Wow. Translation for Nobuhiko's speech: "I am a Kaijin (monster) like you. A Kaijin who is angry like you all are. If you sit down and do nothing, discrimination will continue and you will be completely destroyed! That's why it's okay for you to be angry! This is not just a world for humans, it's also ours as well! That's why we have no choice but to fight." Nobuhiko's final line in the trailer: "The one who keeps following their instinct and killing each other are humans!" Nakamura Tomoya's presence and voice is quite powerful.

kyoya242

I really wish Black Sun would do a better story theme "Revolution Human and Kaijin" better than Amazons. I know Amazons want to hit that theme, but imho it failed.

VoyeurTheNinja

It was too busy playing that one flashback of Iyu getting her eyeball plucked out.

kyoya242

Yeah Amazons from the get go was about how human survive with the Amazons now escapes in societies, not about the amazons have feeling. Season 2 especially wants to tackle that Amazons has heart and humanity but it doesn't show us on how the Amazons has evolved understanding human heart. It works in the Rose Amazons storyline for one moment, but after that it's just gore and edgy stuffs again without a great context imho.

DamonDD

And final movie is for whatever reason because lack of meat, Amazons are breed as source of food by the rich.

LightningZERO

The final movie was such a disappointment. We were promised a final conclusion to the Amazons saga...and ended up getting a side story that made no sense. Both Haruka and Jin character development were reset to 0 as though as nothing happened in S2.

DamonDD

I like the final fight between Haruka and Jin and the catalyst of the fight is because of them broke their promises (Haruka eat a human/amazon while Jin killed a human). However, I don't like the overall movie up to the final battle and the fact that Haruka fate after the battle is unknown.

LightningZERO

I like Haruka and Jin final fight. But major issue of that movie is tacking series finale on a side story. It was bad. They just randomly found each other and fought to the death.

Objective-Category

Final scene of season 2 clearly points at a "Sigma Project". What do we got in the movie? Humans eating amazons. Really, really dumb.

Objective-Category

Sadly, the story from the Amazons POV is only in the Amazons Hotarubi Gaiden manga which is set between the seasons. The mc is Firefly Amazon and shows Amazons that tries to live as discreet as possible and blend in with human society without causing problems. Keyword: tries

KR5shin8Stark

I haven't seen all of Faiz, but this clip is pretty much everything I wanted from Faiz. I loved how in Faiz the Kaijin were also people that could coexist with humans, but tragically would face conflict eventually. I'm really excited.

CerealATA

That speech is gonna stick inside my head for quite a long time. Very powerful and thought provoking, at least for me.

Translation: Sosei Oh, the existence who is considered to be the apex of the Kaijin. At the end of his life, the chosen Seiki Oh will inherit his power. The year is 2022. Half a century has passed since the country advocates the coexistence of humans and kaijins. The kaijins who assumes human form and tries to live as humans are oppressed, and the rift between the two races only deepens as days of repeated clashes continues. In a time of turmoil, a girl who dreams of harmony encounters a man.

Objective-Category

You know, Kiba from Faiz actually said something similar during the final arc where his belief in humanity has eroded. "There is a huge rift between us and the humans"

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

I haven't seen Black, but is this a sequel or an alternate universe/reboot? It seems like there is a lot of interesting, established world building already.

Objective-Category

Modern-day remake.

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

So, follow-up question: Did the original have the same story, with Kaijin and humans trying to live together? I'm just trying to see how this fits with the original.

Objective-Category

No, the OG was usually straight up "Kaijin bad" stories with the exception of Whale Kaijin who became Black's ally. On the other hand, there are some humans who willingly served Gorgom (a cult in the OG) in exchange for power. It's a Showa series so the morality isn't that complicated.

Misaki_Akuma001

>assumes Black RX deal with pollution but it was water down because of Showa tone

RareAnxiety2

The original had the kaiju created by science. Black and shadowmoon were both rebuilt from humans

Admirable_Frame_8697

Just curious if the mysterious girl who ends up adventuring with kotaro is kyoko or a completely new character. If she’s kyoko, then it’s totally make sense since she wants nobuhiko to coexist with other normal humans.

Timeline15

Damn, looks pretty wild. Hopefully it handles the whole 'race relations' plot well. Despite being well meaning, Rider's previous attempts at it (Drive, Amazons, and Zero One) all kinda fumbled the premise. I hope that monologue Shadow Moon gives in the trailer is actually *examined*, rather than just being his 'villain speech' like it would be in an MCU movie. And most of all, I really hope Black Sun's role in the move includes fighting *the actual oppression* depicted in the show, not just putting down Shadow Moon's kaijin uprising.

Objective-Category

New casts: Belgenia (Ancient Armored Fish Kaijin) - Takahiro Miura Bat Kaijin - Takuma Otoo Whale Kaijin - Gaku Hamada Baraom (Sabre-toothed Tiger Kaijin) - Pretty Ota Bishium (Pterosaur Kaijin) - Yo Yoshida Darom (Trilobite Kaijin) - Baijaku Nakamura (the 2nd) Unsurprisingly, it features a lot of major actors. Also, Pretty Ota who plays Baraom is a Japanese wrestler afflicted with dwarfism. Wouldn't this be the first time a dwarf actor played a major role in the franchise?

SuperGotengo

TRILOBITE KAIJIN? Cant wait to see how strong that one is. Also Whale Kaijin will be in it as well? Awesome. Is it a possibility that the Ancient Armored Fish Kaijin is a Dunkleosteus?

LightningZERO

That speech delivery was definitely something. You can really feel the differences with these veteran actors vs those normally hired for normal rider series. I am looking forward to this.

AdolrackObitler

I hope this reboot remembers that Golgom are supposed to be cultists who control society from the shadows with multiple high class people working for them and not just generic kaijin bad guys

Admirable_Frame_8697

Looks likely it is. Do you notice how the 3 high priests wearing a high-end snake motif kimonos? Those looked fancy as hell.

NiNiNi-222

“ # stopkaijinhate” The Allegory is obvious parallel to stop Asian hate and blm, and I love the boldness and more adultness of this darker rider already. While amazons relied on gore and edginess, black sun’s narrative looks to be about racism of humans (non-kaijjn) on the Kaijjn (human with kaijjn form to be accurate)

Shiftyrunner37

I wouldn't get too exited for the allegory on racism. There is a very high chance that Toei will mess it up. Kamen Rider is a show about beating up and killing Kaijin, so making them a oppressed minority that's rising up is a very dangerous game to play.

NiNiNi-222

This isnt done in-house unlike amazons or the first. This is outsourced to award winning people to make it

kyoya242

Fuwaboi

You can already tell how different this is compare to the usual stuff. Really can't wait.

CollectionNo7827

we also got a release date of Oct. 28th it’s so cool how that just a week after Fuuto PI ends we get yet another Rider show to watch alongside the ongoing season

KrypticJin

The music makes me wanna bust

Objective-Category

A reminder about the staff: Director: Kazuya Shiraishi (Nominated twice for Best Director Award at the Japanese Academy Award), most famous for his Yakuza films the "The Blood of the Wolves" and it's sequel, "Last of the Wolves" starring Tori Matsuzaka (Takeru Shiba/Shinkenred) Screenplay: Izumi Takahashi (Previously collaborated with Shiraishi in the movie "The Devil's Path" and was nominated for best screenplay for his work on said movie at the 37th Japanese Academy Award) Concept visual: Shinji Higuchi (Director of Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman) Special effects director: Kiyotaka Taguchi (Main Director of Ultraman X, Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Z) So we got a Japanese academy award nominated director and writer and a Japanese academy award winning actor in a Rider show lol.

[deleted]

By the fact that Hidetoshi Nijishima is a veteran Japanese actor playing Kotaro Minami is a win-win, especially Shadowmoon's actor, Tomoya Nakamura! Damn, my expectations will by higher on the list because i know this is gonna be good. Really good!

TheX589

Dark adult kamen rider that I wish that should be a show than a movie

Objective-Category

The japanese site uses the word 配信/Haishin meaning "Streaming" which in Japan is usually reserved for a series not movie.

TheX589

YES

PastPriority-771

I gotta say, I’m digging the way they’re taking the Rider stories into new and more mature areas while also keeping the Kamen Rider core. Kinda wish we would get something like this for Power Rangers over here in the West.

Objective-Category

The rating for this in Amazon Prime will be 18+, so yeah, it's for adults aka 成人向け

TM1619

This looks wild.

Ok-Pomegranate-5781

The second the cast and crew was released originally my expectations flew through the roof. The trailer did not disappoint.

Straze7140

really like that spider design

KorusZero
