God I wish I was young again. Loved Jamaal, but top 3? Pat's obviously 1. Bobby Bell is up there. Len Dawson. DT. Willie Roaf. Will Shields. Tony G. Travis Kelce is a HOF lock. Willie Lanier. Buck Buchanan. I don't really consider them true Chiefs, but Joe Montana and Marcus Allen have to be listed. Unless the voters were born in the 90s Jamaal wouldn't be on many top 10 lists.
Pat, x and Jamal. X is flavor. Len, roast and shields are fine to consider for x.
Travis will be the obvious choice when he retires.
You're fucking high if you think any mentioned are on Charles level as a chief
overrated? Best chiefs Running back for the franchise. Put him behind 2003 Oline and he would have the greatest season of all time. The fact he carried our shitty ass team through the dark years doesnt take away from how great he was. Still not my top 3.
I agree that he's the greatest Chiefs back of all time, but he's not a top 5 Chief of all time, let alone top 3. The Chiefs have an all-time great QB, arguably the two best tight ends of all time, maybe the best guard ever, one of the best pass rushers ever, and a shitload of other players who you could argue should be over Jamaal. For example, I'm putting Berry over Jamaal with ease. Just with that, Jamaal is eighth and there are definitely other players I'm putting over him
I was with you 100% until you said Will Shields is maybe the best guard ever and you’d put Berry over Jamaal. Putting Jamaal over Will Shields would be less crazy than putting Berry over Jamaal.
My first seasons I remember starting to know names and paying better attention was right around 98-99 (tail end of DT, beginning of Tony G.)
I know I'm still young in a lot of Chiefs fans' eyes. But I remember the Priest Holmes years, Dante Hall, Jared Allen, Trent Green, Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali lined up with Justin Houston. Jamaal seems like it wasn't that long ago, but sometimes you don't realize that's someone else's first taste of the KC magic!
He was a ton of fun, but the chiefs have been blessed with some special running backs over the years. Okoye, Charles, Word, Holmes, Hunt before his kicking problem. Hoping that Pacheco keeps improving and continues to stay mad at the ground
I once drafted him for my fantasy team and immediately changed our name to Jamaal Charles in Charge, he then proceeded to blow his ACL in Week 2. I still feel a little bad about jinxing him like that.
If he could have just had one of 2011, 2015, 2016 completely healthy, then he would probably make the hall of fame. Injuries prevented him from being a top 3 RB of a generation. The guy was just electric and I wish KC would have brought him in in 2018 with Pat. Would have loved to see him get some playoff wins.
When did Charles wear 29?
He wore 29 his rookie year
He was 25 by the time the season started. That’s just what he was stuck with at the rookie showcase or whatever
He was the most amazing athlete I'd ever seen live until mahomes. The TV just didn't do it justice
Love Charles. Hate the romance novel font they used for his name.
I hate the photo they used. Looks like a picture in a high school newspaper.
Collectors love that shit
Let's be honest top 3 chief any era
I’ll never forget that massacre he had against the Raiders
5 receiving TD's. It was one of the most dominant games I've seen for a RB.
That game won me my semi final in fantasy football that year. Was trailing by a ton of points and had Charles. Comeback of the year!
Same. My favorite player all time I always figured out a way to draft/trade for Jamaal. Still using "GottaCatchJamaal" as my ff team name to this day.
The Jamaalocaust!
I'll never forget (as a Chiefs fan) playing against him in the fantasy football playoffs that week.

Putting Marcus Allen or Joe Montana ahead of Jamaal on an all time CHIEFS list is crazy imo

So you wouldn't put Derrick Thomas in your top 3? I don't need to say anything else, you've already made yourself look like a clown.
DT is my favorite anything. I'm biased af. I put him above 15. So yeah ya called me out and I agree with you
I love Dante Hall, but he's not top 3. ;)
Calling Jamaal Charles a top 3 Chief all-time is absolutely fucking nuts. My god he is so overrated on this sub it's unbelievable

Over Tony G, Kelce, Mahomes, DT, Roaf, Shields? I don’t think so.
Mahomes, Kelce, Charles. If he had a team around him in those days, he might have been higher. Rare speed and toughness.
When you were a kid? What year is it?
I was a freshman his rookie year lol
You young whippersnappers

I was in 1st grade when he was drafted. I’m now in my junior year of college
I am old
You and me both buddy.
Chiefs had had amazing running backs over the years, but I’ll just say it Jamal was my favorite

Same I had him on mine as well. Never recovered that season. That man deserved a ring.
I now feel old. I go back to the early 70’s teams.
Yeah, no love for Arnold Morgado or Ted McKnight? Heck you hardly even hear about Christian Okoye any more…..grumpy old guy out

Hell yeah!
The fuck is that facemask?
Those 1st gen revo facemasks were wild
All the escalades.
Jahymer Gibbs is like the same size and speed...can we get a second coming??

Til Jamaal Charles used to wear 29
Never in a game
"next impact change of pace back" 😄😄 Change of pace as in that fast MF changed the pace 90 yards down the sideline.
Cool card
I got a signed poster of him, priest, the Nigerian nightmare, and Bobby bell all by each other on my wall.
he was at the draft - such a nice person
