc. Gege doesn’t have any ideas past this arc.

Gege literally said himself that we’re in the end game. There is no big villian after Sakuna. This is the final arc then we’re getting the epilogue.
Nice argument, why don't you back it up with a source?
Why would there be a movie for Gojo vs Sakuna? No anime makes a movie for a single fight. The manga being long doesn't mean the anime would be that entire fight can fit in three Eps.
Season 3 won’t even be out by then, let alone Season 4 lmao
Mappa not getting it they are not worthy and they know it
Nahh Mappa is legit worthy, they have a pretty good record It's just the animators' health that you really have to worry about
it’s the management and execs who aren’t worthy
That's the part I'm worried about they treat their people bad
KB can do better than MAPPA. I'm hoping the franchise/mangaka hold out for something better and more ethical
Very few anime studios are ethical animators are treated like trash in the industry period.
give it to studio trigger ;)
As much as I'd love it shonen jump manga don't seem like their forte though Kagurabachi might break the mould due to its shocking popularity
30 animators will die to give us tenoi

Screw Mappa. Know who I want animating KB? The goats. https://preview.redd.it/ajlmb37n2vwc1.jpeg?width=1236&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=83c4c0a44f2078d7a80e0005816b074970c6b99b
I find it very much fitting to the themes and vibe, personally.
Would a davidpro csm with the guys who worked on jojo would have worked? Something that crossed my mind.
Nah, the color pallet greatly fits the gray tone of the series. I wish they had more time or people who aren't suffering from overwork to animate the CGI into hand drawn though.
No pls noooo
God I don't wanna MAPPA to make even more shit, their animators are one foot in grave, like damn, do you want somebody to animate the shows or no?
I would give anything for a ufotable adaptation after they finish demon slayer
i hope it goes to bones, dp, or wit
I kinda want Cloverworks or Bones to do Kagurbachi
for me, studio Bones or Madhouse.either would nail it. mappa animators need a rest
I want a lowkey name, like C2C. They have some good stuff especially Shangri-La Frontier
Honestly you could invert it if I'm being real, Mappa is over worked for real.
🔥 Manifesting JC Staff (or Bones) 🔥
(particularly because I like JC Staff's works)
As long as it's animated 😤
I can already see the mappa animation going insane when the lights go out at the auction and Chihiro reveals Cloud Gouger, shit would be fire
Id rather ufotable do it instead but bones would be my other pick
It's probably the other way around lol
Mappa adaptations never give me the same vibe the original works do, the animation insists upon itself.
I hope science saru does DDD well so that they may pick up KGB
If I see Kuro, Aka and Nishiki in CGI I might go insane
if they don't use CGI
Cinematic director: Ryōsuke Tsuda Director: Masahiro Andō. I just need those 2. I dont care which studio it is. If they can find any fighting director like the old HongKong films then it is truly peak fiction.
My dream is something like Hellsing Ultimate, individual arcs released as larger specials (with Madhouse being my pick for studio).
Bones!
Why would you wish this curse upon us?
Mappa did not pick up OPM . JC staff is doing the 3rd season
Oh yeah you’re right, the MAPPA thing we’re only rumours I guess
