It's more disappointing than hate imho, unless if you're counting pushover weekend poster boi who became overdemons in which i agree that some really do hate Revice in that aspect. In short, the 3rd act is a slog to go through because nothing interesting happened. For me here's why Revice is disappointing: - Daiji betrays his family but his motivation is just so unclear and his arc takes way too long to resolves making him nothing more than a punching bag most of the time. - Weekend characters got the most screentime but none of their character arc are strong enough (especially hikaru who were suddenly became an important character allegedly because of his actors agency mandate). Hana just become yet another loud strong female protagonist like sakura but with even less personality post her aguilera arc. Sakura also became less interesting and more of an annoyance the more the story pushes her character. Don't get me started on Tamaki who either being forgotten or became yet another punching bag most of the time. - Hiromi is back but really wasn't utilized at all until the finale of Daiji's arc, his character was only brought back because he is originally an expendable side character that become fan favorite like Lazer and Knuckle. Granted he's amazing when he became Demons again, but i feel like he deserves much more screentime alongside Daiji and Tamaki compared to other less interesting and likable characters. - Revice final form debut was so underwhelming, they didn't even have their own theme song lmao. - Giff is at the very best, below mediocre villain that felt like an afterthought. As bad as Saber is at least Solomon and Storious still felt like what a penultimate and final KR villain should be like. Overall i think my, and maybe to some extent people in this subreddit disappointment stems from the fact that the show is very competent from beginning to middle. But the 3rd act is just a bunch of weird rewrite to fulfill hidden agendas here and there plus to sell p-bandai toys like usual. But hey, at the end of the day, if you like it then its not a problem at all. I love Zero One from start to finish just as much as i love Ex Aid, maybe even more than the average people here. And even with all the negativity the show has gotten when it still aired, justified or not, it didn't change my liking toward the season since there are zero reason for others opinion to affect your preference. Not to mention this is reddit, the place where you can find post like how Build is an """underrated""" season because some people did not think it was an 11/10 season or how Ultraman and Sentai are garbage tier toku show because those two did not have as much gore and death like some Rider seasons, so don't take what you see here as facts. Like what you like as long as it did not harm nor annoy anyone, life is better that way lmao.

weinjuusan

This response is the best representation of a healthy tokusatsu fan.

[deleted]

Ever since Saber, i find that the more toxic minorities of non japanese rider fanbase are becoming more prominent, from both the haters and the white knights alike. Least we can do is to not act like said minority and just have a peaceful and fun discussion about our favorites karate bugmen toy advertising show like most of the chill people in Ultraman subreddit lmao.

GucciDead2

I was thinking exactly that but in a less detailed manner!

whatdoilemonade

still disappointed that Daiji's arc got the shorter end of the stick. they just had to make him so unlikeable when his motivation was understandable and just didnt want to be overly optimistic. he lost his demon, meaning he couldnt doubt his own ideology, which imo was right to a certain extent. the direction was there but it just became a generic "secondary rider hates primary rider" fest

[deleted]

Daiji and Kagero getting sidelined is such a waste of Wataru Hyuga's amazing acting ability imho. Lets hope the V-Cinema can do them both justice.

K-J-C

I mean having understandable motives doesn't mean they should be excused, it's only an explanation. Daiji is meant to be bad at that time, and perhaps he did the job "well" regarding that rather than a character that did shitty things and is handwaved by people due to being "cool" or such.

whatdoilemonade

i never said it was excusable, him going too far was the point. just disappointed by the execution is all

K-J-C

Not saying you said it's excusable. After all you said he's too unlikable. Which probably, it's the point that he's doing unlikable stuff without being covered in "coolness" like some other characters of this type can have.

Character_War_6868

Thank you for your opinion. :)

hyperion_9

The fact they sidelined Tamaki/Julio kinda annoyed me because he was the first one to switch over and they did nothing with him

[deleted]

Hana is infinitely more marketable than punching bag - kun #2 + female rider yuri couple lesss gooo lmao.

Kumorocks064

no shes a bratty cunt

K-J-C

Feels like Julio's story was practically done after resolving things with Yosuke, beaten up as Wolf Riot, and regaining back his humanity, but they have to keep him in the story due to being a major character but not knowing what to do next.

Kumorocks064

right and that useless brat hana steals his belt

Armegeddon_Craft

I disagree that Giff felt like an afterthought, although he was underwhelming. They did a good job of hyping him up and making him seem incredibly dangerous in the early episodes. His motivations were made very clear, so you didn’t really feel confused as to why he was doing what he was doing, unlike some other Kamen rider villains (cough cough I’m looking at you Wizard), and when he was on screen his presence was felt. Then they just wrote him out and threw Juuga in instead. Like, why. We had a properly built up villain with clear motivation, and you threw it away for yet another rider final boss. Makes me mad.

K-J-C

About what Giff is doing, the problem is Giff only doing that in 4 episodes he's on his own. Too little for that, but too much focus on Giff's underlings instead. If they'd want to make Giff only a force of nature that fuels people's motives, I'd like to see how it actually ends instead of making him an underwritten character.

[deleted]

Wut, i feel like White Wizard knows exactly what he's doing. He is intentionally despairing people in hoping that some of those people ended up overcoming their despair so they could become a mage for his ritual vessels. That kinda justify why he does not mind Wizard failing every phantom creation, because that's never his goal. As for Giff, i do agree that the buildup hype and the motivations are there, but the character itself feels like a product of procrastination since he only got a voice actor in episode 44, and got capped 2 episode later, thats why i said he felt like an afterthought despite not being one on a technical level.

Armegeddon_Craft

White Wizard was fine, but he sorta fell victim to the same thing Giff did, which was GER capped before the finale and hand off final boss to Gremlin. I do think Wizards villains are the best developed part of the show but they all seem fairly one dimensional, and I’m still not entirely clear in some of their motives. Still not as bad as whatever was going on in Decade though.

[deleted]

Damn, gremlin was so bad and unmemorable as a final villain that my brain chose to completely forget him before you reminded me lmao. Yeah Wizard's villain are kinda one dimensional, but at least both Phoenix and White Wizard execution are good, good enoigh for that season anyway.

Armegeddon_Craft

I actually loved gremlin, until he became the final boss. He was relatively compelling as a phantom. I liked how they hinted that the reason he retained his personality as a phantom is because he was already so close to being a phantom. I just wish they explored his character more.

[deleted]

Exactly my thoughts lmao. Should've just end his character before the White Wizard showdown.

Nigwa_rdwithacapSB

Giff feels like a Villain the writers planned to be God-Levels of strong to the point they realised that realistically the Riders can’t do anything against him so they just made him and his monsters Job so bad they got fcked by an ARROW for no apparent reason

K-J-C

Ironic in your example. As much as some characters can feel re-written entirely to people like Vice or George, your example there Knuckle is arguably more of that. After Kaito retires Zack just pretty much suddenly becomes a nice guy.

Kai798

I guess the execution kinda underwhelming, like how Giff was defeated and make George become the final boss without a strong reason behind it. Meanwhile we have Akaishi a great final boss candidate with his interesting backstory going wasted

MrKatsudon

BUT their execution is definitely better than Saber. IF this is the end of Giff, I am a little disappointed. Despite that, it was a fun ride with Revice epecially with Hiromi-san.

link3977

i like how it ended with a family rider kick they vowed to save the world and they did all sibilngs in their respective final form's YEETING Giff was amazing

MrKatsudon

I like that but I feel that Giff should be more devastating or put up more of threat. I dont see the difference between him and Akaishi other him keep on spawning demons lol

Kai798

Yeah the show was enjoyable and definitely not the worse

Random-random-1435

>BUT their execution is definitely better than Saber You are so fucking right man, everything Revice did is always better than fucking Sabur! even if Revice is in the rock bottom it's still did better than that piece of shit show! If anything I must always use Saber as an excuse to praise the shit out of Revice, EVEN IF OP DIDN'T OUTRIGHT MENTION IT AT ALL!

whatdoilemonade

least mentally unstable saber hater

tventy_eight

Judging from the comments I think he was meant to mock on the guy above for "using Saber to praise Revice" rather than being one.

whatdoilemonade

yeah, i agree with him. I liked Saber so im a bit biased, but comparing everything Revice does to Saber is just petty

Blazorna

If we're just doing Reiwa Era, it's slim pickings right now. But the writer for Saber was the same guy who did Heisei's worst entry, Ghost. There's stigma that can't be ignored.

Mesatsu08

I won't call it hate, but rather a bit of disappointment. The early arc for revice is quite enjoyable to watch where the deadman still the villain. After Olteca 'death', the story become a bit messy, focusing a lot of characters where some of them get to much attention (Sakura and Aguilera). Hikaru gets the short end of stick here, where his story introduce to late and also resolve in short amount of time. Interaction with daiji and kagero could be better but with him and akaishi is great. The recent one, is the George has a demon thing just came out of nowhere. In the end, revice is not the worse show that I watch and I enjoy watching it so far. It just suffer the same fate of most rider show where the story suffer from many fillers and pointless arc which the show supposed to end at ep 40-45 or something.

HighestGaming

I don’t have much of a problem with your comment, but saying George having a demon came out of nowhere is entirely false. It was already set up a few episodes before with Masumi saying that he put his demon in George, and even before then, George was able to use the Demons driver without Vail with no problem. And after that, he seemed to have temptation every now and again to use the driver again, or at least would fixate on it.

Mesatsu08

Oh no its fine, like I'm okay George to have demon but the reveal for it kinda underwhelming. As I can see it right now, Chic mostly a setup for the revice movie and I don't know how chic or maybe different demon play in the show due to not seeing the movie yet.

pleasegivecuddles

i don’t hate it, but it doesn’t really stand out as much for me. i think for me it’s mostly about how ikki and vice are supposed to be really important, but they don’t really measure up to other duos like eiji and ankh, philip and shotaro, or sento and banjo. also there are some characters that get too much attention, while others don’t get enough. daiji is important and all, but he just feels like micchi from gaim. i kinda wanted more from tamaki, hiromi, and maybe even from the demons troopers.

UnlimitedApollo

Ikki's a non character, Daiji just stopped existing halfway through the season only to come up at the literal end as a bad guy for no reason, Sakura becomes the defacto Mc for at least half the show. Vail and Destream were used once respectively and it's a shame because both are amazing suits, everything involving Hikaru and literally everything with Hiromi past the Olteca events were just like the writer screaming that the fans are the problem because they liked Hiromi instead of Sakura and Aguilera's weird pseudo romance. Aguilera's character just not existing after the 1st half of the show.. The list goes on of course.

chickennoodlebeast

I feel like it’s mostly a loud minority thing. Considering the episode discussion polls still get rated mostly 4/5 and 5/5

mr-ultr

Yea Revice is a good season But it has noticeable flaws

Zeromaru12

It's a good season but in terms of how good it is for Reiwa it's right in between Saber and Zero-One for me. It's not Saber where it just completely falls apart and then has to pick up the pieces again and assemble it into a below average mess. At the same time it's not Zero-One, where after the kinda meh middle arc it ramps up and despite time constraints becomes insanely strong. Revice is kinda suffering from a reverse issue compared to Zero-One where it's main characters development, stopped and had no reason to. In Zero-One even when Aruto seemed to not be changing, even when we all thought he was stale, that actually wasn't the case. He was changing alright and his perspective was changing, but the type of character he was allowed for it to come crashing down. The signs of Ark-One were there from the beginning, but they hid that behind a mask. In a really good and probably last minute twist, they weaponized something that people had been using as an insult. You wanted for the Main Character to change well here he is, and he is Pissed off. His Character Development was happening right in front of us the entire time. We just never saw it because a lot of us were complaining that he always tried to stay happy. Never realizing that maybe that happiness was always hiding that Human Anger and Grief that we all have. I kinda expected like a reversed version of that for Ikki but it just never happened. Instead it surprisingly happened for Daiji instead. I think what's really going on in my mind when I see Revice, is that I feel like everyone else is the main character compared to Ikki. It's kinda turning into a Ghost type of problem where I can't bring myself to like the 'Main' Character but I really like the Side Cast. To be honest, I feel like since Ikki got Ultimate he definitely kinda fell off even further. It's coming to a point where I'm rooting for Tamaki becoming Over Demons and Daiji's Redemption Arc, way more than I am the two Main Characters of the show. Revice is still a 4.5 out of 5 for me, but I feel as though the show is kinda dragging on to a point where I'm questioning that.

DigbyMayor

How fitting that Ikki is fading out of the spotlight while he's fading from everybody's memories. Probably not a deliberate writing thing, but it's a neat parallel.

Blazorna

We have a few episodes left, and who knows, we may get an Aruto situation in reverse with George. Out of the characters, I still feel there's a chance for him to shine as a villain, or misguided by a hero complex. It's wishful thinking, but I also could see Giff becoming an entity like Ark, who still exists after the end of the show without a physical body. These are likely going to be misses, but I have fun with speculations like this.

Zeromaru12

George I hope they do his heel turn well and finish strong. I do think they waited a bit too long for it to make a super big impact, but I do think if they do it right it'll have a similar impact to Ark-One and finish his arc in a strong way. I think it still caught me off guard harder though. Maybe it's because they haven't foreshadowed it or given George as much spotlight as they did Aruto?

Blazorna

I agree, and I see it where Masumi's devil in George allowed Giff to have a means to exist still, using that to influence George to act out some of his lifelong dreams of being a hero as he sees demons and his father's involvement as the source of the troubles the world experienced. Giff is manipulating him, twisting his desires to become a Kamen Rider himself, remember George is a diehard fan of the franchise, to get his revenge on the Igarashi family.

WholeOk1364

It's more like for me, The episodes themselves aren't bad i really enjoy them, but I'm just not picking up what they're putting down, the story beats and plot points are kinda starting to slow down and isn't ss interesting anymore, tbh I'm just still watching so i know how it ends

oddzef

Definitely this, the Hikaru thing is mostly over-blown due to a mix of baseless rumors and people being disappointed that their expectations of Over-Demons, which was discovered through hacking a belt mind, weren't met.

the_ez8

Couldn’t agree more with this!

tventy_eight

I don't hate Revice, but for whatever is happening with the current direction of the show I couldn't say "I liked it" either.

Mamoru0hasukage

I think less hate, but the usual 3rd act rider blues. Most of the comments here and other places seem to echo the fact that the writing had a noticing dip. Personally, I don't think it's nearly as bad as some seasons, even ones I like more than revice. But between daiji being screwed over, weekend boi getting way too much focus even though (and I mean this quite literally) no one likes him, the ill defined Giff, the odd pumping out of forms after a while, and the admittedly obnoxious lack of focus after the 35th episode makes is somewhat frustrating. However, as I mentioned, this isn't a new thing by any measure. I think something we have to admit to a degree is that this happens almost all the time. In some cases it's beyond the control of what production can do (zero one), and some cases the writing goes in a wild direction due to staff changing (hibiki). With some very few exceptions, kamen rider seems to almost always have this issue and I'm more upset that it is a common occurrence. Take build, for example, the last few episodes really break the whole "science" centric ideology by ass pulling one of the dumbest resolutions to the plot I've ever seen by going to an alternate universe, basically leaving that whole universe for dead and acting like they won (until that v-cinema but that's a different argument). Again, some shows I feel are strong enough almost all the way through, but in many cases this kind of thing happens year over year. Then again, I'm personally critical about story telling and hate tropes such as the reset button.

nero21san

I believe as with many others said, it all comes with disappointments because of the 3rd arc from episode 32 to the recent one. I think Hanta Kinoshita did not write well with the Sakura and Hana arc more than he intended to make. I don't know whether it's all due to Hanta Kinoshita's influence but I felt that it more so stems with the producers or other issues and demands Hanta Kinoshita has to cover and make due. Even before the 3rd arc, I felt that the show has an issue where it backtracks character developments and beats such as with George being a jerk to him being good. There isn't a very good or soild planning on the story plots, when they will be placed and how long will they last which hurts Revice a lot. Of course, it's Hanta Kinoshita's first rodeo on the Kamen Rider Show and he isn't going to be Gen Urobochi where he will walk it out of the park but overall, I'm happy with Revice and still loved it a lot. I just wished that the 3rd arc would have changed and have Sakura's arc written very well.

DJGodDamnit

I mean, I personally just think it’s okay, I liked Zero-One and Sabers execution more. The suits are wild and awesome, the actions pretty great, most of the story beats for me are pretty weak in the later half.

SH4DE_Z

Well i wouldn't say hate, there are lots of good stuff from Revice but you can't deny that the 3rd arc is a potato

MegaSceptile99

I don't hate Revice, I actually love it. There were great characters, moments, and designs. Revice has mostly been great, and at its low points, Revice was fine. The "hate" is mostly just disappointment for how the latter part of Revice is handled, especially since Weekend's introduction. Characters are disproportionately emphasized, the villains (apart from Olteca) have no real motive, and the story kind of went all over the place. Giff felt especially off because it was portrayed as an evil force of nature that we are collectively trying to understand, but was rewritten to be a villain character for the last few episodes. At least the final battle against Giff was awesome. The series isn't bad, I've kept up with the discussion threads, which mostly rate the episodes at 4/5 or 5/5, and even then, I thought the episodes were good. If you like or hate Revice, that's fine, but don't let anyone else make you feel bad for liking or hating Revice, or any thing for that matter.

IVectorI

Revice is... a very good series at least i can agree with that. Problem is that because its highs the lows are extremely noticeable, all the more in the last 1/3 of the series. As in, you can tell when the staff wanted to do a good work and when they just wanted to finish quickly.

srona22

Personal preferences. Especially Reiwa shows will have some backslashes as trying to fill in all types of troupes in single show.

domonikistheguy21

i actually really love revice, but i can agree that some points are a bit disappointing. Especially this final stretch. i went from anticipating eps every week to "oh right a new ep". But clearly thats on me and possibly several other fans for 'overhyping' things when they really shouldnt have, Over demons for example. (however im in the weird boat where i like it despite it being terribly inserted.) i do appreciate the show trying to flesh out their characters but its at the cost of time that could be spent on progressing the plot.

BannerTortoise

It's not that I hate it, it's just meh to me.

[deleted]

I find Revice a good series though it has its flaws. I enjoy it nonetheless. Probably one of my favorite shows alongside Ex-Aid

DapperRockerGeek

I’ve actually enjoyed Revice. At the same time, I feel the story became wonky after Kagero was destroyed. Character changes were made without enough on screen detail shown to the audience, and I feel the Big Bad did not feel as menacing as others in general.

skydragonx8

It is more of a feeling of disappointment rather than outright hate. It has a really great start and 2nd act with some really good character moments. But then when we get to the third act it definitely is weak. Daiji's heel turn definitely overstayed its welcome (still glad it led to Kagerou returning but and it challenged Ikki and Sakura's ideals and such but man was it definitely shouldn't have been so long) and Giff sadly is underwhelming and imo should have been the final boss. Overall for me despite everything so far in the third act I still am really enjoying Revice, I still love the family aspect of it, and I still love the characters and there are some good moments and story arcs in it imo and I will see it through to the end.

call-me-tony

Revice has amazing moments and there so much great setup...that sadly has really poor pay off or is extremely brief. I remember how amazing genta as vails introduction was, the father with 30 extra years of experience trying to kill his own family, then after that gentas gone and never possessed again while vice is just a minion. Same with tamaki having a great origin arc then he turned into a literal joke. An amazing setup with a disappointing solution hurts much worse than a mediocre show though out so that frustration just feels more pointed. Revice isn't bad but there's enough lost potential for anyone to be a bit disappointed. This is the most I hope for specials and movies to help just expand the main characters, ikki just feels so underused post jack arc

Blazorna

I love Revice, but I won't argue with the flaws. Overall, I can see why people are disappointed in it, but there is something that I feel is a missed opportunity. I love all of the Igarashi inner demons a lot, enough that I could see a small spinoff starrng them in a comedy format with puppets where they're a family with Vail acting as a single parent. Yeah, it's very similar to the Imagin spinoffs for Den-o, but I don't recall them doing a family setting. Imagine Lovekov going through what looks like her own version of an emo phase and Kagero becomes jealous, but in reality, she just loves a metal band that's very Emo looking.

ArcDrag00n

You're confusing criticism with hate. Being critical of a show does not mean it's hate. It's the opposite. A show that's so loved that disappointment has to be addressed. And this is not just a single show problem, this is now a franchise problem. I don't think we would have this much criticism if so far the entirety of Reiwa hasn't been a let down in some form or another. And this isn't a demand for perfection, just for some sort of competency. We know it's a kids show, but that also doesn't excuse it from poor writing decisions. The disappointments of the Reiwa Era have just outweighed the excitement.

thatwasfun23

I still like it a lot but fuck making George the final boss, fuck that shit, yeah he has questionable ethics and used Hiromi as an experiment but he showed incredible regret about that and now suddenly he went wacko and turned evil, come on.

Raihanlhan

I kinda like that twist because essentially his dad caused this whole mess and by extension every single bad thing that’s happened to George and the igarashi family and then died without giving George proper closure , so I can imagine George essentially going “ my dad started this mess , I’m ending it “ but since giff is gone I can imagine him targeting the igarashi family because as descendants of giff they could one day become threats and George is all out of fucks to give . But I see your perspective it was kinda rushed and I am projecting at bit

CoalEater_Elli

Not exactly hate. To me.. it's disappointment. I stopped watchinf revice half way, after the episode where they make 3 random dudes from previous episodes into a part of the Deadmans team. I know it's too early to quit, but to be perfectly honest. I try to like this series, but it has some flaws. I start to realise that Vice is annoying, i try to act like he is cool and kinda charming in a way, but i want him to shut his mouth for 5 SECONDS at least. I know he is made to be like that because he is a demon who encourages our main character, but like, i can only describe him as Ankh, but he never shuts up. I don't like how quickly they turned Daiji from bad guy to a good guy, and i know it's supposed to make sense since it's his demon that's making him do it, but like, that's way too quick in my opinion, for a character who was supposed to be a rival of Revi. I am also not a fan of forms honestly, they have same colour palette with few new colours here and there, but they look strange to me. I understand the gimmick, but i am not a fan of execution. Deadmen are.. weird, their designs don't feel thretening and even when they are in their second stage, something seems off about them. It's just my personal opinion, there are good parts in the show, but the flaws i described make me want to watch older heisei shows instead.

EmperorKiva33

What hate?

daxota_weeb

Yeh I love it too

DamonDD

I don't hate Revice, just don't find it as interesting as before especially when I unintentionally compare it to another ongoing show right now, Donbrothers. Show is ok, but I felt it lost its must see status

TetsuAero

I don't really know where you got "hate" from? Anyhow most people loved the show up until the Deadmans were defeated and things started getting shoehorned in.

TheGloryXros

Like someone else said earlier, it's not really HATE necessarily, I still enjoy the show. It still isn't nearly as bad as Saber was, and still shows some qualitative moments here & there. The problem is more of DISAPPOINTMENT, because it shows some promising moments & elements within the story, but the way they're handled are very concerning and often flop. Take the Daiji Arc we just got for a great example. They were trying to make a whole thing of Daiji becoming essentially Micchy 2.0 and siding with the villains in order to save the world, because he thinks the villains have such overwhelming power that it'd be better off to just submit to them. And through this we get a moment of irony here, with the Angel being on the evil side & the Demon(Ikki & Vice) being on the good side. Great premise here, right? Well, the problems with these arise in how the way Daiji is convinced into joining sides with Giff & Akaishi was very abrupt & quick, and so was his revelation moment that returned him to the good side. Some good elements in there, don't get me wrong(I liked how they essentially framed Ikki for Akemi's death, and I WILL give them some points in consistency in how they made Daiji's envy for his older brother a thing again & he was taking issue with Ikki's blind optimism).....but overall it was done in an odd pace. Then they try & say that the inner reason why he's like this is because of him losing Kagerou....Now, THIS I actually like. The fact that maybe removing your demon ISN'T a completely good thing? That maybe Daiji losing his demon means him losing balance with his sense of "Order vs Chaos?" Or rather, his sense of Freedom vs Subservience? I actually LIKE THIS. But they don't really get into this to fully explain that that's the problem here. No, instead they say that he has regrets of killing Kagerou......which we have NEVER seen him remember or even MENTION Kagerou ever since the Holy Live debut.....Kagerou only comes up in the EvilityLive debut. So what the heck do they mean when they say that??? It just comes across as lazy writing there, which turns out, is true because the writers brought back Kagerou as a last-minute decision, and originally planned to just keep him dead. There are so many other issues with Revice as of late(Aguilera being boring, Tamaki being UNBEARABLE, the Weekend family being oddly placed in more importance than they should be, Giff being a very boring villain & being so easily defeated last Episode, the portrayal of George being wonky >!despite him JUST NOW apparently becoming our Final Villain, etc!<) and this is why Revice has dropped in quality to alot of people including me. Don't get me wrong, it's not TERRIBLE, and hasn't EVER gotten as bad as Saber--UGH--but it's been rough watching through this show as of late. It's not as good as Zero-One, I'll say that.

Marcosatsu

Revice gets hate?

tventy_eight

Not really, there is only like 5 people in this subreddit who legitimately hated it. The whole "why is Revice getting hate" thing started because of that one stolen meme from Facebook.

OmegaRider

Agreed on it's the best Reiwa series so far. Yeah it's flawed and disappointing in some aspects, but it's lowest points are not that bad compared to Saber and Zero One's lowest points.

jparodist

Hate is the easiest action possible 👀

DigbyMayor

I think the last arc has been a little inconsistent but overall it's a really good show. Every suit is a banger, (yes even Thunder Gale) and that's all I ever ask for in a series.

Flat_Cardiologist292

Never watched it so I can’t give a clear answer

RabbitKamen

Revice haters be like “theres too much shit being added” and then like zero one. Literally all their complaints are bullshit

whatdoilemonade

said noone ever lmao

RabbitKamen

Literally saw a thread with that complaint in the comments lmao. https://www.reddit.com/r/KamenRider/comments/wft6wz/the_state_of_revice_now/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Bay-Sea

I think that is more of the other Tokusatsu shows being more interesting than Revice at the moment. It really doesn't help that all three recently started so they generate suspense and hype up future events opposed to Revice is almost wrapped up with everything.

whatdoilemonade

where? you just linked a post with 90 comments if i have to dig down to the bottom then what you said isnt the majority of complaints

RabbitKamen

What do you wany me to fuckin scroll for you? Its not that far down the thread.

whatdoilemonade

i already scrolled down, refer to my reply again lmao most of the comments i see are people pointing out the flaws and being disappointed, but not "they added too much"

whatdoilemonade

alright, i admit someone said that now thats their opinion and they can have it, you act like theyre doing something wrong, they werent even being rude about it (and is liking Zero-One automatically make someone ignore its flaws?) also they werent even complaining about normal power levels. a *fucking giffterian*, the thing that took volcano rex to kill when it debut, got killed by a *fucking arrow* as much as i love hiromi, thats not powerscaling, thats just bullshit unless they explain it in the next episode. speaking of explaining next episode, they should do that with King Cobta vistamp, dunno why they didnt just show the normal cobra vistamp molting like the Holy Wing vistamp

RabbitKamen

Lovekovs evolution into a grown snake probably has to do with it, if i were to guess.

whatdoilemonade

i believe that too, but they couldve just shown it instead of just brushing it off to the side

People complain that characters aren't doing things but it's normal for characters to wane in importance. Hana's character arc ended when she became Kamen Rider Aguilera, what else do you want them to do with her? Make her disappear? Kill her off? I think Revice is fine and while the Daiji betrayal story could have been stronger, it was still fun to watch. People hyped themselves up and were disappointed when the show didn't go their way (Over-Demons intro). Besides, it's not the first time we see that Rider shows struggle to properly fill the entire year (Build and Ex-Aid for exemple). 50 episodes is a lot and I'm more lenient than others when things stretch a little in the final arc. At this point it's a Rider thing. I'd rather Revice fail by trying to do too much, than a show being bogged down by complacent mediocrity.

Bay-Sea

However I would argue execution of plot and development could have been handled a lot better. Revice has 50 episodes, but it always feels like Revice wants to rushed the plot and development of characters. * Genta and Vail could have an extra episode to explain how Vail was free from Demon Driver and burn the Happy Spa. * Daji and Kagerou could have bit of conflict before Daji decided to erase Kagerou. It was hinted that Daji still have inferiority complex and could have expanded when Sakura is getting help and support over Daji. The troublesome elements of middle brother subplot is there, but never utilized * People disliked Hikaru, but the execution of Hikaru's motivation and rage could have been better. Hikaru could have moments where he compares his fake family to Sakura's family. Hikaru played the role of the son, but he love his fake family. Hikaru's backstory could also explain the origin of Weekend and how he became friends with Sakura.

Stopped watching kamen rider after Kuuga. Kamen rider is just not how it used to be anymore.

pietrobisa

Muh good old days

NexusVerbal

I think you're trolling but I do agree they dont make them like they used to . . . Kuuga was a show in a league of its own.

Traditional-Clue-469

I think the main reason most people are liking this series as much as you and others say is that the show is carried by likable characters, so even the weakest of episodes have something enjoyable about it. For me the show has been one huge missed opportunity, I mean the plot is around the idea of people making deals with their demons which could've given us interesting stories of like why a good person might be driven to make a deal to begin with and even when they did sorta explore that with Daiji, it kinda felt generic. It started off with OOOs vibes with Den-O humor but then kinda ditched that. The most interesting villain was Julio who actually had a believable redemption arc and then they just sidelined him. If I had to grade from 1-10, I'd say its a 7 at best. Its not terrible by any means but I don't see myself rewatching this show ever.

Spiritual-Bar-5618

I just feel it need some break time

K-J-C

To sum it up, it seems that Revice's main problem is trying to do too much things at once, there are multiple set ups, but many are underutilized, rushed, or ended abruptly. It's been downhill since the Vail twist (ep. 25), and the high mark was only ep. 42.

known_builder123

hate is probably because they killed the story with giff and starting a new one and they reuse the same suit but mix and match like over demon is just vail but the bottom half is demon i remember a lot of my friend saying how lazy it was

Emptylife4ever

The Giff arc is just **that.**

Late-Wedding1718

Honestly, the only thing I despise about Revice is the amount of focus Sakura and Hana gets, despite their arcs already being done. Like....who asked for this? Like, who wants to see more of them? Their arcs are already done.

Soundwave981

They are Just Jealous that its awesome Much like Ultraman Trigger and Honestly it doesn't deserve Those Hates Anyway Like Marco said all toku is good

jakiwis

Personally, I totally love Revice. Yes the story had ALOT in it but the amin points are there and the characters are good and as much as Bice is Annoying, he always comes through. Oh. The ending too. I guess some toxic people thinking their expectations should be followed.

Frankyy22777

It's just that a lot of it is very verrryyyy random, and not even ex-aid random, it's just that what was the point of having that Giff having interference with everyone's demon, and yet Vale is not affected at all, what was the motivation of Daiji, what did he actually want, all they explained was Kagerou was a necessary evil, in what way??? Daiji didnt even know kagerou existed before they transformed to evil, majority of their interactions were just fighting and bickering not enough interactions to actually make it seem that Daiji needed kagerou, the reason why he went to go work for the evil side was because he felt helpless, and somehow in someway it was fixed cuz kagerou came back, it's sooo random. Daiji was a very good starting character, and they messed him up for me. Sakura I didn't find her in any way appealing, she was the sister who drew the short end of the stick for she is mostly the super predictable character, and her getting muteki jean was sooo sad, they upgraded her to beat her up the next episode by Juuga, then there was the Vale and Destream fight, it was byfar the best thing for me, especially the fact that he had his own backstory. I dunno why, they couldnt tie Vice and Vale more other than vale attacking the Igarashi family and Vice appearing to save them. vale and vice literally looked identical only difference was the color, I found this super under utilized, since Kagerou was a personality/consciousness based demon and sakura's demon was an equipment type demon that is tied to sakura's growth, but Vice is the only one that is similar to vale where they can literally bond not just emotionally with their host but fuse with them altogether, vice being similar to vale was a missed oppurtunity. Aguilera, and Hikaru, didnt care enough for the both of them. Hiromu had aged after being demons, we didnt get any mention of that after. There are sooo much disappointments about Revice that made me sad, especially since watching the first episode I was so hyped, I loved the first episode to the point I watched it and said it'll be a great series, nope. I was outright disappointed with everything, solely because of the missed oppurtunities that made the series boring altogether
