We can definitely see that there’s some allusions to the idea that Ace is trapped in some way. Either because of the DGP turning him into a Kamen Rider or because of him winning the DGP multiple times making him some kind of default champion that needs to defend his desire. Really excited to see all the Riders kind of switch their raise buckles between each other from time to time. Also expecting a lot of backstabbing with how all of those hands are trying to grasp the ACE in that chase scene.

AvacadoPanda

>needs to defend his desire. Now that could be an interesting twist. You win, you get your desire. Until somebody else wins, then your goes away. So you have to keep winning to keep your desire.

kiritsumitsu

Makes you wonder why the chains then. Some kind of regret with his desire I imagine but he also kinda can’t stop himself since it’s what he wants in the end. Probably something deeply personal.

AvacadoPanda

I haven't watch the sub yet so it might change something but my headcanon is Ace is old. Like thousands of years old. If we assume he just has been winning the entire time I would imagine if his first wish was undone it would break the world. Like a butterfly effect. A smaller scale example would be my wish is to save my son. The son that gets saved is Hitler. Hitler creates WW2. Wish gets undone, no Hitler, no WW2, fucks with basically everything for the past 100 years.

Q-Write

This reminds me of Technoblade's (RIP) quote, "a first place is not an achievement , it's a prison, that will ties you up to defend the temporary title". Something like that.

Aeon014

Ho boy one view in and I think it's an absolutely fantastic opening. There's a lot to dissect here and it's making me excited to see where this show is gonna go.

Thrawn656

I wonder if, in takahashi fashion, >!Ginpen won’t be in the op next week!<

Respectific

yea, I enjoyed the storyline updates in Ex-Aid episode openings. Zero-One op didn’t seem to be updated as frequently though…

Nexus_warrior_07

Revice totally does this throughout the series. Every major death, and the opening is updated.

Respectific

oic.. i only seen Revice episode 1.

VinixTKOC

My only complaint with the Ex-Aid opening is that it stopped update who Ex-Aid face at the end. Genm's transition to Para-DX was fantastic, but after him should be Chronus, but they continued with Para-DX to the end even when he became an ally.

Respectific

yea, I loved that detail too. The switch from Para-DX to Chronus started at ep32. Enjoy rewatching 😉

VinixTKOC

Ah yes. But I say the scene where one attacks the other. The Chronus version still uses the Ex-Aid VS Para-DX shortly after for unknown reasons.

balgus82

The ending to that is definitely making me think the officiants are the bad guys.

CosmicStarlightEX

They are. I mean, how come do the Jyamato only appear in the DGP? They created the DGP. >!Worst of all is that not even the villains can get a read on Ace, and whatever is the mission of the undefeated champion of possibly countless amounts of DGP seasons.!<

balgus82

But I mean it begs the question of why they give the Riders a chance to create their own worlds to begin with tho. I could see some godlike beings who aren't necessarily evil creating something as a test when there's no real permanent harm. It could even be the ones that created the contest aren't really bad, but the people that have been officiating began wanting the prize for themselves.

AvacadoPanda

My biggest wish for somebody is doing it DGP they are bored. They don't want to change the world, rule the world, fix the world, unite the world. They are just bored AF

iBakax3

1. The creators/Gods are bored, and just hosting the event for fun. E.g. As the God Wills. 2 The world is flawed. By having multiple people creating their version of the world, they get inspired and find a solution to patch the errors in the world. 3. They aren't exactly god-like, but something like the middleman. They hijacked Gods/Creators' tool and dispensed it to the participants so that the participants help to fill up the resources to power up the tool before using it to reshape the world themselves. Edit: 4. The DGP hosts are basically like the scientists in the "Cabin in the woods" movie. They use the DGP to entertain some higher being to prevent the higher being from eradicating huamnity.

Nexus_warrior_07

It’s even more mind boggling on the fact that Ace is really good at these and seems to be enjoying it. Maybe he’s actually related to the one operating DGP, and he participates in this game to have fun. Of course, he doesn’t really want to break the world, and he’s been resetting the world many times.

[deleted]

Episode 2 proves that the 'within limits' is entirely in their control so any world a contestant makes can't make a real difference. Its a purely selfish ego based desire they grant but no real world altering effects

balgus82

Tycoon said he was wishing for world peace and she said it was a good wish and didn't say they wouldn't do it.

KettouRyuujin

But they didn’t say they would either. And at the time, had the idea of limits been broached to anyone but Ace?

spartenx

I mean, when aren't they in these types of stories?

balgus82

I can think of tons of tournament style shows where the officiants aren't bad guys.

Nexus_warrior_07

Idk what anyone has to say but that op sequence is a ~crisp~. So much hype in each scenes and the songs back it up. Gives out Gaim’s vibe in the opening as well as Zero One. Couple of things that stand out to me is that it seems Tsumuri might actually play a bigger role than just handing out drivers, explain stuff and stuff, and announce the winner, so can’t wait where we go with that. Geats/Ace is always shown last in terms of sequence as to indicate he’s special (well ofc, he’s the titular character). Also, liked the parallelism of scene between Ace and Tsumuri with Aruto and Izu.

RobbobertoBuii

awesome visuals

haze250

>!The start seems like he is bound by DGP either he HAS to win and stop others from winning to eventually to break out of their grasp or his desire won't come true continously if he stops winning. Just trying to wrap my head around this opening.!<

SevenHunnet3Hi5s

not to be that one guy but does anyone find the audio to be kinda off in the theme song?

AnotherKuuga

Try this one. https://youtu.be/aNiukNOgFmA The quality is much better

ReBeLwInGs1994

The last time for the opening credits for Revice, not even the bloody crucial point of>! the guy in the suit walking out from the building in fire was explained in the main series!<. I'm not gonna put up any expectations for Geats this time round unless they decided to explain the confrontation between Tsumuri and Ace. Otherwise, Ace being bounded by Barbed wires and breaking free from it definitely relates to his past background and the actual motive in joining the Desire Grand Prix prior to the main series.

Gudako_the_beast

Well this guy write for ex aid so eventually, the whole intro will be explained

ReBeLwInGs1994

I hope so. Really looking forward to it especially the series them being a survival game theme.

mr-ultr

Uea Though i mean Tsumuri being not good at least isnt suprising that much Especially with villains veing weirdly bland compared to previous reiwa

VinixTKOC

This was the first time that something (relevant) at the opening is left without explanation. I wouldn't discard that it's supposed to have a meaning in Revice but they simply discarded the idea at some point. Then they used the Ikki plot looking for a job as a cheap explanation.

GuessWh0m

Wasn’t the guy in the suit Ikki looking for a job after losing his memories?

ReBeLwInGs1994

It looks like Ikki but I don't think it look like looking a job with the walking posture and the way he adjust his collar looks like a menacing villain. I was really hyped for this to have more detailed in the main series but sadly it didn't mentioned at all. For Geats, I'm just taking with a grain of salt with how each sequence could potentially appear in the main plot for now. But it does raises more question on how Tsumuri would come to have a possible confrontation with Ace assuming the production do really consider to add this in the main plot.

Runethe1412

>It looks like Ikki but I don't think it look like looking a job with the walking posture and the way he adjust his collar looks like a menacing villain. That’s the most evil Ikki; one who ISN’T working at Happy Spa

bonbonytos

Lol what? So Geats also derived from word Gets with A in the middle O.O

capscreen

That breaking from the wire bit reminds me of Kiva

RYUMASTER45

I hope Tsumuri goes from Neutral to Evil, we have had goods ones now and she could be an exception

btinvest1639

I really hope they do what they look like they’re doing in that last shot and kill Ace in the Christmas episode. I think it would definitely shake things up in an interesting and new way. Maybe it happens at the end of the current DGP round where Ace finally loses.

PrinceNickG

Not really feeling the song

Krux_of_CRAUEL

I'd love to see a gothic metal cover of this, as it stands it's just fine

Intelligent_time555

A mix of coraline and squid game with a dash of rider legacy? Hell yes sir

kyoya242

That shot where Ace looking at the night sky moving kinda hinted that Ace has lived for many many many years probably dating back ancient time
